It all began with the death of Jon Arryn...
PieterPel
Not the crisis in the realm.
+Deguu68 Yes the crisis in the realm
PieterPel It all began when Rhaegar Targaryen won the tourney at Harrenhal and giving the prize crown of roses to Lyanna Stark whom he later kidnaps, King Aerys I targaryen then proceeds to kill Eddard Stark's father and brother, seeking revenge for both this and the kidnapping of his sister Eddard Stark and Robert Baratheon rebel with the backing of House Arryn and Tully. so no it didn't all start at the death of Jon Aryyn, read the books
David Campbell wether he kidnapped her and raped her or she willingly left with him has yet to be officially disclosed
Jon Arryn was killed because he knew about Cersie and Jamie
So basically it all started with Cersie fucking Jamie.
Rob stark was not self proclaimed king.He was chosen by his banner men.
Emilce Diaz they're HIS banner men therefore Northern (or self) proclaimed
If it makes you happy he was a the King proclaimed by the North but they are more or less correct
+Niverious - self proclaimed means you proclaimed something yourself. not your banner men. "described as or proclaimed to be such by oneself, without endorsement by others." so he was not in any sense self proclaimed
Nicholas Říha He was also supported by rivermen, who technically weren’t his own bannermen
Why all u always wants to correct people
Did she call Stannis a pretender to the throne?
filthy traitor! Her knee shall bend
Doesn't matter, shell bend knee anyway
Well, he's no longer a pretender to the throne, cause he's dead.
He burned Shireen, he deserves everything he got, the scumbag.
Vik Ing Are you stupid? One girl < thousands of soldiers.
Turan Dursun Stannis fanboy spotted. The guy could have eaten a baby on screen and you dolts would still fawn over him like middle school girls over their pop star idols.
Face it, the chump was a terrible person that murdered his own brother and daughter on his mad quest for power. He would have been a terrible leader, and I'm glad he went out like a bitch.
Wrong sigil for house Arryn, that's Mallister
daniel rojas No its a falcon for Arryn
Both Mallister and Arryn have a falcon for their sigil, but that is not the Arryn falcon, it is the Mallister falcon.
Todd Gabor Mallister is a white falcon on a purple field, while arryn in a blue falcon against the moon.
YOU FUCKING DUMB FUCK
daniel rojas omg
Stannis isn't a fucking pretender - the iron throne is rightfully his!!!
nooooo daenarys! HES A USURPER. also targareans are peng btw
He burned his daughter alive he deserves to die
What the hell??? No it isnt!! The throne belongs to Viserys Targaryen who died thus making Daenerys the rightful heir. But if you watched season 7 already, you would know that Jon Snow is the rightful heir. Fuck Stannis
primbasaurus rex or was
Robb made it past the twins and fought against the lannisters and he was only killed later. Not while he was marching south. And he wasn't executed he was killed in the red wedding. Get your goddamn facts right.
All started with death of Jon Arryn....and Petyr Baelish was behind it....so we can say that Petyr Baelish started the Game of Thrones
Animesh Fulzele true
It all Started when Stannis Baratheon told Jon Arryn he was suspicious of Joffrey's Parentage
Petyr is the best character anyway
Tino was*
"Chaos is a ladder". He creates chaos, solves some problems of it, and people reward him with castles, wives, etc.
Also the person who made this clearly isn't a game of thrones fan and just decided to research this
Calum Greer haha sooo true
Well duh she thought the winter was coming from the east
Calum Greer she also couldn't pronounce most of the names correctly
Yes, that was obvious.
She butchered some of the names too.
You didnt mention Ned or Tyrion, both main characters
She did mention Ned Stark but she's talking about the political changes in Westeros/Essos not characters.
wail rimouch Yeah because neither of them have been at all relevant for the politics of Westeros, its not like they were both Hands, right?
Isak Källsmyr It's not about what they were it's about what they did to affect Westeros's politics.
