A funny story about Joe Diffy's "Prop Me Up Beside The Juke Box":
My youngest sister was 4 years old and singing at the top of her voice "KNOCK me up beside the jukebox"😅

Hi, Kevin. You've given this parodist/poet a challenge. So, here it is: (to the tune of 'Blue eyes crying in the rain')
Oh, I wish that I could see them,
    My goddess, Shania, and Chastain.
If they were stuck somewhere, I'd free them,
    I really love Shania Twain.
Of her fan club, I'm a member,
I'm in love with Shania Twain,
And, I hope that she'll remember
    I'm more handsome than Chastain.
How's that for a crazy song, composed in 20 minutes?😉
Thanks for playing "no country music for old men".

    • @CountryMusicTimeMachine
      @CountryMusicTimeMachine  2 месяца назад +2

That's a pretty good song. The problem is after reading those lyrics, I may now dream of them both. A dream alone with Shania might be fun but adding the watermelon man it could get scary.

Loved the bit of Hee Haw at the start. I haven't seen that in a long time. Still remember the raspberry bit in it. :) I listen to country music stations so I have heard Watermelon Crawl before. I ran across No Country Music For Old Men not too long ago. Great song. Lots of references to artists and songs from the past. On the subject of Joe Diffie I have another one of his that I ran across a few years ago. I don't like most Christmas songs (particularly carols) as I have heard them ad nauseum over the years. I go for songs that are what you would call non-traditional. A few years ago I ran across a great song by Joe called Leroy The Redneck Reindeer. You really have to check out the video that was done for the song.

So many suggestions to make. Lonestar had a couple of crazy songs, like "Mr. Mom" And Unusually unusual"
I really need you to mention Neal Mccoy's "Billy's got his beer goggles on" The Song is not even the craziest part! The music video is! Jack Hannah Appears, three times with a different animal at the bar, foe no reason.
Joe Diffie stole your girl thats Tragic and hilarious, Tralarious Crazy Joe Diffy songs John deer green, Prop me upside the juxbox if I die. That dead guy appeared in "Pickup man" and "I'm in love with a capital U" Music videos. Someone was influenced by Weekend at Bernie's
A crazy song about watermelons... "Country bumpkin" No.. purposely trying to think of one that is not the obvious watermelon crawl.. I have a crazy story about talking to Tracy Byrd once... Can't repeat it though
As far as country music political songs, only one I like is "Ain't I right" by the legend Marty Robins. Also Ray Stevens had one "Grandpa voted demacrat"(He's been dead for 40 years)
What do you get when you cross Liberache with Jack sparrow? Ray Stevens The pirate song. Also his haircut song just gests wilder and wilder.
For the Bellemy brothers a great cxrazy song is "Almost jamacia" And There was a lack of Cledus T Judd (No relation) How about remedying that with "I was country when country wasn't pop" Because I was country when Barbra Mandrel was hot.
Never heard no country music for old men before but it moved me, love the reference to George Jones, "Whose gonna fill their shoes"
John Anderson songs were more sad, than crazy, but "would you catch a falling star" was fun
Ghost riders in the sky by the highway should definitely be in your Halloween songs
