Excellent Lakey..you are right on point..dedicated, focused, athletic and a huge desire to win...keep doing that an the world is your oyster...an that's from booger...!
Awesome sharing the stoke. Great to see your version and experience of our beautiful town with some amazing footage. Epic waves and great to hear your insight. See you soon in Jbay😊 This is the reason I chose to live in Jbay 11 years ago , its just moment like these🎉
So glad I found the channel. Was watching some 2024 Olympic comp stuff and remembered you were team USA in 2020, looked you up and found the channel. The footage is so great. I’d love to find out what drone you’re using. Trying to get a similar setup for snowboarding. Much love from AK!
We just had a solid 9 days of pumping swell and there's more on the way next week! For sure one of the best right point breaks in the world. And yes, there is fish in the ocean. Thank goodness 😁
great vid Lakey! also it's funny that in English they're pronouncing padel like that. Spaniards pronounce it like the normal "paddle" but just spell it weird so they don't get confused hehe
Just curious, I would like your opinion on the difference of El Salvador waves and this country. Pros and Cons, beside the helicopter free ride on my taxes😅
long way to go to get to the sharkiest right point. appreciation for the usual thoughtful, informing, and crafted mission content. does domestic ground travel (between arrival&surf destination) require heightened security measures in S.A. or do you engineer that out of the overall plan and stay in the air? odd inquiry but i'm old with more mileage to burn than time
It's very dangerous in SA. Best to be avoided. If you don't die in a car accident you have a chance of assault, murder or rape. I live in SA so i know. Sharks are a plenty but least of your worries ;)
Jbay is one of my reasons of appreciation to beSouth African. I love Jbay. We as a family will be living there soon. I got engaged there. I had my honeymoon there. It's a magical place for those who loves the Beach vibe relaxed life it offers, but its NOT the sharkiest.. well not in a south african's perspective at least lol.
The heading: Maybe the best, but being in the area for 6 months winter to summer in 1973 never heard any talk of sharks. Just whales parked down in the bay with young.
Why didn't you fly from L.A. down to Sao Paulo, Brazil, and continued directly to Capetown with South African Airways (less than 9.000 nautical miles instead of your 14.000 via Doha) ? Tickets too expensive ?
Nice vid but for the sharkiest right had point break. You need to head a little further south down the coast and into the Transkei. For Ntlonyane I name it because if your brave enough to paddle it you are not going to be surrounded by crowds.
@@Lakey_Peterson It really is there you have bulls tigers and whites,so a lovely combo. Pierre De Villiers a legendary South African Surfer and actually with a guy called Peter Button the first guys to surf Dungeons goes there regularly. And his words were when you surf there you must just know whats in the water with you. Not for me Im afraid:)
You think Jbay is sharky Transkei coast is warmer water and murkier too attracting a lot more.Natal coastline pretty bad too.Nonetheless Jbay has its fair share of whites.
😂, I know a SECRET BAY that's got warm water and bigger, hollower barrels. During the early '70's 15-30 guys out was normal. Now 200 fill the BAY. ✌💙🤙👣😎🏄♂️🏍🌊
"The Best" right in the world? JBay looks like 2 of my favorite breaks back home when they are going off... Rincon and SandBar, (805) local here. If JBay is that big everyday then yeah it's up there with the best rights, but when there's a good swell... there's no place like home.
I'm from Japan. I understand your feelings, but that's not the trend. What everyone wants to see is Teahupoo. By the way, I think you should focus on strengthening your mental state rather than training. Your surfing seems to be too focused on wanting to win. If it carries on like this, free surfing may end up just being about skilled ladies.
Man, it should be mandatory for Lakey to wear a g-banger in ALL her vids no matter what the conditions! Get that camera right up there for those sweeeeet bottom turns !! 😛🥲🤤😑
Amazing trips, views, flights, surfing, a great journey like always Lakey… always enjoy your videos.. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🤙🏽🙂
Glad you like them! ☺️
Shredding!! I love that everyone gets those morning butterflies. Thought it was just me. KOS, Keep on Shredding 🤙🤙

Learnt to surf in Cape Town as a Scottish teenager, and visited J-Bay once. Drone footage really shows the best of this amazing wave(s)
Such a cool place 👌
Absolutely beautiful surfing. ❤🔥

"SWEET!" So jealous!
Has to be J bay.

great video, two big hugs from Barcelona friends Lakey and Thomas 🤙
Thank you! 😃

I would say jbay is a little faster for sure and more hollow off the end but they are very similar 👌 both amazing

Exactly! Ticket prices were insane so we had to go Doha route
Tom looks ready to turn pro.
He has been ripping! 🔥
Is that you singing that first song?
Haha no… I wish 😜

Mdumbi is a lot sharkier, as is most of the Transkei coast. But I see you don't live here 😅 Supertubes is world class though!

Not even close to the sharkiest. There are loads of spots in Natal province that you would be rolling the dice if you went out.
That does not sound fun 😅