Some things Ned did that had a big impact:
*discovered Joffreys parentage
*Informed Stannis and Renly, leading them to present their own claims
*Got arrested and killed, which made Robb go hunting for revenge
*Essentially started the war of 5 kings
Some things Tyrion did that had a big impact:
*Stopped Stannis at the Blackwater, saving Joffrey, Cersei and the Lannister claim to the throne
*Killed Tywin, leading to the division and decline of house
Lannister
Isak Källsmyr I never claimed that their actions had no impact on the world but they did not have an impact of the political landscape. borders did not change and no houses lost or gained territories thanks to their actions.
So many mistakes...
So fucking many.
ChapterFourBand Can you name 3 please...
The whole push for the story was whn littlefinger had Jon Arryn killed, not when robert died
Robert didn't die, he was killed by Cersei's drugging his wine
Joffrey and Tywin weren't assassinated at the same time
If the Tyrells killed Joffrey so that they could have more power, why did they then have Margaery marry Tommen, which still has her in position of queen.
The maps have a bunch of errors too, too many to count.
You really think all those things you just said are important for the overall plot of the show?
1) I can Guarantee you 70% of the people who watch the show have no idea who Jon Arryn is or forgot.
2) Getting killed is just a different way of dying.
3) Tywin died 7 episodes after Joffrey with probably only a couple of weeks in-between.
4) You do realize the Queen of Thorns and Little finger are the ones that planned the death of Joffrey right? They say it in the show. They did it so that Margaery could marry Tommen and manipulate him easier than they could with Joffrey.
5) Yes the map has some errors but you do realize this is a video for someone that has never seen GoT right? This isn't a 1hr in-depth analysis of the show, just a small little recap.
probably would have been better had it been more precise though.
The amount of mis-pronunciations in this hurt so much
She clearly hasn't seen Game of Thrones
Sam Phillips nice profile picture
@@angloempire6935 Canakkale İs İmpasseble
2:45 isn't quite right. The Tyrells didn't kill Joffrey to position themselves; they already had that with Margery's marriage to Joffrey. Lady Olena Tyrell did it because Sansa informed her how evil Joffrey was and she decided Tommen would be a better king and more fit husband for Margery, even if a little more manageable than Joffrey.
But Olena's inquiry of Sansa about Joffrey's true nature proves that it was a deciding factor in her decision to assassinate him, not the fact that Tommen was simply more impressionable.
You forgot the burning question every up-to-date Game of Thrones fan is asking while waiting for the new season - "What the fuck's a Lommy?"
Robert Baratheon brought stability to the seven kingdoms?! LMAO
Relative stability. The guy set up the conflict to come with his failures as ruler, no doubt, but while he was alive there was no civil war, so there was at least that.
+Vik Ing yeah.. while alive he kept peace (cept for Iron Islands) but a weak ruler creates a vacuum of power. After his death that vaccum tore everything up
Taylor Beckett
Yep, but the point was that Robert did bring stability to the Kingdoms during his life. It wasn't stability set up to continue after he was gone, but stability nonetheless.
Roberts only problem was getting married to cersei lannister doing that he gave the lannisters a huge amount of power that they used for their own personal gain
British Countryball
True, but I don't think there were alternatives. The Lannisters played their hand and declared for him, handed him King's Landing on a silver platter. If he had turned them away the war would have just kept going, but this time it would be a depleted North/Eyrie vs the full weight of the Lannisters and possibly the Reach (they were laying siege on the Storm Lands, after all).
Just a tough situation either way.
Don't watch this. Watch the show
Memefessor don't watch this. don't watch the show. read the books
dont watch this. dont watch the show. dont read the books. ignore it all completely.
Muhammad Pope books are for nerds
Books are better
How about watching the show AND reading the books
I'm more into Westeros history than actual World history .... fml
These pronunciations hurt my ears
Your stupid comment hurts my eyes.
my back just hurts
I like shapes
care to explain
@@lebourse moan then
Sooooo many mistakes. Why make a video like this if you don't know what's going on?
Keith Austin Bitch where?
ZoopRanger For a start, Tywin died after Tommen ascended to the throne. Not before.
+Anime Guru There is a difference between ascending to the Throne and getting a full Coronation
Sure there are a mistakes, however these mistakes are not crucial information to the intended users of this video. As a 7 minute explanation, it is clearly meant for people that (a) haven't watched GoT before and want a simple explanation of what its about (so they can decide to commit to watching it for example), or (b) have watched them, although haven't been paying too much attention and want a little recap.
