What a legend! I hope your setups become a thing VR entertainment arcades can run, especially your MechWarrior setup. It's just what the old sim pods from the early 2000's should've been.
Love the overall determination required to do something like this. I'm going to build something very similar. Wish I had thought of "The Machine" as a name first haha....blessins!
Love the rig Little tip try to learn to drive Rally with both hands you will have so much more control over the car because one handed your control the lose of control if that makes sense. ❤
Thanks mate :), yea I have a lot to learn to get better at the rally driving. My mate is right into it and actually places quite high on the leader board. He has been giving me some tips as well. Appreciate the comments and thanks for watching mate :)
Love seeing thw itterations pf you rigs. Im the same have been through canvas camping chairs to playseats and wooden rigs with added bit. Finally got a cheep alluminium rig and im about 4 itteration on that getting racing gear and flying gear with vr fitting all together.. now im left wanting more from vr and motion looks awesome
Oh mate thank you, you such a cool thing to look back over and see the progression. SO glad I took pictures of everything as I had no intention of making RUclips videos when I started. Thanks for watching mate and the awesome comments :)
Incredible journey, and well documented thank you for putting this together, as someone who saw a LOT of similarity with your story, the ever evolving sim rig, I really enjoyed and you've blown my mind with the rubber strap seat belt tension! I am myself looking forward to the next addition being a motion system, and wanted to ask you what forums you would recommend to research on? Another question as it's something I am considering... if we assume a motion platform / system can handle the weight, would there be a concern based on your experiences, with mounting a monitor like the ARK on the motion platform itself such that your screen doesn't move independent of your head? Thanks again for all the super helpful info!
Amazing mate and thank you so much for watching and the amazing comments :) SO thrilled to be able to share this adventure with everyone. I would recomend you jump onto a couple of Discords, the HOTAS discord: discord.com/invite/szqaJE7 there is actually a fantastic section on there about Simrigs called 'Simpit', plus just below that I even have my own little chat section :) Lots of great content in there to get started. I would also jump on the following Discord for all the other great sim stuff: Thanos discord.gg/q8vkTPBB SRS Studio: discord.gg/uJFGWers SimHub: discord.com/invite/nBBMuX7 VPforce: discord.gg/ERZ3czsm FFbeast: discord.gg/PTMbmVE9 DOF Reality: discord.com/invite/KNg4WJhgsG and also this website: eracing-lab.com/ Please let me know if you have any further questions :)
I completely forgot to mention about the monitor. From a weight perspective, yes you could. The rig or motion system has a load limit of 400kg total. It would require a lot of bracing to secure the monitor but it could absolutely be done.
Really love this video! It has motivated me to make some modifications to my own setup and also reconsider my own upgrade path. Can’t wait to see more! 👍
Brother Robbo, welcome and thanks mate. I believe you made a quest appearance in my video 😎 and somewhat responsible for my reckless spending on the rig 🤣 Looking forward to catching up soon and chatting about your new upgrade ideas.
Thank you for making this! One of the most amazing rig videos I have seen. I have seen versions of your rig with a center stick and a side stick... I built mine with a removeable center stick, similar to yours but quicky removeable with a couple thumbscrews. BUT, despite it taking less than 2m to swap from race to flight... I still am too lazy to do it. Thinking I may try a side joystick mount for a while perhaps the convienence beats realistic day to day.
@@LimitlessHorizonVRSimrigs I love how you have it dialed for multiple applications. Bought the Virpil CP2 after watching your video.. loved the ED button setup there. If the motion activator controller didn't take up so much space I'd do that too. Have a NLMv3 seat mover for now.
I'd love to know genuinely how much something like this would cost to set up in Australia. Do you have any links to forums that have information for what setups work? This is what I imagined grown up gaming to look like when I was younger. Just realised I am a grown up and thinking why not? Awesome work!
Mate I'll be doing a video soon covering all of my parts and what to buy. My rig as is not including the PC, around 20-22k, this includes the 55" monitor as well.
Thanks mate. Oh you little beauty, my brother in law has the RSMEGA+ as well. It's going to blow your mind. Would love to see your setup once it's all up and running 😊 if you have issues or get stuck just flick me an email. Pretty sure it's visible on my channel, if not just reach out.
Incredible build. I haven't bought anything yet, but I am very inspired by this. When in VR, do you just rely on muscle memory to use all of the flight switches and controls?
So glad this gave you some inspiration 😁 to be honest, it's a little of both. Muscle memory, yes, however there are some brilliant apps to utilise the pass through on the Quest 3. I'll be doing some videos soon about this. It actually works incredibly well.
Oh mate this is epic news, if you want anything in more detail or to ask any extra questions don't hesitate to email me. Email can be found on my channel page or, on the HOTAS discord, I have a sub channel on there :) Ok, so the main reason for the two amps was control over the intensity of the sound going to the two Buttkickers. I use them all the time by adjusting the front and the back separately.
Nice! yep love the virpil controls to. got the mongoose orion alpha setup with the control module (one with little landing gear) simply the best! Hooking up the servo drivers tonight. Im looking through your vids to find out what your favorite app is for running all your stuff. Got the gamer pro buttkickers. Got the 2 fossi amps also and an extra buttkicker. theres slight overlap of tech due to my inexperience and maybe impatience at times hah. havent quite figured how to integrate all the transducers/amps but im sure something will come to me. any ideas is def welcome. anyway just thought id share the joy. Thanks for all your advice and keep on killin it bro!
One question about buttkickers.. are they loud... or transer through the floor.. i game in the room under my 2 kids bedroom and have to turn ffb effects down so as not to vibrate the rig so much as to make the windows shake?? I have sim3d rumble kit on pedals and i can get away with that
Mate they can be, you can of course dial the volume down though. I would still highly recommend them. On the days or nights you need to be quite, just turn them down, and then when you can, crank em up. They are so awesome.
The rig is around 1k, motion is around 4-5k all the extra bits around 5k. I was thinking of doing a build price video on my exact setup. Then there's the computer price on top.
This is an amazing comment. Thank you 😊. I have plans to build a dedicated room out the back of my house if the channel takes off, will be dedicated to expanding the simrig and taking things to the next level.

