    Great video.. on the comparison of Florida vs Spain cost of living, we should take into consideration Income tax, to be fair.. Income taxes in Spain are from another planet (from an American's perspective), including wealth taxes. Florida offers no state income tax, no wealth tax but high housing insurance costs.

    You should have made your study about Valencia better. In Valencia airbnb renting is regulated and not all areas in the center are aloud to rent in airbnb and only first floor apartments can be made to airbnb. Stupid to compare apartment in historic center in Valencia and recidencial area in Tampa, and say the apartment hasnt got pool, they didnt made pools 100 years ago and in the old center doesnt have even space for that. For around 1000e you can find 2 bedroom never apartments outside the center that has pools.

    Interesting! What are the biggest challenges of living or retiring in Valencia? Is it the cost of living, bureaucracy, or something else? Also, how does Valencia compare to other cities in Spain for expats? I’d love to hear more about the pros and cons!

    • @the_expat
      @the_expat  3 дня назад

      Of all the challenges, the rising cost of living is probably the biggest one. However, with the increasing controls over Airbnb units, there is a chance they will start to stabilize or even drop.

    Visited both Valencia and Barcelona recently. Barcelona is an amazing city but everyone there is constantly worried about crime. It´s not a good feeling at all. Valencia is pretty and safe, clean (mostly), but really dull. Mallorca´s protests are ridiculous. They have nothing other than tourism and should be focusing their efforts on pressuring the government directly to regulate the number of flights and cruiseships bringing tourists to the island per day. Greed is the reason behind all of the problems and has nothing to do with tourists or foreigners.
