It's funny because back when other youtubers were complaining about the changes Gameloft did at S4. Skyliner was always positive about it, saying it's fine it'll still be good in the future. I think it was around S7 where Skyliner finally saw the bad Gameloft is doing to the game with all these P2W changes, double battlepasses and such.
I've always said how I've hated mid season characters... But shit it's one thing to force us to have the season pass character but to force us to open the box.... That's just disgusting and bullshit.

lmao, I totally feel you about the Celia Mae objective. 😆 I have her at 30, and was consistently winning the race, but could not for the life of me pull the needed skills. I was like "girrrrllll, can you just pull a dang bomb that I can chuck backward aimlessly so we can move on now?" lol. At the same time thinking "at the end of this, I'm gonna be stuck at 5 shards regardless," and had to take a moment to just laugh at the absurdity of it all. 🙃
Think about it Android people who just got the game this month. It's a constant grind because we don't even have the characters from previous seasons so we gotta open the vaults for money. Then, we don't have the shards or all the up grade coins that other people had from previous seasons to be able to upgrade required characters. $50 in for season pass and to open the vaults and it's a pain in the ass to get anywhere and upgrade characters. I'm stuck on trying to upgrade Sully for Anxiety event, but I grinded so hard for up grade coins and shards that now his mpr is too high for his level I'm stuck on - so, he's last every time so now more points to up grade mpr, so no more shards to up grade level. Not to mention, I don't have beast to complete one more challenge to get the final 5 shards. Not to mention all the characters I don't have that prevent me from getting Anger shards on the map behind medal locks. So, I know I'm not going to be able to get Ennui. Regret spending this much money on a GreedLoft game already. 🤦♀️
It's too bad they wont care. We can complain all we want but the whales and character collectors will always spend money trying to get these characters.

Newbie here for this game, but for me personally? I have patience that there'll be a day where I'll have beautiful French lady, Ennui... and also Anxiety. The reason why I say i have the patience that I do for this game and one day obtaining my favorite disney characters is because I'm a fellow player of Pokémon Unite. And let me tell you, you thought that Gameloft doesn't care? Pokemon Unite is far, far, FAR worse. The game crashes severely, like as in lag. The lag is ungodly. You'll lag through walls, you'll freeze in place ( which gets you killed. ) right when you think your team has scored Rayquaza or Zapdose or whichever, the game freezes, and before you know it, the enemy team's got the jump on ya. Hella annoying. The creators of Pokémon Unite say that they fix the bugs in the game, but they only fix at least a little bit of it, stopping the game from crashing completely. They release newer and newer Pokémon without fear of any consequences. ( more bugs being added to the game due too said release of newer Pokémon. ) it's to recapture players attention and to bring in the money. The game is extremely stressful, and like a psychopath, I still play it because I enjoy playing my best trumpcard Absol. I know I'm possibly comparing apples and oranges, but the point has never aligned quite so well as this. Just a thought... 😅

I think this will be my last Golden Pass event. The crazy thing is, I've played Disney Speedstorm "More" than any other game this past year, and have really enjoyed it. It is really sad, because if this game wasn't so blatantly cash grabby, this game could easily dethrone Mario Kart as the go to racer. Sadly Gameloft needs to make the mouse overlord money, which I can't imagine they are struggling with making money now that it is on mobile.

Im not even going to attempt the ennui event because of this crap. One of the biggest issues I've had with this game has been the mid season racer events, they have been bad since they nerfed the rewards in Season 4, but most especially Eve to Ennui. I dont even know if I will play the NBC season but if they continue this method of unlocking mid season racers then im not going to play this game anymore. This game has been torture to F2P players and maybe new players since they introduced the golden pass changes in Season 7, which is also another one of my biggest issues with this game. This game had a lot of potential to be good, but they had to put a lot of monetization and it kills it. It hurts me to say all this because during early access, this was the best game I played but now I don't even have fun on this game anymore

