Ok so I just had to come on and say that after watching this video I felt very confident that I could replace a screen on my screened in porch. I ordered the materials(the clips were sold out everywhere!) and convinced my husband that we could do this. He reluctantly said we could give it a go. And we did it! The only problem which wasn’t a big deal was I bought the wrong type of spline. We just returned it and got the correct one and the process was actually much easier than anticipated. We keep looking at the screen and then at each other and say I can’t believe we did this!! We had a section replaced a few years ago and it cost $400 so look what we saved!! I can’t thank you enough!
Awesome video. Thanks and its a great workout👍You don't need those clips. You tack the left side with a 6" piece of spline for beginners. Then go to the right side. Level it out and start installing spline. Thats how I started doing it. Now I'm A Screen Pro👍💪
It’s an black jug and the name is one shot fire, ant, killer spectracide and I bought it at Publix grocery store. It works wonderful. We just moved here from Maryland. We’ve lived here a month and we were kind of nervous to use it but it’s great. and thanks for your video because my lanai screen is getting old and I can see where it’s getting wear spots so thanks a lot. Have a great day.❤
That was awesome! Thanks for the lesson! I too, have a screen over my pool here in Florida. We need to replace some screen right now and I might get brave enough to change them myself now that you made it look so easy! Thanks so very much! Have a blessed day!
Hydrocortisone spray works wonders on ant bites. We were just hit by Hurricane Ian and I will use your very helpful video to help bring our house back to the condition it was before the storm. Thank you!
I found your page thru the cake stand tutorial!!! I need to replace ALL my screen on my newly purchased Florida home. I love the weather here...but the Love Bugs are NO JOKE!!! New subscriber!!!
You read my mind...lol Were in the process of changing screens in a screened in veranda that is attached to one of our bedrooms...thank you for this video. 💖
Thank you! My husband works a lot so I’m learning how to do stuff myself ;) And if you make a paste of meat tenderizer and put it on the bites as fast as possible! The meat tenderizer breaks up the poison the red ants inject.

I was dying when I saw the flip flops.. thats me all day.🙌🤣🙈. 1st video I found and confidence boost from female doing it like a Bo$$ in some flops & make up 🙌 cause after this she is hitting up HomeGoods 😆
You can buy some instant grits and sprinkle them all around the fire ant bed don't disturb the bed just sprinkle them around the bed and because they're instant they will swell up huge and when they feed them to the queen she will die and then they will all die so it's safe for pets, kids, everybody but the ants. Thanks for the video and good luck!😃👍👍
Girl, you do it all! Give yourself a big pat on the back for that DIY! I would only tackle that project if you helped!😂 I hope you got rid of those fire ants! 🐜 Amazing Job!💗
Here’s the link for the clips: amzn.to/3SN301y Spline may vary. take a piece of your old stuff into Lowe’s or Home Depot and they should be able to help you with the size.
Post-hurricane Ian and I found just about all the re-screening companies I called (6 so far) have lost all sense of business integrity by doubling, some even tripling their pre-hurricane estimates. I decided to do-it-myself and not feel sorry for any of them when they are begging for work down the road...
Thank you so much! There should be a link in the description box of this video where you can purchase them. They are very helpful. I wouldn’t do it without them.
What are the names of the clips? Did you buy them at somewhere like Home Depot or a pool cage specialty place? Thank you!! Ive been pouring boiling water all day to try and get rid of these ants here in Fl! Next time I’m trying the Instant grits trick!
What are some of your biggest DIY dilemmas? I would love to try and tackle them for you! Let me know here! Would you have tackled this project?

How do we just reinsert some screen that has come out due to wind, but all in tact?

she forgot to say the curved side of the flat spline should be facing out. the spline will hold in the C cavern best and with stand strong wind.

+jess m Thanks!! 😃
I used pieces of round spline instead of clips. 2-3 inched bits to hold the screen in place while I got the permanent spline in.
thanks for this❤❤❤

+Lisa Burningham Thanks lady! You’re the best. And I would definitely come help you fix your pool screen! 😃
Show us how you replaced the roof screen panels
How do we replace the screen overhead the pool. Any you tube videos for that? Thanks
Where to buy the clips and what size spline
Here’s the link for the clips: amzn.to/3SN301y
Spline may vary. take a piece of your old stuff into Lowe’s or Home Depot and they should be able to help you with the size.
Can you please share a link to where to purchase the clips you used. Thanks.
you didn't mention any links like you said early-on in the video
Now how do you replace the screen directly over the pool??
What do you call those clips and where do you buy them?
What are the tools that you need I worked in a hardware sroreware
Where do I get the clips I must have missed something
How long did it take to do both screens
Not too long. An hour or so. With help 20 minutes.
I would love to know where to buy those plastic clips your are using to hold the screen. You reference a description box with a link but none exists.
Hi. Look them up on amazon. They have different once. There are better, metal clips type, lanai screen clips. Good luck

Hi, where do you get clips at ?
Where do you get the clips?
I'm going to do the same to my screen enclosure.
Where can these clips be purchased?
You video was so informatively awesome!
Thank you so much! There should be a link in the description box of this video where you can purchase them. They are very helpful. I wouldn’t do it without them.
No description box or where to buy clips?
@@joelamarco2948 amazon . Lanai screen clips . Metal once way easier to work with
What are the names of the clips? Did you buy them at somewhere like Home Depot or a pool cage specialty place? Thank you!! Ive been pouring boiling water all day to try and get rid of these ants here in Fl! Next time I’m trying the Instant grits trick!
Amazon. Look up lanai screen clips
What are your thoughts on replacing the screens on the top of the lanai? My thought is to have a professional do the top and I'll do the rest! Thanks
Here here! I have no desire to climb on top… But on the sides it’s totally doable.
@@designedtothenines maybe rent a sturdy scaffolding (you'd have to build it up) from Sunbelt or Home Depot. That's what I'm thinking right now
On a ladder with flip flops, no no!!
So much wasted time with these stupid clips... Just hold the screen up with the spline 🤦
I would feel better if YOU wouldn't wear sandals or flip flops on a ladder! Big No No!! Safety little girl!!
Stop talking
You will call the professionals when your roof screens rip tho 😂 watching you pull that old spline out was painful...
Great job!
