The fact that you are forced to spend money on a common character with no voice is pure insanity
I was about to say the same exact thing I have to pay premium prices for a character I can’t use season tokens on and she has no voice and she’s blue and purple like 2 of the other characters I spent 80$ on her box and didn’t get one gold item as well
Ngl, Ennui should've been the common racer for the Golden Pass Part 2 instead of Fear, as he was in Part 1.
I remember being so excited for her to be added but now I'm just beyond mad. I mean she's a COMMON character so she shouldn't be that hard to unlock, I hope that in the future there's some way to unlock her more easily
Like how the event is called "Caring too little" shows how much Gameloft cares about it's community

Behind a paywall, no voice lines and her animations don‘t even work. What an absolute disaster. And of course it‘s yet another slowdown special.
Ennui - a feeling of weariness and dissatisfaction. This event didn't give me the character but it was successful at providing the emotion.

So many people were outraged over this event. I was banned from the discord server for saying it needs reworking

This has to be the worst event of all time. Lol.
Edit: you only get half the shards, and then you gamble for the last 5. The biggest slap in the face is that they offer the 5 shards pack after you unlock her… garbage.
Wait till tomorrow they’ll probably release the extra shard pack tomorrow, people need be clever about it
Just when I feel like unlocking a character can't get any worse, Gameloft says "hold my beer."
It's ridiculous how this season gives us some great stuff, then we get something like this at the end. I can't believe it but we somehow got an event worse than EVE's event and Kermit's first event. Also getting top 10% is basically impossible since there's a little over 100 people from what I've heard, so top 10% is more like top 10 players.
EDIT: I also found that Celia Mae event very annoying too. It's just an poor rng objective.

I don’t get it. What’s the point of, spending money to get (maybe) shards for a racer, when you have 60+ other racers. I absolutely don’t get it.
Roster completionism
I don't know about you, but I would be very unhappy if I cannot unlock all the available characters for a game. That's like buying Street Fighter only to learn that Ryu is a GameStop pre-order bonus and Ken is available from a unique code from buying the game from Target.
@@zeeksliderYou can unlock every Character, I think Ennui also step by step in the next 1-3 weeks. But that’s the problem, of Human. impatient. Lot of people spend money, rather than wait.
The way they have the game setup, if you don’t have unlocked racers at a certain level then you miss out on content completion/rewards.
This games has been slowly turning from a Pay to win game into a pay to play game.
They went Pay to Win since season 6 (little mermaid). During S5 (Frozen) they were too generous with the events and event rewards , which they felt were "not right" and tweaked it on S6 where we all started to feel things weren't right and unfair.
I thought they'd learned their lesson for S8 and make things somewhat fair because it's the mobile release too. But i was wrong, you can fix a scummy company. They'll always want more money.
I am so annoyed about the Ennui Event as well as the Limited Events in general now. First of all, why isn't *Racer Boost* a Regular Limited Event? It makes no sense to be a Seasonal Event. Second of all, there isn't really a lot of Regular Limited Events for those that don't have many Racers. I like the *Star Chaser* Events, but we need more Regular Limited Events to balance it out for everyone.
Anyways, Ennui is; a Common Racer, Only has 5 Shards in her Event that AREN'T Milestone Unlocks, No Voice Lines, Wonky Animations, and of course - No Extra Shards Box. C'mon on - that is now Gambling 201, and it is a game *KIDS* play too! I voiced my rant on X about it. I was TOTES looking forward to playing as Ennui, but now I sadly won't be able to without grabbing my wallet... and I don't wanna spend it on Loot Boxes. I played Mario Kart Tour since 2020 and only just stopped now. The Loot Boxes requires spending Blue Tokens. Those Blue Tokens are SOOO rare to come by in normal gameplay that it is practically like Rubies in Mario Kart Tour. Countries in Europe started banning games that has unfair Loot Boxes that ONLY requires you to spend Premium Currency. The stuff you get aren't cosmetics like in Fortnite, they're actual Racers. Child Gambling is BAD you know, and they become Gambling Addicts in Adults. Gambling Addiction is REALLY bad in Australia at the moment that it is practically the money version of Smoking. I don't know what Gameloft were thinking, but PLEASE MAKE EVERYONE GET THE RACER THEY WANT!?
The lack of required gacha was one of my favorite things about Speedstorm. It's the reason I was ok with buying season passes and could still recommend Speedstorm to friends. If future events keep with this design, I won't be spending any more money on it.
What's the point of having her a common racer when she's the most difficult to unlock. Also she's not worth it for not having voice lines. Unfortunately because I don't have Anxiety or Ennui since I'm playing the free way, both of their nodes in Chapter 5 & 6 will be the only ones I won't complete..which means I would be missing 1 medal to get every reward in the season tour for the first time.
Unfortunately I stopped to play because of the constant need to spend money for unlocking new champ
Season 8 was being such a great season... until Part 2 arrived. I can't believe we have to pay for a Common, non-voiced, bugged racer.
Fun to see a common character behind a paywall lol. Unless she is the most broken character I can understand but she isn't any better than sadness.

