The bit with the cans was really cool because it's a good example of how pressure works. P=F/A (Pressure equals force over an area). Alone, single cans get wrecked by the car because all that force is being applied to a small surface area. Put the cans together though, and you increase the surface area and dramatically lower the amount of pressure - which is why the cans are (mostly) unscathed.
