What part of Toronto’s new transit plan do you think will have the biggest impact-more stations, faster commutes, or better connections? Note: In the video, for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, we mentioned at 05:15 a September 2024 opening date, with the exception that "uncertainties remain". Well, it seems the uncertainties won, and there will be no opening in 2024. We apologize for the outdated info.
"Ellington??" expected to Open September 2024??? In a video published October 2024??!! Not even close. It's too bad these videos weren't created by people with subject matter expertise, rather than just reading info off of Wikipedia. The video overlooked a number of other significant projects..
all the clips in this video are recycled from other users and news archives. the voice is a natural speech voice synthesizer. RUclips is slowly becoming an AI content recycling cesspool.
Yankee ignorance, and an obvious disregard for anything outside THEIR sphere of influence. It's the same with all of these Yankee-based videos covering many topics......useless trash, inaccurate, and full of nonsense.
Fun little transit fact... When it was first announced, the Eglinton Cross-Town LRT was scheduled to be completed by the time my daughter was entering grade 10. Our family was relieved her 1-hr morning bus commute would turn into a 30-mins LRT ride! Grade 10, came...it went...grade 11 came...it went....grade 12 came...and she graduated (still no cross-town)... She's now out of the city in first year university and guess what? We're hoping by her graduation from her bachelor's degree she MIGHT get a chance to actually ride the LRT that was supposed to take her to grade 10 classes.
the whole video is recycled clips from other users and the speech is a natural speech voice synthesizer. A growing trend for "husslers" is to use AI generated scripts and voice overs to generate content which is then edited/assembled by cheap, for hire video editors online. I've seen people promoting these types of gigs online as a way to generate free money without lifting a finger and its honestly so disappointing. soooo many of these types of "creators" making videos about construction projects bc its so easy to rip information from other sources and regurgitate it with AI.
Just want to point out the GO Transit is a regional rail line that is operated by the Province of Ontario. The TTC is a separate organization owned by the City of Toronto.
Eglinton LRT amd Finch LRT are both done, but haven't opened yet. Last I heard, it's contract issues with contractors and Metrolinks that's holding them back.
The TTC carries more than the STM (Montreal transit agency). However, the Montreal Metro carries slightly more passengers than the Toronto’s subway. Montreal and Toronto’s metros are roughly the same length and have roughly the same number of stations, with Montreal having slightly larger train sets.
Great job on this presentation, minus a couple small errors, the comments below are complainers. I can see you put a lot a work into this. well done. And thank you for all the great info.
You keep showing shots of Green GO Transit (Metrolinx) Trains, which have NOTHING to do with the TTC, or Toronto Transit. GO runs between towns and cities, and is owned by the Provincial Government.
Well, hmm, Eglinton is actually a Scottish name. In that sense, we pronounce it "wrong" from the way it should sound. Saying it the "right" way really is just the way we say it locally.
@@pauly5418 I guess you hadn't considered many of us also come from a Scottish background... but don't take my word for it, let's see what 5-mins of quick research on the internet says about ''Eglinton'' as pronounced by Scottish people: The Scottish pronunciation of Eglinton is similar to the English pronunciation: Final 't' -- in some areas of Scotland, the final "t" of a syllable is not pronounced. For example, "bit" might sound more like "bih". ***Don't see anything about a missing ''g'' which gets misplaced and mispronounced as ''Ellington'' (a common British name and likely was confused by the narrator, which is why we're poking fun at it)...
Oh god, let's hope that never happens. The highway is already way too large. More lanes don't solve traffic, they make it worse. The ONLY solution for reducing traffic - proven over and over again: building good alternatives to driving
TO resident here, excited to see the end result, but things move so slowly...I'm disappointed by the hwy 10 route...roads need repair...hopefully they'll be streetcars that share the road with cars...but seems they've made a barrier, which makes our roads even more congested.

4:35 How you can pronounce it 'Ellington' when the sign obviously reads 'Eglinton' is beyond my understanding.
Im not sure they are going to get the Eglinton line done by September 2024....I'd bet my house on it
It’s literally almost November
@@blackpanda7298 so his hunch of it not being ready by September is pretty good then. ;)
It won't release 2024 😢😢😢
Time-travel has long been a reality. Get with the times. So to speak.
They won't open it till probably 2025 September at the earliest

Ellington???😂
Now, now, maybe he'll give us Toh-Roh-Tahnians an Ahh-Pahhl-Ogee. 😆
So many errors on this. Thumbs down. “Do not recommend channel.”
Could you mention a few?

Funny enough the biggest issue I notice is it looks like a bunch of GO Transit service got lumped in to TTC… not down for this.

I’m pretty sure this is AI and not very accurate. Avoid this channel.
I reported for misinformation.
Pronunciation correction:
On-tarry-oh, not on-tar-rio
Egg-ling-ton, not Elle-ing-ton
Source: Im from Ontario and live in Toronto
Let alone the way he says Tore-Ron-Tow... instead of just Tron-oh
AI
It's actually Egg-lin-ton. No "g" after the "n" (ling)
Us locals pronounce Ontario "On Tarry-Oh", rhymes with "carry", not "On Tahhry-Oh", rhyming with "bar"...
Yeah it was getting REALLY annoying hearing ''On-Tah-Rio'' and ''Ell-Ing-Ton'' (it's EGG-LIN-TON)....say...it...properly!!!
ya these stupid robovoices can't pronounce things properly.
I think it's an AI made video

Eglinton LRT projected to open in September 2024 meanwhile video is published October 2024…
Its Eglinton avenue, not Ellington.

4+ YEARS late delivery for the Eglinton line and the Metrolinx CEO still has his job?!? We would have been fired years ago!!!
I call this video a pipe dream for Toronto
I am reaching out from mid November 2024 and still the Eglinton LRT on testing phase.... 😂😂😂😂😂 I am speechless!!!
Good video but you also need to cover GO transit expansion .

There is no Ellington Line . There is an EGLINTON Line

EGGlington not ELLington
Eglington line
Another RUclips video made by people/bots who have no direct knowledge of what they're talking about
1. It's not pronounced On-TARR-ee-o; it's pronounced On-TEAR-ee-yo. 2. It's "Eglinton," (EGG-lin-tonne) not "Ellington."
These are just temporary solutions
Butchering the province and cities makes this unwatchable.
It is Egg Lynn Ton, not Ellington
