You have just saved my life, I love 8/0 o'shaughnessy's for tope. Dont like BMX hooks. But been using them to fit the solo bait clips, now if seen this I'm going back to my ever faithful o'shaughnessy's
Another fantastic informative video dean. As someone who’s come from coarse fishing rivers your hints and tips in regards to rigs an presentation have been very helpful. so thank you. Made it very easy to transition Into shore fishing. Tight lines. Also be great to see a vid of you on the tope 👌🏻
What do you think of the Trident Roto-Bait, Dean? I fit 7/0 hooks baited with crab in them for Rig (same as your Smoothound, but generally averaging 15lbs) fishing here in NZ's South Island. The same hook / bait doesn't fit in a Gemini Splash down. By the way, I use your fixed circle hook as per your Smoothound trace (but with a Bagnall Bar or Up&Over) and it works exactly as you described :-)
Hi mate, I haven't tried any of the trident tackle but I've seen a few anglers use them, yeah it's a good the way the top hook is fixed in place it seems to nail them every time, keep up the good work mate 🎣
Good video have you ever had the imp and lead come off together ? Last night I had 2 casts in a row lead and imp gone no problem before or after that . The imp was on a swivel on a running up and over Thanks
Great video thank you dome other thoughts [Fishing][tackle][rigs][components] #gemini Gemini splash downs the red ones , generally these are very good and will work with all std wire hooks, mid wire hooks like sukuma manta extra to 7/0 and thick wire hooks like mustad big gun to 4/0. BUT ..... there are things to watch for And it's a big but they do occasionally do some of the following 1. The lead just detaches either when cast out or when casting..... this is hugely annoying 2. The clip gets sand in it and dosent deploy the bait ..... I check now before each cast, if it feel gritty I rince it out. 3. The clip gets bent and won't deploy down out of the plastic to lock the rig in place and has to be changed. Out of imps, trident and standard clips the splash down the only one that i have found that both supports OTG casting and also allows u to cast v heavy baits clipped that are equal to or heavier than your lead. But we do need something better its a fragile design. J/Mia
