This is the DW content I wait for. Always enjoy listening to John talk about all things drum related. Wow guys the kit sounds absolutely incredible! Nice job to everyone at DW.
Hi to Billy Mackin. Bill had a great drum shop through the 80's & 90's in Elsternwick, Melbourne. Great to see Bill continues to enjoy DW drums. I still have that oversized coffin hardware road case "you" sold me. I should have gifted it back to a true gentleman.
Man I love a burst finish on anything and everything but that wood is so beautiful I think it could've gone without and just been nice and natural looking. Either way... A dream kit. Beautiful work DW
Being an Aussie, seen the release back in 2018. Thought...o.m.g!!. I got to do it!. Did it and glad I have one. A truly beautiful work of art❤. Thank you John and the team😁
Definitely a salesman. But definitely in love with woods and the ability to work with woods from all over the world. So how can you not be excited? As a drummer it's the best job you could ever ask for.
I want to see many of the great players of the world on that kit doing their thing and hear the actual stutio sound of it, felt in love with this set... is unique.
DW has done it again. The best drum maker on the planet. This plus the spruce hybrids. Wish I could be at NAMM this year to try them all. I wonder what else DW has got for NAMM.
Beautiful looking drums. Hopefully one day I'll hear them in real life. I need a video like this each week lol. I love Johns stories and details about the birth of a new DW. My DWs are the best sounding kit I've owned
What a absolutely stunningly beautiful and gorgeously sounding kit. All wrapped up in a perfect story. I’m sold John I want one. Very nice editing, great job DW!
Simply Beautiful!! I like the stories associated with the kits, very interesting.Im a DW fan (own three kits) and very much enjoy the product. Keep up the good work!!
Tama all day!!! Lol but seriously whatever sounds best to your ears. DW is a great company but wayyy overpriced imo. I understand if u custom make it but they charge so much for kits that are already built as well and I used to have a 4 piece DW collectors maple mahogany kit that I paid WAYYYY too much for, more than 4,000 and I was content with it and played it for 2 years but something was missing and the hardware on dw’s aren’t that impressive from the mounting tech and entire hardware system and I bought a 5 piece tama starclassic BB hyperdrive kit for just a fraction of the price for just 1800 bucks in the exact finish and sizes I wanted shipped straight from the tama warehouse with the updated hardware brought down from the star drums like the quick lock tom and floor Tom leg brackets, air cushioned floor toms and swivel wing mounting system and entire hardware and mounting system is the best I’ve ever seen. They are built so well and durable at such a great price and imo look much better than the dw’s. And most important the sound and the feel of the starclassic destroys the DW, I knew I would never play anything but tama again so I sold my collectors kit and bought a tama starclassic full Bubinga and now use the Starclassic BB’s as my gigging kit. Also the lower mid level tama drums destroy every company in price and in quality. I have a tama silverstar kit as my practice kit at the rehearsal spot and paid 400 and it is better than the numerous DW performance series kits I’ve played and heard no joke. Just wanted to share my opinion. Don’t let this video fool you, just do whatever u think sounds and feels and looks best to your hands feet ears and eyes bro. Everyone is different and everyone has their own preference which is what makes music and especially drums so great. So many different opinions and styles but for me it’s tama all day everyday forever from now on. Tried every major company and a lot of smaller companies and there was always something missing till I got my tama Starclassics.
Andy Ham man I play a lot of Tama kits, and don't get me wrong Tama are great drums but I really never see anything top DW drums yes they can get a little pricey but look at the Quality you are getting when you get there drums like right now I have a DW design series and I love it but me personally I think DW has the best sounding and drums. But then again you got to look at DW stuff that's under the collector series that stuff sound good the performance and design series sound great if even PDP drum sounds phenomenal. And the DW Hardware I really haven't seen anything topic Harbor me person I think they have the best hardware it might be a little heavy LOL but it's worth it
I fell in love with DW as a company, but to my ears they just aren't the sound I want. I went with Tama Bubinga and I'm 100% satisfied. I have some DW snares that I love though, and would love to pick up the new Solid Shell variant of the Rogers Dynasonic that they put out. True-Sonic I think it's called?
it was VERY VERY Hard, at first, to choose between this kit and the 45th Anniversary kit, which sat side by side in boxes at Gelb Music.. of course i thought for a week and got the 45th as you know. One problem is i spend so much time staring at its beauty, i can go an hour and not play it... but i WAS quite tempted by THIS beauty... think i made the right choice... and the wife will not let me get both (since i already have a Peter Erskine designed DW Jazz kit in flame maple with Satin natural to regal blue fade. GORGEOUS!!!
Damn, thats a unique combination of sounds. it has sustain, depth and a subtle throatiness. Man i wish i could buy one of those snares. It sounds so good. But anyways good job fellas and girls at dw. I look forward to seeing your future innovations. And thank you John Good for pioneering the drum industry as well as Don Lombardi.
These kits look stunning! Luckily RUclips’s algorithm steered me towards these dw videos even though I don’t have dw drums. Being from Melbourne and seeing Tasmania involved put a twinkle in my eye and love this. Brilliant sound kit and John truly loves his work and really is a global company.
So beautiful. And elegantly designed. The sound seems dark, lower in pitch but still resonates clearly, openly and alive. The only thing I would change is a little less black. I'd show a little more of the natural shell's grain and color. Other than that, it's spot on for a DW high end kit's.
It may pop up somewhere maybe used....In my opinion, it’s worth the $15,000 since it’s unusual and very nice. It’s cheaper than a Harley motorcycle and will last longer. I would use it as a studio kit for recording and maybe play live once in a while. Is it really necessary? No. But it’s like owning a beautiful classic car and primarily for psychological appreciation.
I was watching another DW video, about how you make your drums, Which is great to see the full process on how they are made. & was thinking be cool some drums were made from Australian wood, I was thinking Murray River Red Gum at the time, its local to my area, & seeing a few drum manufactures using a "Gum" wood, then this was the next video on Autoplay, would be great to own such a kit but way out of my price range. Keep up the good work, DW will be on my short list when it come time to buy a pro level kit,
Awesome looking drum kit John, a fantastic Tasmanian timber and also my favorite, trim back that black a little more to the drum edge, and show that wood off some more, Striking, cheers.
This is truly a drummers dream! One of the most beautiful drum sets I saw in my life ! ......BTW you get drums made of australian or tasmanian blackwood since years from australian custom drum makers like Evetts Drums or Red Rocks Drums. Check them out - or other competent drum builders all around the world - before you say dw, Tama, Pearl or other mainstream companies are THE BEST in the world......
I've been trying to get my hands on black heart sassafras for instrument building for years. The stuff is becoming so scarce that at this point I would feel guilty about building anything with such a rare wood.
can you please send me that drum kit with cymbal stands and all the hardware for my birthday, I've always dreamed of owning my own dw collecters sereis drum kit, i would really appreciate it.
So very proud as an Australian to see our country and flag on the DW logo
Ticonderous1 I thought Australia was a continent.
We are a continent and the largest island however, we are only one country
Love John Good I could listen to him for hours what a company he built DW killer
This has to be the most beautiful looking kit I've ever seen.
This is the DW content I wait for. Always enjoy listening to John talk about all things drum related.
Wow guys the kit sounds absolutely incredible! Nice job to everyone at DW.