I can’t believe that they’re locking Ennui under a pay wall. I will probably have to wait for a while until I can unlock her cause don’t want to spend money just on Ennui’s box.
It can be said for Kermit too, but you actually need her to 100% the season, which A lot of players already paid for. Again though if you were a long time player, Kermit wasn't much of a problem. But tomorrow when the final part of the season unlocks many players won't be able to complete without having forked over at least an extra 5 dollars.
I'm a new player bc Android is my only way to play and it just came out on Android. Already put out $50 for Season Pass and Vaults to get characters I need. Now, there's still several characters I need but don't have so I can't even unlock the gates blocking Anger shards. I don't have beast so can't get those 5 Anxiety shards. I can't get the Sully Anxiety shard because I've grinded so hard with him, that now his mpr is too high for his level so I loose ever race and get no mpr points....that the real shitty thing, grinding so hard to up grade the character that now they're a shifty racer because of it. Android people coming in now are at a huge disadvantage because we don't have the shards or upgrade points that everyone else got in previous seasons. Wish I hadn't have gave my money too GreedLoft. I wish Disney would have partnered with any other company to make this game - it probably would have been a lot better.
I think this is them pushing these events to the limit to 1. see what exactly they can get away with and 2. make their audience happy and content when they do the bare minimum of reverting back to the same horrible events. Basically, a 'It could be worse, ya know' thing. Even if they do "fix" it by giving away the rest of the shards through another event tomorrow or a code, that's not the point. The point is that they did this crap in the first place.
Worst thing is that you actually need to unlock Ennui to be able to complete the season tour...many will not only miss having her, but also getting some rewards from the tour itself 😢
Genuinely enjoyed the unscripted and unfiltered feelings video especially on something so user un-friendly. I appreciate that you just let it flow how negative this event and other things make you feel about the current state of the game, it was refreshing to watch. I think its good that dedicated creators like yourself make stuff like this and spread the word in hope that itll make some positive change come through.
Bruhh what are they doing... Having a happy and big f2p community is literally free advertisement which will bring in even more paying people. Many f2p will turn p2p too at some point. They have the example of Genshin on how to make a great gacha yet they choose to ruin their game.
This event really sucks. Not even players who have already spent a lot of time in the game will be able to unlock Ennui without having to spend tokens, as if they were easy to get. Anyway, could you try other disney games like 'Disney Mirrorverse'? It also has certain problems but the designs and the story are really interesting.
Because of the gacha this might be the first time i haven't been able to complete a season tour since season 5 aka the Frozen season. I can see the community going at Gameloft again like when season 7 was about to launch. I hope they fix this issue and find a way to make the mid-season character events better so that every player can obtain the characters because this crossed the line and one that should never be crossed cause a lot of games had the same issue and they ended with the same problem with them losing everything and have to shut down the game. Basically, what I'm saying is stuff like this is the reason a lot of games we know and love are gone or cease to exist anymore because of greed and bad choices and I'll say it once again This is the best Disney Racing Game ever and if this continues all the work, the buildup of future seasons, and all the years of work, love, and support to this game will be gone and a lot of us don't want that to happen. So, let's tell Gameloft to get their shit together and fix the mid-season events for the better and it might survive to see it's 2-year anniversary. Cause I don't know how much us players can possibly take.
I think that like with EVE, Ennui is a character that I'm not going to unlock in her initial mid-season debut. While it is true that I did get $110.00 in eShop points for my birthday this year, I want to use those eShop points for something worthwhile. I spent $30.00 on Rocket Knight Adventures Re-Sparked, and $20.00 on Speedstorm tokens thus far. I managed to get the Duck Family for Stitch, and I'm also considering getting Jose and Panchito for Donald. I also want to be able to save $20.00 for the Pirates of the Carribean season, especially if Miss Piggy is its Mid-season racer.
They give you a time trial to do if you are lucky enough to unlock character but then the top players are at lvl 30+ with totally unachievable times. I unlocked as I had blue tokens to spend on box but only barely got to lvl 16 to complete chapter my doing mpr my time trial time is at the bottom so wont even get more shards. Its stupid and unfair esp if you want newer players to stick with game. I have been playing since day 1 and even I have struggled to lvl up some of the characters required.