Yeah a common character with no voice , behind a rigged pay wall( I spent $80 one the box and didn’t get one gold shard )and special events where you have to several characters at least level 30 is diabolical , that’s upsetting and disrespectful to the fans that play and support that’s not right
if Gameloft charged $20 for a straight unlock i'm pretty sure it would sell like hotcakes

This event is litterlty how much money you spent on the game determines how much you need to spend to unlock her and not to mention she is a basically a worse version of Ursula. I have been very forgiving of gameloft but this is it I may go on strike.
This is absolutely ridiculous. The fact that you need to gamble to get 5 shards assuming that you had the other characters to get the other 5 just to unlock her and then play in a very exclusive cup. And don’t even get me started on the drop rates. Getting top 10% in the cup will be near to impossible cause it only caters to whales and some dolphins. This is really upsetting to me and to a lot of others.
Def worst event ever in All of Speedstorm. I am surprised that how a common character is extremely hard to get and unlike figment's events you don't even have an unlock pack for Ennui
I think they released the events by accident before Ennui and events were ready. We don’t normally get events on Thursday. I think they were suppose to be different

In my opinion you shouldn't even open Ennui boxes for content. It's unacceptable to force the player to pay to unlock a new character, whatever their rarity is, and no one should pay anything to make them understand
Bought a trunk of tokens for myself for my birthday. I got every crew member for Anui… only two Anui shards… still no Anui…

This is crazy that they make you spend on a loot box without guaranteed drop chances, anymore of this and im sure the speedstorm community will see a decline.
They just got the mobile players in the game. They could've at least waited till next season before doing this scummy design again. Let the mobile players get hooked into the game first before you tell them to spend money already.
They need to fix these events on getting these characters.
I doubt they'll fix it because they know the whales will buy the shards and those desperate collectors will buy it too. (Ehem look at Skyliner)
Normally I'd expect at least Sadness is needed for unlocking Ennui, like how we unlocked Anxiety. But why the sudden change to gamble in the box? I spent 500 tokens I earned so hard in ranked at GC and UC, and ended up with no Ennui shards. Plus, she's a COMMON racer ... should have been relatively easy to unlock 🤦🏻♂️ What's up with GL?
we should be able to use purple coins from the season to try to unlock. i was saving for the later characters since all my inside out characters except anxiety are at least 35
bruh like what is this? i only have 786 tokens rn. i love this game but i'm not going to fall into the trap of spending money on her box, either give us another event for the last 5 shards or I might quit
so it's harder to get the common mid-season racer than the rare one, like that makes sense
And she doesn't even talk let alone have animations that load in...being free to play is so hard in this game also why is this game trying so hard to be a gacha game it doesn't even qualify as one it's a racing game and I've seen gacha games with better generosity than this 🤦
The Inside Out season had such a strong start, but it's true what they say, "All good things must come to an end".
I did get $110.00 worth of eShop points for my birthday not too long ago. I spent $50 of them thus far; first to buy Rocket Knight Adventures Re-Sparked from the eShop channel for $30.00, and the remaining $20.00 for Disney Speedstorm tokens. I used them to get a new Epic crew member; the Duck Family for Stitch. I still have $60.00 in eShop points remaining, and I'm considering using some of them to buy Jose and Panchito for Donald while the offer is still good, but I also want to save at least $20.00 of them for Golden Pass tokens when the Pirates of the Caribbean season begins.
Speaking of the Pirates season, I really hope Miss Piggy is the Mid-season racer for that season the way Kermit was for the Wreck-it Ralph season. I, of course, expect her to be a Brawler (since she does most of the fighting in the Muppets franchise) and Foo-Foo to be her Epic crew member (since she's her pet dog).
I certainly wish Embarrassment and Envy would've made it. If they wanted a character who did not speak or have voice lines for the second mid season racer for Season 8, I 100% bonafide would've chosen Embarrassment because he hardly talks himself. Plus he's my favorite next to Anxiety.