I have 2 of these kits!!!! One I play and the other NEVER LEFT THE BOXES!!! SO GOOD...AND SO GOOD FOR YOU!!!
Jesus dear Lord!! DW is truly a "custom drum" company. I want a Pure Tasmanian Timber drum set!!!
If I win the lottery I'm buying this kit...this is perhaps the most beautiful kit I've laid my eyes on.
Man I love a burst finish on anything and everything but that wood is so beautiful I think it could've gone without and just been nice and natural looking. Either way... A dream kit. Beautiful work DW
It killed me on the inside when they put the black on that wood grain :(
Being an Aussie, seen the release back in 2018. Thought...o.m.g!!. I got to do it!. Did it and glad I have one. A truly beautiful work of art❤. Thank you John and the team😁

NUMBER 1 IN OUR PLANET.
THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!
GOD BLESS YOU, DW.
I'm from Tasmania and love DW drums awesome to see!!
I want to see many of the great players of the world on that kit doing their thing and hear the actual stutio sound of it, felt in love with this set... is unique.
John Good does it again! Incredible story.
I've already contacted my vendor of choice and told them to put me on their list for a snare. Beautiful drums.
I have missed DW videos. This is the first in a long time.. Please keep them coming & wow that kit surpasses the #45 kit.
i'm am from Tasmania i love this drum kit
DW has done it again. The best drum maker on the planet. This plus the spruce hybrids. Wish I could be at NAMM this year to try them all. I wonder what else DW has got for NAMM.
I can't wait to buy my dream kit in another year or two. It's not a question or a doubt: It will be DW!
Wow John. This is beautiful. It was so great to have you here. Let's get you back.
Darryn Farrugia I have one of these kits in a hard satin finish, let me know if you are ever in Brisbane, I would love to hear you play it.
Gorgeous drums.
Beautiful drums !! Love the story behind it all
What a beautiful set of drums. I'm salivating!
Beautiful looking drums. Hopefully one day I'll hear them in real life.
I need a video like this each week lol. I love Johns stories and details about the birth of a new DW. My DWs are the best sounding kit I've owned
Wow beyond impressed. What an absolutely beautiful kit.

DW is my dream set.
Holy shit what tones!!! And the dark K cymbals are the perfect match. What a kit, my God, perfect!!
I could listen to John talk about tone woods and DW Drums all day!
:-)
Simply Beautiful!! I like the stories associated with the kits, very interesting.Im a DW fan (own three kits) and very much enjoy the product. Keep up the good work!!
I was about to make that change over to Tama but... DW is in my heart I can't leave... Man I LOVE DW....

