    Im adopted not knowing my birth family. My adopted grandad was from ireland and im proud to say i have irish ancestry if not by blood but by a lot of love❤. Rip shane.

      Hi lm was also adopted at 7years old, and like you lve never known my birth parents who were also lrish.. Rip Shane..

    Wow something runs in the family there; she’s also a very riveting and charismatic storyteller. You can tell the art of the story was instilled at a young age.

      What sad outcome? He lived until 65 and was a major alcoholic. I’d say he did well.

      Siobhan was young and was shielded from a lot of the anti Irish sentiment. The majority of people in Britain didn't know or care about what was happening in Northern Ireland in the 70's

    If Shane Macgowan were a footballer, he'd have played for England. In music, there was more money in being Irish, playing Irish style music. Identity is often a career choice.

      @@spurs7151 Jeremy openly had dialogue, Thatcher's government forbade it but was having secret meetings with the IRA. Blair openly met them & with Clinton & the Irish government on board reached a peace agreement. British military admitted the IRA could not be beaten. It was a 30 year old stalemate of carnage. IRA decommissioned & Sinn Fein its political wing entered politics & are now the largest party in control in the North. Your Military might beaten to a stalemate by volunteer students, farmers & the working class. Same will happen in Palestine, justice will prevail. As Bobby Sands said, "Our revenge will be the laughter of our children" 😏