I Finally unlocked ennui 2 days left until the drop box disappears. Thank goodness. I have ennui now. But having to play 5 different characters to unlock a character is so tedious. It would be a lot easier if we could just use recommended characters aka everyone on the roster. That would make unlocking characters a lot more enjoyable
I started playing in Season 5 (Frozen). I have every character except Ennui, with most over level 30. This took a tonne of grinding which I enjoyed doing. When I saw that I couldn’t earn this character without paying, I decided to not even bother. I have more than enough to keep me playing and the fear of missing out (FOMO) is not enough to motivate me. The RNG on Kermit boxes was not great and I don’t feel like spending ridiculous amounts of cash to improve my 50+ player roster by 1. This was purely a cost/benefit decision that I couldn’t justify…
Not a kid nor did I love Ennui after watching inside out 2 but I did love anxiety and related so much to her as a character and her release DID bring me back on the game for the first time since season 2 and I did have to go the gotcha box route to get her. It is what it is but I feel bad for anyone in that scenario but for Ennui
I remember being upset that both Mid-Season racers were just gonna be Inside Out 2 characters because I felt like they could've waited for a while to add them since we're already getting 5 Inside Out racers. Now that Ennui's event is now, I'm glad we didn't get anyone from another franchise. Otherwise, I'd be angrier at this event. Something important you neglected to mention is that Ennui's required for a mission in the last chapter of the Season Tour, which just makes her event WORSE. Despite this, I have no intention of spending ANY tokens on her box. After Kermit & Anxiety's events, I've accepted that these boxes are a complete waste of tokens. And seeing your footage of Ennui being literally unfinished, along with factoring in the fact she isn't voiced AT ALL, Ennui is NOT worth it.
Hot take, they shouldn’t even be asking for characters like genie to get just 1 shard. Especially in this part with the mobile launch they should’ve just made the missions open to every racer and if they absolutely have to lock them behind a racer then just lock it behind Mickey.
For me, this was the thing that made me stop playing the game at all, i was playing this season less and less but man Greed got over them and enough is enough
I tried to get just one box today just to see if I could get shards, and I got 18 nostalgia shards, 3 sets of shards for the same common crew member, I was so angry I just turned off my system.

3k Tokens=6 boxes results only 2 of her darn shards I get. Just not worth it when she is locked behind a Token/Gacha Wall. Well I guess I am gonna have to wait before I can earn enough to get her remaining 3 shards....
After watching the video, I will say this. There is a better system to this, even if they up the amount of shards in the gacha box but overall they need to give a full free to play path to a new character, it's 100% not fair.

New player here, I just started playing the game 3 weeks ago now, my highest rank is champion but it’s getting harder to level up my racers since I can only collect 28 MPR for the last shards and going to 33 MPR will be impossible with a 2 star racer, since haft my racers are in 28 n 29 MPR
I'll say this. I would pay $5 for a special event or even $10 but $25 to $50 to get an unfinished, unpopular character. Don't test my loyalty Gameloft, we don't have to play your game. As a free to play player, I had to spend most of my tokens on the anxiety box, luckily got anxiety on my 3rd box so I went from 2070 tokens (which is how much I grinded in ranked for) to 570 tokens

I'm going to say this, apologies if this sounds mean, because that's not my intent. Maybe, you shouldn't have spent tokens to unlock Ennui. I know you're a content creator covering the game, but also, by spending the tokens, it just encourages Gameloft to do this more in the future. Gameloft will look at the data, and see people spending tokens, and be like "yes, let's do this more." It's ok to not unlock a character to send a "this is not acceptable" message to Gameloft. Personally, I loved how they handled Elsa. Give me a few easy challenges, and let me earn a shard every single day during a season. It's a bit of a grind, but it was more fair than this. I even didn't bother with Anxiety because I was not gonna buy another golden pass, nor do I have the other characters unlocked to get her. Shame too since Part 1 of the golden pass was the first time I completed a full golden pass.
Guess what? It just launched on mobile. Did you really think they wouldn't pull something like this? It's a mobile game company dude. Of course they will do it and trust me it will get worse, with characters fully paywalled down the line. Marvel Strike Force has a 15-day battlepass that costs $20, so that's where we are heading towards :)

I was really fond of many of the changes that Gameloft made this season. But this character unlock is just outrageous. This is extremely frustrating.

The fisherman Gameloft is a predator to fish.They baited as many mobile fish and water current fish and reeled them in with gotcha boxes.

How dare you to ruined your OWN game that has a LOT of potential and you only done is screw that chance to be the best game of the game base and make Disney and Pixar characters dirty?! I can’t believe that they’re locking Ennui under a pay wall. I will probably have to wait for a while until I can unlock her cause don’t want to spend money just on Ennui’s box.

