Ironically, classic luxury currently seems best understood by Genesis: beautiful, comfortable, and fast, with a serene, functional, intuitive interior. That second half is where modern Mercedes falls flat on its face, substituting confusing, inconvenient, distracting flash. Those offer just as much luxury without the tech overload. Not looking forward to the new Audi A6/7. It feels like Audi's trying to go down the Mercedes route but with more cost-cutting.
nice
Current voice assist is annoyingly primitive and intrusive. It shouldn't be a thing in cars until the hardware is available to understand and respond like a modern LLM.
wow
What’s your favorite car? (I will rate it)

What's yours? Mine is the original 80s Audi Quattro, but for an actual daily driver car it would be basically any modern Lexus or Mazda sedan. I drive a Mazda 3 sedan.
Mercedes’ interior is still hard to beat, very impressive.
Beautiful
It's only a matter of time until the driving experience will just be autonomous and you'll be paying a premium to stare at screens. What a shame. Was fun while it lasted.
Anything for the sake of maximizing profits and cutting costs!
i'll never buy a car with only screens for the controls. it's garbage, let's be real
Every day, German “luxury” dies…
The screens and lack of buttons are disappointing and also the illuminated grill is gimmicky. But other than it's a pretty good car.
E63 AMG is going to be a lot lighter than the new M5
Man, Mercedes is such a mess these days. There's almost no distinction between their models.
My God the screens. 🤮
Needs "soft close doors"
Coming here after watching videos of the w212 - w213 makes me sad.. it’s all about screens and lights nowadays…
Ironically, classic luxury currently seems best understood by Genesis: beautiful, comfortable, and fast, with a serene, functional, intuitive interior. That second half is where modern Mercedes falls flat on its face, substituting confusing, inconvenient, distracting flash. Making an annoying interior is easy, making a useful, pleasing one takes focus and skill.
Genesis?😂
@@pacmanc8103 Yes, Genesis. See Topher's review of the G90, compare and contrast.
@@CuriousGeorge1111 Come on now. The big Genesis reminds me of the old Toyota Crown 👑 Might as well as buy the big Hongqi H9, which if you want to go down that road, is a better car than anything Hyundai makes. But, we’re talking about real automobiles that people want.
@@pacmanc8103 Think what you will about Genesis, my point remains: the G90's interior does classic luxury better than the E450. And I'd much rather pay a G90's ownership costs than an E450's.
Seems to me Mercedes is focusing on prestige, and neglecting convenience and reliability.
@@CuriousGeorge1111 I think that it really comes down to what buyers consider luxury to be - I consider the interiors of Genesis gauche. The E450 is understated and with sophisticated refinement. I’ve owned Mercedes for decades and have never found the cars particularly expensive to maintain - perhaps $400 a year for scheduled services (A service cheaper than B service, of course). I’ve never had issues with reliability, but then I’ve only purchased cars manufactured in Germany and not places like Alabama, where many models have been manufactured in the last decade or so. My new E450 is my favorite Benz ever.
