Have been bricklaying for 30yrs but have never seen a corner block used to set a profile like that. Just goes to show we’re never to old to learn something new. I’ll defo be using that method. 👍👍
Liking that idea . We used to nail up a roof baton. That’s a big old plot your on too ! We are still working up here in Lancashire throwing in trench bock in the footings 🧱👍🏽
Started in masonry business in 1976 in 1993 became a foreman in the commercial side of things schools, office buildings, industrial. It's always good to watch a good crew get after it. Do you guys ever use rebar in your block walls ?
So no cracks either. I am in Texas and its pretty common to start a big wall with an horizontal Bond Beam with at least 2 number 5s. It stops cracks well
thanks for video, but i have a question, over here when building with aerated concrete blocks we use glue instead of mortar, any reason why you guys are using mortar instead of specialized glue? thanks
should look into using glue/adhesive for aerated concrete blocks, the bonds between blocks are stronger, thermal insulation is better, because joints are much thinner and mortar thermal insulation properties are worse than blocks themselves and the price increase vs mortar is not that great.
What are the tools used in this project. I saw a saw being used. What kind is it. Is that cinder block, cement block, concrete block. What it is called or what material the blocks are made of? Thank you.
By the time it took to set them profiles up, I would have had the first course down. By the time you set your lines up I would have had a corner built doing my own cuts, by the time your on your fith course I would have finished the wall. No joke.
Lee Moore I was just pulling a line of that profile wasn’t butting into the wall. The other side had wall ties in each course hard to see them in the vid though.
Interesting video and good idea....always a few assholes with their "thats shit, I'm better, can build it faster" comments...keep up the good work lads😉👍
Am I missing something here. How are you tighing the wall you are building on to the existing wall? And why are you pointing block work that I am sure will be covered in plaster board and skimmed.
The profile you see me put up I’m only pulling the line of not building to it but the other side has wall ties what I’m building to. And it’s required by the firm we work for 🤦🏼♂️
@@CharlieCollison I see Charlie do you are doing as you have been asked therefore, there is thankfully no come back on you and your fellow workers but I know when I build to walls that intersect like that the blocks like brick work would have bonded with out using ties. I have seen wall construction like this more often than when I started out but I am not convinst it's good practice. DD. Keep up the good work. I did like how you put the profile though and I will be using that technique when I need to.
Your labourer is a newbie or just lazy, he can't even count the courses for the blocks to cut lol A good brickies labourer should always know roughly what and how many bricks are in each wall he's looking after
@@cheshstyles there's good labourers and bad ones. Brickies labouring is a shit job you have to what to do it. If you don't you'll struggle. You're crew will struggle because of you. I did it for 3 years and I was rapid. Done 4 and 1s in Australia. No easy task. 35 degree heat in summer. Lost about 10kgs in 6 months of summer keeping 4 brickies going everyday myself
Rapid 101 spot on! I was a labourer for 5 years to my old man and brother. I had to mix the pallets, load out, knock up and keep em going all day. I've watched a few of these videos today and can't believe how spoilt they are. I won't hide it I am definitely jealous! If you're going to do something physical for a long time then you better find the easiest way of doing it or you are not going to enjoy retirement
A video 6 mins long... Tbh mate a waste of time to that way. Takes way to long... Plus 2 men??? And another holding the camera... Im doing this a long time bud... Your laying the breeze blocks with one hand ffs. In front of the camera.. Your worst video..
jimmy bhoy1888 I was showing how to do it. I can do it myself in a bout 30 seconds 👍 what’s wrong with laying them 1 handed? They weigh about 3 kgs. One of my videos has to be my worst 😂 chill your beans

Everyones rained of watching RUclips today good idea with the line blocks, your uploads have good content and your penny's worth is worth watching👍
Loving the level + corner blocks set up thanks for taking the time to video your work much appreciated 👍👍👍👍

you not rained off today then? been a while since I layed trench block wish I got a few vids of me in the footings!
Charlie Collison After 9 years I can safely say foundations are overrated !

