Billie and her brother, Finneas, write all their music together. This “studio” version of the vocals were recorded in a bunk on their tour bus. Her EP and entire first album were recorded and produced in her brother’s bedroom. They tried recording in a real studio once and hated it. They also refuse to use any pitch correction on her voice so what you hear recorded is pretty much what you get live. I actually think her live performance of this song at the Brit Awards is even better. You should check it out.
Thanks for writing this - i saw a comment above that said Finneas wrote this song, which as you know is false - they wrote it together. There are only like 2 or 3 songs out of her entire catalogue that was written by Finneas alone...first one was her breakout song Ocean Eyes! Now if we want to talk about producing all if her songs, that’s Finneas!! Thanks again for explaining it! 💚
Billie and her brother Finneas wrote the song while on tour on their bus. And yes they went through previous Bond themes to stay true to the Bond sound. Also this was a goal of theirs to do a Bond theme so when they were given the chance they jumped on it. Billie does a cover of 'The End of the World - Radio 1 Piano Sessions' and it's just a great performance by her!
When I first heard this song, I thought it was her original composition and didn't realize it was a cover until about my sixth listen. It just suits her so well, and I think it's my favorite song of all time now.
This official version is very good, no doubt about it...but her live version of this at the Brit awards literally made the hairs on my neck and arms stand up. Even if you don't do a reaction to it, you owe it to yourself to check out the live version. When she finally belts it out near the end it's just magic.
I really hope Billie wins the Oscar for best sound track, because she absolutely deserves it!!! Also the guitarist in the Brit Awards performance is Johnny Mar from the group The Smiths! The conductor is Hans Zimmer who has done a lot of music for movie sound tracks! And definitely don't forget Billie's brother Finneas on the piano, as well as producing and writing the music! All in all, it's an amazing ensemble of people for the production of this song!!! I for one am one of the biggest, and maybe the oldest huge fan of Billie! 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
Man I knew Billie Eilish was great and all that But this makes my opinion on her vocals skyrocket to frickin FANTABULOUS. I never knew she could go so damn high in her registry damn I'm really blown away🔥💯

You gotta check her performance at Brit Award! Because she and her brother obviously have written the song, but the legendary Hans Zimmer helped with the orchestral arrangements and also have conducted the orchestra at the Brits
Billie's brother Finneas wrote this song for her. He and her write most of her music together. The live version she sang of this at the Brit Awards is also amazing.
You need to check out her live performance of this song at the Brit Awards back in February with her brother, Hans Zimmer, and Jonny Marr. It is spectacular!
Wasn't sure if I wanted to give the song a chance, because I don't really like Billie Eilish's other music. But I'm glad I did cause this is FUCKIN AMAZING

Hans Zimmerman was part of making the orchestra arrangements for this. From what I have understood he has been part of the bond songs for a long time. It'd be really interesting if you ventured back through all of the Bond songs from Dr. No to Spectre. They'll be a reflection on both the time period of the movies and the themes of the each film. Could be an interesting analysis / discussion. As for this track, it's another fantastic Bond song for a Daniel Craig film. Any track post Skyfall is going to be compared to Adele; it's just so good. I think this hits the right notes to stand up with it. Sam Smith's attempt 'Writing on the Wall' was what it was.
