Thank you! I didn't know what the nylon base was for, and I thought I might have done something wrong when I had to use a hammer (and a huge hex key as I have no metal mandrel.
I have an old Air Force military ring that I haven't worn for over 30 years and it no longer fits any of my fingers. Can this tool stretch it so I can wear it again? It's pretty thick and I don't want to damage the ring, but I would like to start wearing it again.
You can go backwards and you can also anneal the ring before stretching so it doesnt crack the ring. But this economical tool is the best as it save time and can make a warped bent ring straight. But this is a very good video.
So let’s say you got to go up like a size and a half, two sizes or even 2 1/2 sizes. Be the metal sterling silver or solid silver or even gold. Is that Advisable, or would that much of a size difference be best to take it to a jeweler? Also, is this only for things like coin rings or rings that are round but with no design on them like a Lionshead or a Viking or something like that?
Uhm. What do I do if it won't separate? I didn't think I hammered it too much, cause I didn't want the ring to snap or anything, but now I can't get the tool to separate. Even tried hammering and even putting something to push the expander part out and dropping (!) it onto the pavement hoping that it would pop off, but my ring seems stuck forever.
I put my gold ring on this and hammered it a few times. But then I found I couldn't get the centre part back out. I hammered from the bottom using a long bolt ( I don't have a mandrel) but it still wouldn't come loose. Next I tried heating it up in the oven for an hour, but still no luck. In desperation I tied one end of it to my gatepost and the other end to my car bumper, then I drove off fast. The ring stretcher separated with a loud crack and snapped back against the car, shattering my rear screen. I think this was caused by a fault with the ring stretcher, so can I claim compensation?

Hey, hello, - do you have only this or smaller stretchers - for silver rings/links *from 5 to 10 mm* (inner diameter)? Thanks for answer.
Can this tool go up half sizes? Thank you
When I went to the link it says stretches 8-16, my old ring is like 5- 5.5 can I use this still? I would like to know before I purchase. Thanks!

This method is only for one size up at the very maximum. It's best for 1/4 or 1/2.
Yesia

Hi! Can we stretch an 18k gold band using this tool?
I did it. It works
Music should not be played during any DIY demos. That said, this was a good demo. Just what I need at low expense. Thank you!
Thanks
