You’re one of the very few that I’ve ever heard pronounce Hyundai correctly. Sunday-Monday-Hyundai. This is quite an exceptional vehicle from Hyundai. I just bought my wife a fully loaded SEL trim in Moonlight Cloud with black leather interior. Very well designed, built and equipped crossover for a $43,000 sticker price. It’s our 4th Hyundai and the first one we’re financing as opposed to leasing. Very happy 😊

Love your reviews - legit work! This is so badly needed, because no one covers the experience of driving a car/SUV at night. I have been disappointing several times while driving a rented car, which otherwise is excellent during daytime but shows its weaknesses when it gets dark. Great work again! So rarely focused on and i like all the little touches as it shows how manufacturers put thought into night drives. And your right about ceiling ambient lighting which is disappointing when so much else looks good. Its so hard to find anybody that does everything right!

Finally a good night time lighting review on this vehicle. For me lighting plays a major factor when making a decision on a vehicle. I look for good lighting in both the exterior and interior. 👍🏽

Thanks for the night drive review. Those triangle "issues" on the low beam are also complained by some sonata users as well. I think that's the way how the Koreans designed to prevent blinding the opposite side.

Hyundai's been doing this for a while. My mom is interested is getting a Palisade. I have the 2012 Hyundai Azera Limited with all these same features and I LLOOVVE it.

Wife had 2017 Ford Explorer Limited bought new and never cared for her 2.3 ecoboost twin turbo engine. Talked her into looking at 2020 Palisade Limited AWD. List was $5000 less than Explorer was new and way more vehicle. We now own a 2020 Gray Palisade. Very, very nice!

I'd have to go look, but my 2017 Santa Fe has auto hi-beam, and I think their sensitivity is adjustable through the touch screen menu. I live in a fairly well-lit area, so I don't get a chance to use them often.

Again why the Korean don't illumitate those button over ur head that u really NEED to see if u need to open right side or left side or all interior lighting( specialy that all the other buttons are illuminated)...
I heard that u need to plug in ur phone to used carplay or androidauto 👎instead of Bluetooth. .. 2021 come on.

I have a Telluride on order, but man I'm being tempted to the Pallisade. The interior on the Pallisade is absolutely awesome, and the exterior is growing on me too. not to mention, you can actually find Pallisades on dealer lots lol

Great video! I've just got a quick question, as I am in the process of looking at buying a new car. You mentioned that there were two triangles in your low beams. Why are those triangles there and is that something that is going to be in all new cars?

Suggest the major interior lighting deficiency are the lights below the mirror or rather lack of; especially the Homelink buttons; so at night have to go by feel to press the right button of the 3 available. The same 2020 model year Santa Fe on the other hand illuminates these buttons. Would willingly trade the expense to have these lights versus somewhat less options for mood lighting.
Is there a way to illuminate the drive mode know? The sales person not the service dept rep knew how to turn it on. I have the limited trim.

Can the SEL upgrade to LED after buying it with just LED bulbs? Or are you saying you needed to order the Premium Package to get them? And I hate the Auto dimming headlights and wish I could just turn on high beams without having to go through the auto dimming part
The Palisade (along with the Telluride) is an excellent vehicle. But I've complained about one aspect of the Palisade's design and I'll repeat that complaint here where it's especially relevant. I live in the Puget Sound region in western Washington. Each year the spring thaw in the Cascades brings many tons of rocks and gravel down onto our lowland highways and back roads where they become ammunition that large vehicles, especially logging trucks, fire like bullets at the vehicles behind them when pebbles and gravel are encountered. Drivers here learn after a while to give those trucks a wide berth after they replace headlights or windshields once or twice.
The problem is significant enough when headlights are placed at the top of fenders (as they are in the Telluride). It's even more problematic when the headlights are mounted just above the front bumper as they are on the Palisade where gravel hits lower and more often on following traffic. Low mounted headlights appear to be a signature design element for Hyundai on several of their SUV's. It's not one that I appreciate.
I completely agree. I don’t see the point whatsoever to that, no benefit at all. And Chevy copies that look with the Blazer too. Obviously no though went into that lol. Thanks for stopping by sir!

Does the palisade have a way to trigger the interior lights when opening the doors at night?