At least with Anxiety you get 10 shards for doing her event.
This happened almost the exact same way for me. I got my 5 shards from the Event, and then I got 2 Ennui Shards from the first loot box, 2 Ennui Shards from the second box, nothing from the third, fourth, fifth, sixth or seventh boxes, 2 Ennui Shards from the eigth box. After that I went to played Ranked and I got kicked from the server and couldn’t get back in after the first match, so I deleted the game and I’m reinstalling it.
Me, who hasn't played this game beyond the tutorial and will never play anymore than that, but just likes watching your videos: "I can't believe they'd do this to the speedstorm community, making us open a box to get a character"

Ennui means bored in french languages, she's so very bored emotions, her design looks cool, but it's very lacking of her animations is couch, there's no couch during performed a charge activations, well that bad, bad animations perhaps ennui skill charge activations must be repaired
things aint gonna change if people are buying and whaling on her boxes to unlock ect we should all stood our ground as a community and said this is not right, and prooved a point to gameloft but thats useless now with people allready spending to unlock her ect.

Minnie is the worse brawler in the game but ig you could buy the shards back just in case for future chapters or events

I was so excited to unlock her until I saw only 5 shards in the event. Everyone on that leaderboard that isn’t a content creator is only enabling Gameloft’s greedy decisions. I’m not spending any money on this game until I see more free-to-play friendly decisions being made.

Paying to get characters is one thing, but here there’s a good chance you’ll pay €5 or €10 without getting the character. It’s shameful, this kind of practice will make me quit the game.

Even anxiety, which is a rare character, required lvl 22 to get her shards.

It's so bad! Also.. that missing couch.. The only thing that might be worth mentioning, is that the racing event lasts for an entire eight days. Maybe they will add an additional event where you can obtain another 5 shards during that time, and no one had to buy the box. But.. people are usually not that patient. But yeah, if they don't do that then this is incredibly bad, a forced box is not cool. Is scary how many people have bought the box too, the devs won't stop if people complain, but buy it anyway.
Unpopular opinion: I saw some gameplay of this and the sight of her gliding in midair was funny

And I thought not being able to get the Anxious Riley Crew Member was bad (was one shard away from unlocking that). Enuni being the hardest to get shards, while not being an epic is catastrophically bad.

(Of course I did use my remainder tokens to get Genie, and the Little Mermaid characters and other parts, clothing, and animations for Anxiety and Ennui. So I'm not spending ANYMORE on this game!)

I quite this time I'm done.
Yeah was surprised. Was very sure she was going to not be as bad as most characters to unlock yet she became one of the most expensive for me since I started playing. I had all those characters unlocked but besides Sadness (34) all the other characters required are between 24-31. I had shards for most of them with the exception of Anna and Celia Mae who both with the shards I had only could reach 31 and 32. Gosh it sucked that not only do I have to win with Celia Mae but hers is rather random. Still had to spend so very many Upgrade tokens!! went from over 100 down to 60. Now I only had to gamble twice ($10) to fully unlock her. Still like damn.
I really miss the guest racer events that gave you shards if you did well. Gaston and Hades were the good ole days of events. Ortensia was the last one I remember being fair. They already make it hard to get the 5 shards if certain players don't have level 35 Ana, Goofy, or any of the other ones. This needs to be fixed. No way they aren't making a ton on battle passes with it being split in 2 now as well as the tournaments to get older season stuff. I get it's free to play, but I think this is a bit much especially if you aren't guaranteed to get racer shards!
Day 1 EA/F2P can't unlock a Common Racer without paying. Gameloft must really want to unleash another wave of hate comments huh?

Maybe I can wait until the Pirates of the Caribbean season to unlock her. Maybe get her after unlocking Will Turner.
For the first I’m not happy about having every character unlocked. I don’t feel like a winner. Anxiety I joked about how the new plan gave me literal anxiety. But now, I guess the idea for matching the theme of character is to show us how lazy the creators are?! Such a disappointment. I get now why next season is a new pirates track and not a new disney movie theme. No one else wanted their movie attached to this.

I only started a few events ago I don’t have the correct level 35s for the few free shards and I had earned just enough for a free 500 pack for zero shards.
And yeah I could probably grind up some multiplayer but I’m already at the point where those characters are far too slow compared to others to gain any MPR.
