However, at a think-tank like the Chatham, age is just a number, and what matters are one’s policy positions on internal and global issues. In this respect, Raila clearly won. His internal-related policy positions were very coherent, including positions on climate change and foreign policy. In particular, Raila’s response to the question on the current Ukraine-Russian conflict was excellent. Without a doubt, Ruto is not yet in a league where he can rattle off policy positions on his feet like Raila did at the Chatham. For the most part, Ruto still rambles on and on a lot. He is never at ease with himself and always come through as someone who wants to prove a point to someone. I am sure he is brushing up on these aspects and will become of age some day, but he is not quite there yet.