You're crying over the fact there are mistakes in a 7 minute clip of someone trying to briefly explain 5 seasons of a complicated story. Also Jared, simply because they mention that Tommen succeeded to the thrown a few seconds after they mention Tywin was murdered, it doesn't suggest it happened in this order. Stop trying to have a go at a video for succeeding in its intended purpose - Simply explaining the story. Get a grip..
why dont you go and make one sir
the greyjoys took winterfell and large parts of the north before robb died, also they failed to mention that robb was also king of the riverland
trident is its independent name
omg these pronunciations are terrible...
"Peter Bilelish" 😂
iTzVisionz Renly "Barratheeon"
iTzVisionz deenerius
Oh no not bajlish
Margaery Teerel
I think this video was a perfect 7 min sum up for people that have zero idea of what's going on in the world of Game of Thrones. People who are complaining obviously know more than what's in this incredibly short and condensed version of the story, and therefor shouldn't be watching it in the first place.
Dan W. Most of the complaints stem from the fact that she mispronounced like every other word and talk super fucking slow.
Your order of events surrounding Tommen's ascendancy and Tywin's death are wrong. He died AFTER Tommen took the throne.
yea but that didnt really have any considerable effects on the story
This less than 10 minute summary of the 1st 5 seasons feels much better paced and far less rushed than the last two seasons
I know that there are few mistakes, but overall video is great. And I love how they DO NOT pick the side while telling the story like most do. I hate when Stark fans describe Robb, Jon and Eddard as angels or how Daenerys fans over exaggerate her powers and turn blind eye to her luck.... As I said, great vid
This is excellent. I love the "News Anchor" tone of voice. It also confirmed what I thought was going on but wasn't sure. So bravo for great visuals.
"It all started with the death of Robert Baratheon." Aaaaaand No.
"A decision questioned my his men who then dispose of him"😂 Love this video👍🏾
This video is useless. It skips over the most interesting parts of the show, and it's boring. Just watch the show, people.
Just read the books it's more interesting and there are more stuff in there that they didn't put in the show
Vaxo Gakh Baby steps, my friend.
the size of those books scare me
Benjamin Rome Clarke but there extremely easy reads. I never read books and I had no problem staying focused on them
Deacon Dank ... their. voice texting always messes that up
This is a great summary for those of us who don't read the books, but I've got to admit its still almost mind numbingly complex.
Un-informative video
Why are you people so negative? LMAO
This is a great effort and it serves as a reminder. Not everyone is on the same level and for those that believe they know EVERYTHING about GOT, why do you even look summaries on RUclips... can't you allow people that need catch up to watch in peace?
Hlompho Maseko The criticisms aren't stemming for the video's depth of knowledge, but it's lack thereof- many facts are completely wrong or left out, which could mislead many new viewers.
Okay sir. I understand.
How did you manage to make GOT boring??
Was interesting to me.
GoT was always boring
GekkeBulgaar lol
lack of B( . )y( . )Bs
loved the music choice
I feel like the person who made this video hasn't actually read or seen game of thrones, but is telling us what's happened having being told what's happened by someone who actually has seen it. She calls Ned stark "the former king's council" not the former hand of the king. Suspicious.
Matthew Court How would someone who has never watched GoT even know what a Hand of a king is? A Hand is counsel to the king. You do realize this video is a quick summary for people who haven't watched the show right?
I am now going to summarize Supernatural:
A show about 2 guys fighting demons and being gods chosen warriors on earth.
(How'd i do, i have never seen an episode, is my synopsis still valid? No I am a fucking idiot if i think i my opinion on supernatural is worth anything.)
Loved the presentation!
Robb got much further than the twins he only went back for the red wedding
" *Self-proclaimed* king of the North, Robb stark" I'm triggered... how dare you
Stannis was NOT a, "pretender!"
By the laws of succession, he was next in line to the Iron Throne after his brother, King Robert Baratheon's death.
Of course, Robert himself didn't become King by succession, but by conquest.
So, for a not insignificant number of people in Westeros still loyal to the Targaryens,
Robert was considered a, "usurper."
Everyone else was just taking advantage of the power vacuum left in the wake of Robert's death.
