I miss Victory Stadium and the feel of the place. It was a special place for high school sports and college games. Part of me died when it was demolished.
And now you're left with an absolutely soulless city where, unless you're employed in the medical field, you're better off finding another city to settle in.
I remember going to the Livestock show 96.3 WROV had put on there in May 2000. Kenny Wayne Shepherd had headlined that year with other bands like Robert Bradley’s Blackwater Surprise, & the Thrillbillies. Great day & great memories.

I started visiting this area in 2018. Never knew it existed. What's in its place now?
It's unfortunate. I must have been part of the first generation of Roanokers who never got to experience Victory Stadium.
I was able to be apart of Salem's 1st state championship there

Where Victory stood its land is still sitting.
Do you mean it's just an empty space now? If so, why was it torn down?
CAn anyone tell me where Steve Kessling and Becky Riddle are at now?
Tearing down Roanoke's history. Sad.
Tearing down Victory Stadium was a mistake.
stitch16261 No, It was old and was damaged in the flood of '85 so they tore it down
@@cookiethechihuahua8168 If it was from the flood of 85, how come they waited 20 years to tear it down.
Good question!@@PhilWorley
