I mean, you don’t have to be from an English speaking country to speak English… If you’re traveling and don’t know the country’s own language you would try to communicate in English anyway. Plus his English wasn’t perfect, maybe opting for a place where it isn’t the native language was best :)
But it is reasonable for a Swede to not know Russian or Ukrainian. But if you are going to try to fuck with somebody using a foreign language English is literally the worst one you can pick as English is not only the most popular language in the world it is also the most geographically dispersed.