(Except Robb Stark, at first. He was just initially trying to free his father and sisters. It was his bannermen that named him, "King in the North," and turned on him only after he broke a sacred vow.)
(And, it's pronounced, "Bay-lish," not, "Bye-lish."!!!)
Wow this was so helpful, thank you for this informative video! I needed this!
You people do realized this is a video for someone that has little to no experience in GoT right? Is it REALLY important to add Jon Arryn (a man who 70% of the people who WATCH the show probably forgot)? Or that it was Robb's banner-man who declared him king, not himself? And Robert Baratheon did bring Prosperity into the realm, they even call it "A Golden Era" in the books (for you Book "Lovers"). Before you start commenting stupid shit please think "is this important for the over all plot of the show?" and "Is this important to mention this to someone who has never seen GoT?", Please use your pretty little heads people... Its not there just to brush it. If you wanna watch a in-depth analysis of everything then go watch one of those 2hr long videos... And really pronunciations... you're whining about that?...
The bad pronunciations are symptoms of them doing about 20 minutes of wiki research before making this. It's clear evidence of their ineptitude imo.
Um, Jon Arryn is one of the most important characters who died before the series started. Without him, the rebellion wouldn't of happened and it's his death that made Ned go to King's Landing. I can guarantee that more than 30% of show watchers know who he is
Good job, precise and concise.
This is what you get when show plebs think they understand what's going on.
Raizer yea talk about the Blackfyre rebellion and then we will talk. Just kidding I'm not that big of a douchebag
I think being a douchebag has more to do with someone who knows very little but wants to gain some views by oversimplifying a complex (for a reason) story in a way that simply doesn't do it justice. If you do something, do it properly, not half assed.
Raizer I was just saying acting all superior cause you read some books is kinda douchy
The way I worded it sure does give off that vibe, but that wasn't my (only) intent. I'm just a perfectionist and this, no matter how graphically pleasing, simply isn't good enough.
not superior but we get the full intended story
brilliant work and summary
I knew the person didnt know what she was talking about when she said petyr BYE-LISH
OOP AND DENEIERIEYES
Brilliant Explanation
Is this narrated by a robot?
Very good video, I was surprised how easy was to understand. I barely understood 20% of all this in the first 4 seasons, but you explain it so well :)
Stannis is the one true king ... "pretender" my ass xd
acc daenarys is. Mad king may be mad, but he was descended 200 years. Dany is his daughter (PENG) but Robert is an usurper. Illegitimate claim. Obviously none of this is influenced by the fact that I've got a huge crush on Emilia Clarke XD
Acc, (done history A level) a claim by conquest requires the victorious king's name to be on the throne for 50 years. In GOT, it was only 25, including Joffery and Tommen. Also in the show, no one questions the Targearenes rule they even call it successful, whereas a lady with 3 fucking dragons isn't happy with robert. 1V1 me.
Jacob Carey where is that rule ever stated?? that 50 year on the throne thing?
AQA history book 2017-2020
Jacob Carey sorry what’s that .. is that an actual history book?
Thanks for the video. As a mere show watcher, I often lacked a sense of where all those things are happening in relation to each other, exactly, and this video helped that a lot.
Terx Pahseyton it was pretty simple to me. I don't see how other people don't grasp it as easy.
We are simply not as brilliant as you. Most likely inherited genetic inferiority. Plz impregnate my wife for me so that my son can be more worthwhile than I am
it was also a kind of question, i would like to know why you didn't grasp it as easily as me. i was in no way assuming that you were unintelligent
Terx Pahseyton I suppose I could of asked in a less seemingly condescending way
Robb Stark wasn't self proclaimed King of the North. His fellow northmen gave him the title
I know how hard it is to tell the story of Game of Thrones. But you did a great job summarizing the story. Also the usage of the map, helped well.
they can't even pronounce the names right ... maybe watch the show first before trying to explain it
Anime Guru lmfao ... do you have ears? Just listen at how they pronounce Renly Baratheon ... and when they tried to pronounce Peter Bealish’s name i cringed so hard i had to turn the video of
Anime Guru Also something else i Just noticed ... The banner for house Arryn of the Vale is all wrong. They used the sigil of house Mallister .. which is a house in the fucking riverlands. so they aren’t even vassals of the vale. This video is just really bad
Anime Guru even the mallister sigil looks slightly different but it’s certainly not the banner of house arryn
Belg Le monde is a french newspaper
Vini no excuse for bad videos ... the speaker sounds like a native speaker so i don’t see how the paper being french caused her mistakes
I see a lot of people here put negative comments, I personally like it, it was well organized.
u can tell the narratorhas no idea about GoT but recognizes the potential ad rev and regurgitates blog worthy shallow garbage.
shame shame.... shame
Great summarize
Night Watch??! What's with people omitting the possessive (Night King)?
