I've owned an 07, 12 and 16. They are super reliable, SSS suspension is the best stock suspension available. I have had to put a slightly lower shock link on all 3 to help the cornering, but other wise they have been just great. I now ride a 2020 YZ250F as I am 55 and the weight of a 450 is an ass kicker on long ride days.
I'm not a moto guy but I pay attention to you for an MX bike info and Jimmy Lewis for my off road info. Both you guys don't just tell me it's a good bike (I've been riding long enough now to know they're all good now) but you have a good way of breaking it down in to information I can use and find useful. Please Yamaha, make a YZ350fx and update your 2 strokes.
Why do you think the Yamaha 450 struggles so much to win a championship? They've had some more than capable riders over the years but they can never get it done. Especially given that its such an awesome bike in stock form
hello my namer is stephenfrom southern ireland i have a 2018 yz 450f i got it recently havent realy touched anything on it just need to know what the correct settings are for the front forks and the back shock useing it for parctice at the moment im 13 stone and about 5f9 in hight
Brakes still feel the same? when i read updated calipers on the Yamaha website i was hoping they would be improved but they aren't even mentioned in the video so I'm guessing they still feel the same.
Should I focus more on getting my sag number right? Manual says 90 to 100mm. Everyone else says 105. 102. Etc. So im confused.... Also when I set it at 102 my static sag is way off. Like 50mm. If I remember correctly... If I change to a softer spring won't I have to address the front forks ?
Yamaha YZ450F are the gold standard of 4 stroke dirt bikes. I have an 08, runs like a top.

Great video and super informative more so than other test videos. Any idea when the ‘21 RM-Z is coming? Or when you’ll be able to test the new Honda?
Nice ML!

Awesome review. What would be the pros/cons of keeping the bar mounts in the stock position (forward holes/mounts backwards)?
So are you saying that you can lessen the engine braking with the app? Would that apply to the 250 as well?
Yes there’s a setting on the 250 Keefer free feeling, get it off his website
When will you get to test the 21 crf model
How could I get someone to help me adjust my suspension, handlebars, and sag setup that suits me as a rider?
When are you riding the CRF450 2021?
