  • FLACARI SI ROTI [FLAMES AND WHEELS] by Corneliu Cezar LIVE , in concert, in 1995, celebrating Maestro MARIN CONSTANTIN at his 70th birthday. This recording ends the anniversary concert performed by the Madrigal Choir conducted by Marin Constantin in February 1995, in the Romanian National Radio Hall, in Bucharest. FLACARI SI ROTI [ FLAMES AND WHEELS] by late Romanian composer CORNELIU CEZAR is dedicated to Maestro Marin Constantin and the Madrigal Choir, founded and conducted by the Maestro for 47 years. Presented for the first time in the famous GEORGE ENESCU FESTIVAL as world premiere on September 21, 1981 in the Romanian Athenaeum, in concert, it became a staple for the ensemble under Maestro's directorship. It was presented over the world in hundreds of concerts out of the thousands that the ensemble performed on three continents, offering the international public beautiful contemporary Romanian choral music.
FLACARI SI ROTI [FLAMES AND WHEELS] is inspired by several spiritual and peace-dedicated poems included in the musical score by Corneliu Cezar: Poetry by F. G. Lorca; R. Tagore, Omar Khayyam, Nicolae Labis, Heinz Kahlau, and Eugen Jebeleanu. The composition ends with music on Eugen Jebeleanu's poem, Prayer (Rugaciune) calling nations to leave wars and weapons aside and dedicate their lives to peace and a better world.
Dedicating this beautiful recording to Maestro Marin Constantin on his FOREVER BIRTHDAY, on February 27, 2021. And to all choral music lovers and performers who make a mission in responding to calls for peace!
A special thank you to Mihaela Dobos and the Romanian National Musical Radio for the anniversary concert, presented live to all Romanian public throughout the country, celebrating Marin Constantin and Romanian Choral Music.
