I too was glad when my mother died as she was a black hole of need that drained me of any sort of ability to live my life as I saw fit. I have been in therapy now for about a year and a half and have already made a lot of progress, but still have a lot of work ahead to re-learn how to live as an independent adult. I saw your interview recently where you got emotional and I cried for you and myself which is healing because everytime I reach that emotional inner child I am processing a part of the trauma I received since I was very young.
