Well done! Here's why. I am a professional educator who is too often frustrated by YT videos that do not honor the "Title" given them by the maker. For example, "How to stream audio through your Rodecaster pro into Zoom." Since I'm looking for this, I select and watch a 10-minute video with that title. At precisely 6:45 in the 10-minutes, a 32-second statement is made telling the Viewer, "...and you can listen to music by plugging your iOs device into this port..." End of instruction. Really? Well, what I'm saying here is "Dottotech" seems to have figured out all we want is to learn how to do exactly what he says he is going to do. THANK YOU! If there were more like you, I'd waste far less time slogging through needless and often pointless banter while trying to get to the point. Again, THANK YOU! Thank you for mastering the art and science of presentation.

This was the best one i have found yet. I never quite understood what "turn on original sound" meant.

  • @justinewalters1620

I found a couple more things to do with the original sound. I changed the setting, but it was still a little choppy. When I went into the meeting, I clicked on more and then had to click enable original sound in the meeting and then had to mute all participants. It was perfect!!! Thank you so much!! We did not even need a mic or anything. The samsung tablet picked up the stereo sound and the instructor voice clearly. Hallelujah!!!

My daughter's competitive volleyball team has continued to have conditioning / strengthening workouts as well as practices via Zoom once daily since this Covid-19 situation came into being and it's been working nicely in keeping the girls active/motivated and accountable for when the remainder of their season *hopefully* is able to finish-out in a few months.

This is, by far, the best instruction I've seen on using Zoom in this way. I teach guitar via Zoom and have been struggling to get consistently good audio. I've watched every video and read every article I could find and none of them touched on some the subjects you mentioned. I'm going to give this a try and see if it helps.
In case you're interested, my audio chain is:
Guitar > Fractal Audio Axe-FX > Mac Mini via USB
Mic>audient iD14 interface > Mac Mini via USB
Both of these signals go to my DAW (Logic Pro X) and are routed from Logic to Zoom via "Loopback".
I prefer to use my studio monitors instead of headphones to monitor my student's Zoom as well as my audio.
    I use a dual-camera setup:
Logitech Webcam > Mac Mini via USB
Panasonic Lumix G85 > Cam Link 4k > Mac Mini
I route and control these via Ecamm Live. I would prefer to use something else to avoid the subscription fee but I'm not aware of anything that allows me tp select "Virtual Camera" with the Lumix.

One option I've used is a smartphone + earbuds for better audio when 3+ feet away from the camera. You join the meeting twice: once by computer and once by phone. You need to *leave* audio on the computer to prevent echo, Or bluetooth earbuds connected to the computer that will stay connected at whatever distance the yoga, dance, pilates class is.

Great tips, thank you very much! I do Zoom travelogue conferences as a guest panelist, and my problem has been incorporating my mic with music. I am using a Yamaha mixer with a digital output connected directly into my laptop, and while I can monitor the audio that is being sent to my MacBook Pro laptop, I have no way to monitor what the laptop itself is transmitting to Zoom other than than the Zoom test audio panel which you showed with the speaker output at 3:09.
My question: How are you monitoring the audio being sent by the computer (not your mixer) to Zoom?
During a live presentation, I don't want to have to ask my audience how it sounds to them - it's kinda unprofessional in my books.
    Subscribed!

Excellent info provided hereby. One question, Steve, what if I want to perform from my digital piano thru Zoom for my partners in the meeting? How do I get the sound from the piano R & L output in the MacBook so as to broadcast in Zoom? thank you in advance for any info or feedback you may provide me with. Cheers.

I am teaching yoga on zoom and viewed your tips for music teachers and fitness instructors. I was able to set it for turn on original sound but going into advanced under screen sharing, I don't have the three options that you showed with the choice for "music or computer sound only." I don't have those three boxes you showed. Just a list about green trim, etc. Hope you can help. Thanks

Hey Jean, I think you’re probably in the wrong menu, look at the bottom of your screen and the tools for screen sharing, I think you might be in the video options screen

Hi. I have the same problem. I have tried what you suggested but I don't get the options you do.

Some audio settings are only in the Zoom desktop app from my understanding, hope that helps!

I am planning to buy a headphone with a mic that I'll use for a variety of purposes including my online classes on Zoom. I use a lot of materials with audio for my class. I want my students to be able to hear the audio while I'm using my headphones. Is that possible?

How do you fix the mic and audio if you're using a mixer, external webcam with built-in mic(that you don't want to use), and a wireless mic for a fitness class?

Question! Do I turn off the other setting for music teachers before I do the second portion for fitness instructors?