Others may not think that the game is that great or good, but MAN the music slaps hard!
It can be said for Kermit too, but you actually need her to 100% the season, which A lot of players already paid for. Again though if you were a long time player, Kermit wasn't much of a problem. But tomorrow when the final part of the season unlocks many players won't be able to complete without having forked over at least an extra 5 dollars.
I'm a new player bc Android is my only way to play and it just came out on Android. Already put out $50 for Season Pass and Vaults to get characters I need. Now, there's still several characters I need but don't have so I can't even unlock the gates blocking Anger shards. I don't have beast so can't get those 5 Anxiety shards. I can't get the Sully Anxiety shard because I've grinded so hard with him, that now his mpr is too high for his level so I loose ever race and get no mpr points....that the real shitty thing, grinding so hard to up grade the character that now they're a shifty racer because of it. Android people coming in now are at a huge disadvantage because we don't have the shards or upgrade points that everyone else got in previous seasons. Wish I hadn't have gave my money too GreedLoft. I wish Disney would have partnered with any other company to make this game - it probably would have been a lot better.
I think this is them pushing these events to the limit to
1. see what exactly they can get away with and
2. make their audience happy and content when they do the bare minimum of reverting back to the same horrible events. Basically, a 'It could be worse, ya know' thing.
Even if they do "fix" it by giving away the rest of the shards through another event tomorrow or a code, that's not the point. The point is that they did this crap in the first place.

Worst thing is that you actually need to unlock Ennui to be able to complete the season tour...many will not only miss having her, but also getting some rewards from the tour itself 😢
I won't be buying any gotcha boxes. I'll get my 5 shards and call it a day and just know I won't be able to 100% this season.

Genuinely enjoyed the unscripted and unfiltered feelings video especially on something so user un-friendly. I appreciate that you just let it flow how negative this event and other things make you feel about the current state of the game, it was refreshing to watch. I think its good that dedicated creators like yourself make stuff like this and spread the word in hope that itll make some positive change come through.
Bruhh what are they doing... Having a happy and big f2p community is literally free advertisement which will bring in even more paying people. Many f2p will turn p2p too at some point.
They have the example of Genshin on how to make a great gacha yet they choose to ruin their game.
This event really sucks. Not even players who have already spent a lot of time in the game will be able to unlock Ennui without having to spend tokens, as if they were easy to get.
Anyway, could you try other disney games like 'Disney Mirrorverse'? It also has certain problems but the designs and the story are really interesting.

Because of the gacha this might be the first time i haven't been able to complete a season tour since season 5 aka the Frozen season. I can see the community going at Gameloft again like when season 7 was about to launch. I hope they fix this issue and find a way to make the mid-season character events better so that every player can obtain the characters because this crossed the line and one that should never be crossed cause a lot of games had the same issue and they ended with the same problem with them losing everything and have to shut down the game. Basically, what I'm saying is stuff like this is the reason a lot of games we know and love are gone or cease to exist anymore because of greed and bad choices and I'll say it once again This is the best Disney Racing Game ever and if this continues all the work, the buildup of future seasons, and all the years of work, love, and support to this game will be gone and a lot of us don't want that to happen. So, let's tell Gameloft to get their shit together and fix the mid-season events for the better and it might survive to see it's 2-year anniversary. Cause I don't know how much us players can possibly take.
I think that like with EVE, Ennui is a character that I'm not going to unlock in her initial mid-season debut. While it is true that I did get $110.00 in eShop points for my birthday this year, I want to use those eShop points for something worthwhile. I spent $30.00 on Rocket Knight Adventures Re-Sparked, and $20.00 on Speedstorm tokens thus far. I managed to get the Duck Family for Stitch, and I'm also considering getting Jose and Panchito for Donald. I also want to be able to save $20.00 for the Pirates of the Carribean season, especially if Miss Piggy is its Mid-season racer.
They give you a time trial to do if you are lucky enough to unlock character but then the top players are at lvl 30+ with totally unachievable times. I unlocked as I had blue tokens to spend on box but only barely got to lvl 16 to complete chapter my doing mpr my time trial time is at the bottom so wont even get more shards. Its stupid and unfair esp if you want newer players to stick with game. I have been playing since day 1 and even I have struggled to lvl up some of the characters required.