You did a great job. Mine came pre installed .very nice job.
Beautiful kit John! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
WOW! That´s a beauty! Great story, John Good.
Tasmanian Blackwood is amazing as a decorative timber too not just awesome sound. It glows.

yes, i bought the 45th without even playing it... i trust DW that much.
Damn, thats a unique combination of sounds. it has sustain, depth and a subtle throatiness. Man i wish i could buy one of those snares. It sounds so good. But anyways good job fellas and girls at dw. What beautiful drums!! Wow!!!!
What and amazing instrument from my home!! super proud to be a Tasmanian and a loyal DW fan. Where do I sign up??
You start by selling your house to have enough to afford one
It may pop up somewhere maybe used....In my opinion, it’s worth the $15,000 since it’s unusual and very nice. It’s cheaper than a Harley motorcycle and will last longer. I would use it as a studio kit for recording and maybe play live once in a while. Is it really necessary? If a movie is ever made about John's story and DW; Tom Hanks should play John Good.
George Clooney
Man i just love your stories i dont know how you do it sir or where the ideas come from but wow truly amazing

i dont play dw nor interested in getting one. now i want one! the toms sound remembers me to pearl reference kit though
Absolutely stunning, especially with the black nickel harware. I desperately want one even though I'm from New Zealand haha!
P.S It would be awesome if you looked into some native New Zealand Timbers on day!
Best wood story ever.
Guy could sell a dead parrot....
Alex M he’s a stiff! That! is an ex-parrot!
Petey.
Pretty bird, Pretty bird.
This is no sales pitch he is that enthusiastic about his craft. Really great and knowledgeable guy, what you see is what you get.
Our pet's heads are falling off!! 🤣
DW you need to put up a video of Virgil Donati slaying it on this kit. That would be historic!
Great to see Bill Mackin
Wow! It sounds amazing! And looks great to!
Incredible sounds. I wonder how much is eq'ing but it's a gorgeous sound
Absolutely beautiful
They seem to have a "softness" right after the initial attack, these sound beautiful.
Our Aussie flag emblazoned on a DW kit nice !!!!!!
awesome looking flag and it's exceptionally good looking on those drums w/ that background.
This didn't age well..
this is kind of drums that l love.... and l want to play it for the rest of my life....the dw drums....i love dw drums so much......☺☺☺☺☺☺☺
Top! DW + Drums = The Best..
Puppa Santana amen!

I'm waiting for the New Zealand Rimu drum kit to come out next. 😉😉
I think that Tasmanian Blackwood the most beautiful sad I've ever seen
Love the badges.
This can’t remain limited edition! At least not the snare. I’d love a top edge Tasmanian snare!!!
Beautiful!!!!
This is truly a drummers dream! One of the most beautiful drum sets I saw in my life ! ......BTW you get drums made of australian or tasmanian blackwood since years from australian custom drum makers like Evetts Drums or Red Rocks Drums. Andreas Breitwieser
Don't forget BRADY drums!
I already OWNED a Brady set, wonderful, made of Jarrah wood......it was the first generation available in Europe back in 1991......
.... I can't form words after seeing this video. Total other demention.
That is beautiful
By far the sexiest drums outthere.
John Good has this marketing thing down to a fine art.
I've been trying to get my hands on black heart sassafras for instrument building for years. The stuff is becoming so scarce that at this point I would feel guilty about building anything with such a rare wood.
looks insane!
Outstanding job John!
What are the kit sizes? &
What sizes can we order the snare drum in?
Tasmanian Devil ! i'd like to work for DW and learn to build my own collectors set? If i could get there i wouldn't mind learning how to.
I want this drun kittt😭
Wow, just WOW!!
Very nice greets from Germany i Like that Fantasic

Sherbet
lindo demais show meu sonho ter bateria DW
great drums :) too expensive for me right now
When are they going to be Available?
You should try them with Kangaroo drum skins!
kit sounds so good even in the recording
I think all the drums in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra you kangaroo skin heads
wow they are so very pretty and tasteful
Couldn't find it anywhere on the site
Looks gorgeous. Would be nice to hear the kit alone, without music.
Where/when can I pre-order a kit?
the way that thing looks you shoould order some more wood
We been making drums form these timber for years all Aussie drum builders 😫
and now DW do as well......they are the first international major drum manufacturer to do so.
So what we got Tons of those here nothing new
Siyavash Seysan I’m an Aussie drummer for over 20 years and this is the first time I’ve ever seen drums made from this timber
can you please send me that drum kit with cymbal stands and all the hardware for my birthday, I've always dreamed of owning my own dw collecters sereis drum kit, i would really appreciate it.
I wish I played drums
Sure seems hard to find a demo of them being played.
The audio in the background is the Tasmanian kit
I am going to be broke all year now....🤣 gotta have it.
That black paint just ruined that veneer