Great video. Very clear and concise.
They got a lot wrong here
Wow thanks for explanation, map, and route line
the map is like greece and turkey
george t and britian
More like UK and Turkey
Tywin described as charismatic first makes me lmao hahah
Nice vid tho
lmao this shit is off on several points
Best show on cable
Tywin wasn't assassinated,
aperson22222 murdering a major political person in secrecy(after which the killer joins an enemy force) is an assassination
he kinda was
Skozerny I wouldn't call it secret literally everyone knows who killed tywin
Rip Tywin
got shot while on the toilet.
This videos is just great
As aleays you didi a great job
The writing is perfect
The graphics are great
Thank you
You are taking a lot of things at Face value and making a lot of assumptions. Half of this isn't true. Did you read the books or watch the show? Or did you just just go to a bar where people were talking about it and took it as fact what they were saying
Thanx for your work...very Well Summarized and easy to understand........ thumbs up!
this is just fucking awesome video
Hahahahah good one!
This is an amazing video
well done! is all clear to me now!
Well explained summary
Great video!
This is a good video to summarise the story. With so many characters it is so hard to follow watching 10 episodes a year.
That's great!!!!!!!!!!! Make it easier to follow the history!
Great presentation
Cersei and Jaime were siblings and had a kid together, are those hired actors from Alabama lmaoo😂😂
Great, I mean, GREAT job!
Simply excellent!
The way she said Petyr "Baelish" still keeps me up at night...
Having listened to the audiobooks and gotten used to "Pih-Tire" Baelish, it honestly didn't bother me too much, haha.
just brilliant !
i listen to all these got podcasts, but hearing george talk about it makes it seem real.
great summary.
nicely done!!
watched this before the show didnt understand anything, watched the show and i did, there are many crucial events they missed.
It is impossible to recap the show in only 7 minutes. Not saying this does a horrible job it actually makes a noble attempt, but the fact that he’s or Tyrion or Arya wasn’t even mentioned just proves my point
this was very nice.
She sounds like the Westeros News Anchor and I love it 😹
very nice map presentation of game of thrones major events.
part 2 for the remaining seasons?
Outstanding!
She forgot the part of how Riverrun was given to the Freys for helping the Lanisters
thank you
Stannis Baratheon is no pretender. He is the One True King. Robert left no trueborn heirs, by law the throne must pass to Stannis. Even the honorable Ned Stark recognized and supported his claim, also Jon Snow.
Thanks
I was like ohh in 7 minutes since I don’t feel like watching the show from the beginning but after I saw all the comments all well
Robb didn't declare himself King he was proclaimed by his bannermen
It was informative..tq
"As winter approaches..." Oh dear. And that voice as if she was reading daily news on tv. I was going stop right then and there but gave her a second chance. Luckily she corrects herself soon and puts it correctly: "... that winter is coming." Wait a minute, "...threats...assignS that winter is coming"? And how do threats from Essos play their part in assigning that?? Always up for a bit of wordplay, I'll conclude by saying this: "What an ASININE way of putting things." Thumbs up if you checked out before viewing 30 seconds of this video. If not for my reasons, please state your own :)
Im sorry but as much as the other people are being assholes about it, they are still right. This is (in a way) accurate, but not totally something to rely on. There are still missing pieces and some more important details that should be in a "summary". I mean, summary is suppose to "highlight" important details of a certain topic right? I dont wanna hate on you guys tho (altho I saw a comment that says the person who did this isnt a fan of the show but decided to research about it, and I think that comment was right). I still appreciate the effort, as there are details here that are indeed, correct.