I Finally unlocked ennui 2 days left until the drop box disappears. Thank goodness. I have ennui now. But having to play 5 different characters to unlock a character is so tedious. It would be a lot easier if we could just use recommended characters aka everyone on the roster. That would make unlocking characters a lot more enjoyable
I started playing in Season 5 (Frozen). I have every character except Ennui, with most over level 30. This took a tonne of grinding which I enjoyed doing. When I saw that I couldn’t earn this character without paying, I decided to not even bother. I have more than enough to keep me playing and the fear of missing out (FOMO) is not enough to motivate me. The RNG on Kermit boxes was not great and I don’t feel like spending ridiculous amounts of cash to improve my 50+ player roster by 1.
This was purely a cost/benefit decision that I couldn’t justify…

Not a kid nor did I love Ennui after watching inside out 2 but I did love anxiety and related so much to her as a character and her release DID bring me back on the game for the first time since season 2 and I did have to go the gotcha box route to get her. It is what it is but I feel bad for anyone in that scenario but for Ennui

I remember being upset that both Mid-Season racers were just gonna be Inside Out 2 characters because I felt like they could've waited for a while to add them since we're already getting 5 Inside Out racers.
Now that Ennui's event is now, I'm glad we didn't get anyone from another franchise. Otherwise, I'd be angrier at this event.
Something important you neglected to mention is that Ennui's required for a mission in the last chapter of the Season Tour, which just makes her event WORSE.
Despite this, I have no intention of spending ANY tokens on her box. After Kermit & Anxiety's events, I've accepted that these boxes are a complete waste of tokens. And seeing your footage of Ennui being literally unfinished, along with factoring in the fact she isn't voiced AT ALL, Ennui is NOT worth it.

Hot take, they shouldn’t even be asking for characters like genie to get just 1 shard. Especially in this part with the mobile launch they should’ve just made the missions open to every racer and if they absolutely have to lock them behind a racer then just lock it behind Mickey.

I tried to get just one box today just to see if I could get shards, and I got 18 nostalgia shards, 3 sets of shards for the same common crew member, I was so angry I just turned off my system.
I'm not forking over cash to unlock Ennui at all whatsoever, if/since this is most likely how Gameloft is going to treat Mid Season Racer Events going forward. Absolutely egregious and disgustingly atrocious. Count me out.
Previous event with the dragon was the same, you need certain characters at 35+ level to get the reward.
Gameloft is always trying to go to far and annoying all of us. It's a shame that what could be the greatest disney videogame ever is managed so badly.
I don’t know who the hell is choosing the characters but that is why I didn’t buy the golden pass. So I missed out on Joy and sadness. I would prefer to have Bing Bong and Jingles.
As someone who throws 20 to 50 dollars a paycheck on the game, this crap is the straw for me. This is preditory and disgusting. I wont put another cent in this game.

After watching the video, I will say this. There is a better system to this, even if they up the amount of shards in the gacha box but overall they need to give a full free to play path to a new character, it's 100% not fair.

New player here, I just started playing the game 3 weeks ago now, my highest rank is champion but it’s getting harder to level up my racers since I can only collect 28 MPR for the last shards and going to 33 MPR will be impossible with a 2 star racer, since haft my racers are in 28 n 29 MPR
I'll say this. I would pay $5 for a special event or even $10 but $25 to $50 to get an unfinished, unpopular character. Don't test my loyalty Gameloft, we don't have to play your game. I feel bad for the people who grinded and spent money to get their characters up just to be blocked at the end and cannot complete the season. #feelsbad

As a free to play player, I had to spend most of my tokens on the anxiety box, luckily got anxiety on my 3rd box so I went from 2070 tokens (which is how much I grinded in ranked for) to 570 tokens

I'm going to say this, apologies if this sounds mean, because that's not my intent. Maybe, you shouldn't have spent tokens to unlock Ennui. I know you're a content creator covering the game, but also, by spending the tokens, it just encourages Gameloft to do this more in the future. Gameloft will look at the data, and see people spending tokens, and be like "yes, let's do this more." It's ok to not unlock a character to send a "this is not acceptable" message to Gameloft. Personally, I loved how they handled Elsa. Give me a few easy challenges, and let me earn a shard every single day during a season. It's a bit of a grind, but it was more fair than this.
I even didn't bother with Anxiety because I was not gonna buy another golden pass, nor do I have the other characters unlocked to get her. Shame too since Part 1 of the golden pass was the first time I completed a full golden pass.
Guess what? It just launched on mobile. Did you really think they wouldn't pull something like this? It's a mobile game company dude. Of course they will do it and trust me it will get worse, with characters fully paywalled down the line. Marvel Strike Force has a 15-day battlepass that costs $20, so that's where we are heading towards :)

Why ennui events are very dissapointng? My thoughts needs to ennui events to be fixed, all players who had played disney speedstorm before have many complains about ennui events, they're such a painful while players to see ennui events are worst