I’ve never seen rebar in blockwork on a build in the UK. We don’t really have earthquakes so it’s not needed.
So no cracks either. I am in Texas and its pretty common to start a big wall with an horizontal Bond Beam with at least 2 number 5s. It stops cracks well
Like the set up with the corner blocks and levels. 👍🏻👍🏻
Proper ASMR. Watching pro's do their thing in real time. None of those "Argh what they doing" moments.
i know ur not hitting the level directly but that clamp will crack that bubble one day
thanks for video, but i have a question, over here when building with aerated concrete blocks we use glue instead of mortar, any reason why you guys are using mortar instead of specialized glue? thanks
jamir I’ve never used glue on anything I’ve built mate. We build traditional build housing which is always mortar no mater what we’re building

Nice clean work space 👌
Lovely lil trick dat
Simple this can be done of course when you are waiting on muck coming.
Why is the internal wall not tied in, it’s all upright 🤔?
Because they forgot 😯
Did you not watch the whole video ?
Good idea lads. Nothing beats a bit of magic radio too.
eamon moore magic radio is depressing.
Where do you get your profile levels from bro? The corner block as a spacer is mint
Adam Hayward Amazon 2m staco level pal
@@CharlieCollison cheers man 👊🏽
Dumb question I can't see it, presume the line is pulled off the two levels as normal? And moved up as needed ?
yea thats it in a nutshell!
@@CharlieCollison tks. why the line blocks underneath ? What's the space for ?
Man what type of blocks are y’all using that you can saw with a hand saw! Crazy!
Bearded Bricky there thermolite blocks mate
How heavy are they? Our 4 inch block run about 25-29 pounds or 11-13 kilos
Bearded Bricky there about 8 - 10 kilos I’d say
I was wondering what the hell them block were made of.
What are the tools used in this project. I saw a saw being used. What kind is it. Is that cinder block, cement block, concrete block. What it is called or what material the blocks are made of? Thank you.
Probably one of the easiest blocks to cut with hammer and bolster, yet here we are
Where is the ex met or wall ties to tie the wall in ? Did I miss it ??

Alwyn Maguire Your my hero 💪🏼
And my hero🙈
And mine 👏
By the time it took you to write your comment I'd have built all the internal walls and be sitting in the Fox and hounds on my second pint
Aye and rough as toast no doubt! Profiles all day!!!!
Great Blockwork lad! Top Gang. Got many more videos coming!!?
Really like that profile set up !! What did you use to tie in the blockwork to the flank ?
Cheers
Lee Moore I was just pulling a line of that profile wasn’t butting into the wall. The other side had wall ties in each course hard to see them in the vid though.
@@CharlieCollison charlie, why ain't that fella using the Blockbuster I sent ya, a lot quicker?
How does the line go once profiles set on the walls? I take it the line block goes on same side as the Dutch pin and line wraps around the back???
Where do you get the board stands and what make ? Best idea
There £50 each
Great tip lads 👍🏻
What are them levels you use for profiles?
I need to learn this coz my bricky hasn't a clue
Good idea with the corner blocks mate use weep holes myself but might try your method 👍decent channel

3 spots on a little run like that. Your spoilt.
I'm still trying to work out why the internal wall is not tied in???? Dont see any ties sticking out on that plot whatsoever.
what the hell are the blocks made of that you can cut them with a carpenters saw
Thompson MacLean it’s a block saw. And there thermo lite celcon blocks 👍
@@CharlieCollison i wish we used them here in the states would be nice not to to lift such heavy concrete blocks all the time

Jeremiah Carey maybe mate. Haven’t yet though
Standard procedure
Don’t understand how you’ve put the line on
Someone forgot wallties, that wall had nothing tying it in.
Brian mcc no I didn’t 👍