Mate, wouldn't that be amazing 😁

Thanks mate, its a lot of fun on the journey. I would love to see what you end up building :) Thanks for watching mate and the comments.
Love the rig

Oh WOW mate, thank you so much for the kind words and comments. Thrilled to bring this to the world :)

Some awesome ideas, thanks for sharing and it's great to get the aussie perspective.
Thanks Steve 😊 glad you liked it mate, and thank you for subscribing.
The algorithm pulled me to the video. Cool video. Wouldn't mind it if you told people of a flash warning just in case.
Thanks for watching mate and glad you liked it 😁, I'll edit the description and add that warning.
so clean cable management is perfect!
Insane setup! I just purchased an RS MEGA+ kit and can't wait to install it on my rig. It looks crazy fun :D
Love the setup, great video! Wish I can have something like this someday in the future!
Thank you 😊, i hope you can as well.
not although i expect you sell such an awesome project
such a sick setup
great video!
@harrymorris613 Thanks mate 😁
Incredible

I'm curious about your audio setup. Do you have a surround sound or do you use the speakers on the monitor?
Mostly I play with my headphones, the Arctis Pro wireless are epic headphones.
I'm basically ordering everything I saw you recommend. One question, why 2 fosi m03 amps? thx!
Oh mate this is epic news, if you want anything in more detail or to ask any extra questions don't hesitate to email me. Email can be found on my channel page or, on the HOTAS discord, I have a sub channel on there :)

do you prefer playing with the rig or building it
Great question, honestly a big part of it for me is the building and tinkering 😊
if you were to sell it how much for the whole rig
OK, really rough calculations, 20k for the whole rig, including the 55" Samsung Ark monitor. Plus 6k for the computer.
how much did it cost for the whole thing
The rig is around 1k, motion is around 4-5k all the extra bits around 5k. I was thinking of doing a build price video on my exact setup. Then there's the computer price on top.
what moniter do you use
It's a Samsung Odyssey Ark.
have any companies reached out to you and offered free gear
No not yet. I have just purchased a force feedback joystick I'm going to review soon 😊
everyone sub lets help him get new room
This is an amazing comment. Thank you 😊. I have plans to build a dedicated room out the back of my house if the channel takes off, will be dedicated to expanding the simrig and taking things to the next level.
