I think that Butter is a book that come to my life in the right time, and gave me so many quotes that were coherent to that period of my life....definitely the best book for my 2024. Give it another try when the time is ready.
I just started magnolia parks last night because I just had this weird feeling that I was going to fall in love with it. I hope I have the same reaction as you while I go through the series 🤩
Read “It Lasts Forever and Then it’s Over” because of you and absolutely adored it. For me that has to be my most unique book. (Also read Monstrilio this year and it’s a close second)
I also DNF Butter, just wasn’t interested even though it sounded like something I would love. I love rereading books and have certain books that I regularly reread, it is just so comforting 😊
I absolutely loved Butter. I do understand the criticisms but for me I loved the food descriptions and found the story so interesting. I also read Small Things Like These and for me was an instant 5 🌟. Looking forward to following along next year.
i would recommend you to read firefly lane by kristin hannah because i feel like it deals with female friendships and does it in a heartbreakingly beatiful way
HI, My favourite new book this year was The Little Shop of Found Things by Paula Brackston. My biggest disappointment of the year was The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods My best adaptation was All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doer. 📚📚📖
📚 I think my top book this is year is All the Colours of the Dark by Chris Whitaker, and my biggest disappointment was House of Flame and Shadow by Sarah J Maas 💔
I hit a reading slump over the last couple of months. I then seemed to substitute buying books for reading books so I now have over 50 physical books on my TBR for 2025. I want to get that number down significantly before buying anymore. Two on the list are Butter and Intermezzo. I am looking forward to reading them. I read the Great Alone by Kristin Hannah this year. I thought it was fine, nothing groundbreaking in plot or writing style. I don’t feel the need to read anything else by her. People always recommend the Nightingale, but I’m just not interested. I don’t think she is the author for me.
I feel the same about private rites Julia armfield is a great writer but the plot and story is a little wawa. Do we have one brain? Butter was not good
