madam I'm not even a teacher but i de with little children from time to time, and your video helped me understand more about handling children in a fun way 🙂 salute to all teachers who are indeed creative geniuses for coming up such strategies to help students learn not only academically but also in behaviour 🙂
My jaw dropped with the large sand dial! I need to find one asap! Absolutely genius! Thank you so much! 10 years of subbing 2 years of teaching... never seen that trick! Absolutely love it!
Great video-:) I have been teaching English Conversation to 6th-9th graders in Czech Republic for 10 years. Over the past year or so I have been finding a lot of great videos that really actually help teachers. I wish I saw these videos when I started teaching 10 years ago.
Cute suggestions for very young ones! My 4th graders are a bit cynical and will immediately despise me if I treat them as young children. I do like the xylophone but I'm never going to remember 5 different note combinations 😆
Whenever I bring some toys or just about anything that I can use to the class, the children tend to play with it to the point that they check what's in my bag.. And since only few of them speaks English, I have to do several actions while speaking in English that they shouldn't do it..
Thanks, useful tips. Just wondering if the sand timer will cause problems between children in class as there are usually the children who want to learn and the ones who dont therefore these children do not mind how much learning time is wasted and other children who are behaving are being sanctioned or feeling bad when they have done nothing wrong. Any tips to manage this for the timer? Thanks
That’s if you’ve got a class of robots. What if you have a class of rowdy children older children, this will not work. May do for a bit as it’s new, but will not work for a long term solution.
Do you remember The Sound of Music? Do you remember Maria's reply to being called by a whistle? What do you think she would say in reply to being called by a bell? Did she ever call the children by anything other than their name? Cows wear bells. Sheep wear bells too. So does Mr Jinx, the neighbour's cat. None of them have a place in my Maths lesson.

We're not calling to them, or beckoning them to come here. Its to get their attention. That's it.
