I absolutely like that you show what all the settings change. Too many tutoriuals are just people explaining what they do but not showing what it actually changes.
Hi, do you remember where you got your Linndrum sample pack from? Your kick sample sounds very clear and punchy compared to most sample packs I find online that's all. Thanks
What would you say you need to know to really have a go at a production like this? Like time measures, chords, progression etc... I always think I don't know enough about music theory to create a solid song structure to make something with multi-layered tracks like this and actually produce something good.
I really like your way of doing shit. maybe you could try making kawaii future bass with glitchy drums and stuff as that's sort of the style I wanna make a lot of
@@tombenjaminmorris ait yh I found some ruclips.net/video/YBgzkksLURU/видео.html this ones not very future bass but still glitchy ruclips.net/video/NSvrDZjjKag/видео.html
Great tutorial, mate. Vaporwave is so many different things and subgenres, I'm sure it fits in one of them. Reminds me a bit of "Palm Haze". Btw. What's your favourite vaporwave album?
Hey Tom, thanks so much for all the info! Noob question here. Would I convert all my midi tracks into audio tracks before adding all the effects like you do? Or would you add the effects and then convert them? Or does it just depend on what effect your adding. Thanks!
Cool track, although I don't think this is vaporwave. This sounds more like slower outrun/synthwave. A big part of vaporwave is sampling, and recontextualizing. Taking old sound and warping them and throwing effects on there. Really, vaporwave is super easy to make. Just slow down an 80's rnb song, throw some reverb on there and loop some parts.
Thanks for your comment, I am starting to get this impression since posting the video. I think I have been thrown off the true origins of the genre, unfortunately. However, I still think this video provides value in the production techniques I run through. I hope you are able to get something from this tutorial
Vaporwave is not a "spin off" of synthwave, they exist for different reasons and have their own origins. Yes they are both nostalgia focused but don't let the names lead you into thinking they are somehow related
Thanks for commenting. I am coming to realise that people’s perspective of the genre seems to vary greatly. I perhaps have missed the rnb sampling aspect and possibly could have assigned a more appropriate genre in retrospect. I still think the video can be beneficial to those watching for the production techniques

I'm happy you like the detail :)
Love how you got into all the nitty gritty details 🙏

Nice Chillsynth tutorial! As you noticed, the processing is way more emphasized and relevant than usual Synthwave :)
Just followed you on spotify.. good stuff my man!
Appreciate it!!
Fantastic video! Very thorough!
Thanks mate!
Very cool tutorial, I learned a lot of useful info!
Great stuff! Thanks for watching
Excellent video super helpful thanks 🙏

I knew the genre nazis would come out of the woodwork, complaining about what genre it is. Here it is.
You don't get to determine what is and isn't related. Can't stand comments like this. Nobody made you the arbiter of genres.