I just got mine and it scared me when I didn’t knew that when you put the truck on parking sometimes it locks and it didnt want reverse nor drive haha and you have to push a button to get the lock off ... i had yo call the guy that sold me the Palisade..... and what it does too is that if you are reversing and a car gats behind you it tells you and start to vibrate.... i love my new palisade even if its the least expensive one.... sorry for mi english i don’t speak that well haha but i just wanted to recomend the best car I’ve had in my hole life and i always had Toyotas and nissan
Appreciate your effort to show the night driving Dynamics. It's a great vehicle for the price but not sure how it will hold after 7or 8 years quality wise and resale wise.
The vehicle has gone up in pricing. Dealer is asking 5k to 7k additional on top of msrp. Went to get a limited awd and the otd price was 63k. No way I am going to pay that money for a new car in the market. The interior is over complicated tech, which might break down. Also the engine is non liner powered and lack refinement. Get over the hype, dont buy one. I ended up getting a 2020 4runner limited.
I think the review for the headlights(LED'S) are spot on. I have a 2016 Acura RDX and to be honest, those LED highbeams really suck! I have to travel down some dark roads on my way home from work and these things don't do a good job on lighting up the road ahead. Sometimes I hit the high beam switch thinking I'm in low beam but actually already in high beams. I think that HID's gave off a brighter illumination and pair those with Halogen for high beams and you can see the road so far ahead.
Hopefully 2022 model comes with fog lights and illuminates the interior light buttons.
Is there an adjustment for the HUD? My friend just ordered the top of the line Palisade. I wish you could've shown more of the HUD. It seems small compared to others I've seen like mine. 2019 BMW X1. The HUD in my car is height adjustable as well as left right and brightness. The HUD shows Media when changing tunes or stations, arrows for Navi, Speed limit and current speed and even danger signs if theirs bad weather or traffic up ahead. In the Mini it even shows a tach which I heard can be added by custom ECU programming. As you know these vehicles are software driven when it comes to options. Do the mirrors fold when you lock the doors. Does the vehicle have home light after you turn off the vehicle so that the lights stay on to illuminate your door or path?

Great job Nolan! I really like the night videos! Not many reviewer's do them. This could definitely use some fog lights. The lighting looked pretty narrow but good distance on the high beams. Will you be getting the Kia to compare?

Can you please say honestly how Hyundai Palisade v6 gdi engine is? Is this very good quality v6 engine? Will this engine run 500k to 600k km? I want to know because I have a confusion to choose from Hyundai Palisade V6, Volkswagen Atlas sel V6, and Honda Pilot Elite V6, please give me the right information because I want to choose a V6 car which will run perfectly 500k to 600k km without any big issues..
Auto high/low beams are quirky on most vehicles I've experienced.

I just leased this vehicle today, I have the Limited version but mine has is a black edition package. The vehicle is white but with a black roof, black wheels and the front headlights as well as the rear taillights are tinted out. Looks really sporty and aggressive.

What trim is this Limited? Is the 2021 limited the same as this?
Yes it’s the limited. I haven’t seen the 2021s but since 2020 was all new I’m sure 2021 will have very minor changes if any at all
I heard the reviews are harsh on road noise and wind noise by driver side. Any thoughts?
I’ve seen some reviews saying that too, except objectively with decibel ratings...it’s quiet overall. There is certainly noticeable wind and road noise...but it’s really not loud at all. It’s hard to describe because you can hear it, there’s a little whistle from the wind and some whine from the tires but it’s enough to hear it but as far as carrying a conversation in the car listening to the radio it’s actually really quiet. I think the Telluride has slightly better ratings when I had it last summer
I can attest that yes it does indeed have slight noise. The salesman who sold me mine admitted 2 people had complained and he claimed its an easy fix. Ill be taking mine in soon, its not horrible but without the radio on it can be distracting
are lights the same on the 2022?
2020 models have halogen lights on lowest 2 trims SE/SEL, but 2021 and 2022 have all LED headlights standard. Otherwise it’ll be the same everywhere else
I just bought my Palisade Limited. Love it... but i do get the wind noise driving around 60mph
There was a fix or “service bulletin” - something like that to help with that. I’ve heard about the before and after being quite noticeable. Maybe check with the dealer that you got it from

I have no idea whyyy people flick lights at me when I have the low beam on.. they don't realize that palisade has bright led lights it's soo irritating that they flick lights thinking I have the high beam on 🙄

The illuminated front passenger air bag lights are super annoying. If they were dimmable, I would not have had to take a black Sharpie to them and and black them out. They cannot be seen at all during the day and barely glow at night. Footwell lighting that comes on with the dome lights would have been a good thing too.
