Probably because the animation is kind of garbage. It had like 1 or 2 fight scenes that were actually drawn, but by the end of the anime it was more like narrated manga. Kind of a shame, they actually improved the pacing of the anime by rearranging some manga events.
Because while Puella Magi Madoka was hella dark it was still mainly fantasy with magical girl sakura old style cutiness to it, so it was far removed from our reality. SpecOps not only deals with dark themes, they deal with HUMANITY'S dark issues AS WELL as involve military and real world super powers and other references to reality (child neglect, abuse, grape, slavery, corrupt govs...) and for some this is too much real life or too close to home to be able to do escapism.
Played Dark Souls 2 for the 2nd time since I didn't complete my first one, went to fight the sentinels at lost bastille and died twice already, I opened this link and played it on as background music, got my gameface on with the music tuned up to max, I felt faster and agile then beat the crap out of all three of them on the 3rd try. Good music, gets me pumped while in combat. Might reward myself a human effigy for once for doing good later.
@@Guren4540 Debatable. I personally prefer the slight restructuring that the anime did (eg: Having the summer festival thing happen right before the Naha attack as opposed to after, and having Sayako and Nozomi present for the aforementioned attack), but the manga does have its own merits.
@@NEETKitten Can't knock your personal preference of course. But aside from moving the time of events, Was it actually good? The voice acting was good though.
@@Guren4540 I personally think it was. Aside from a few minor changes ("magical calorie rollup" sounds fucking stupid in English or Japanese), I think it's close to equal to the manga. That said, I'm not a fan of one thing regarding the anime: Kurumi. More specifically, the fact that she's portrayed as much more cold and sadistic in the anime. The tradeoff being that M-Squad Sniper Dude (forget his real name) isn't quite as weird, and the M-Squad in general is just a little more fleshed out. So, I dunno. I think it really does all come down to personal preference.
Really wish they'd make another season they left it off at a cliffhanger and tbh it was a really good underrated anime. Love this ost especially at 1:02.

@@NEETKitten Glitter Force Hugtto also needs to use this song the final battle between the Precure and Ruru AND leave out the entire ending scene where she is comforted by the baby girl and becomes a good guy.
@@NEETKitten I wish Funimation had gotten the rights to Pastel Yumi so that they could reedit the US version to focus on Rapture Asuka instead of Pastel Yumi and have a dark and miserable tone.
