If you're talking about a single edit, that's up to the time the edited clip lasts and the complexity of it. If a clip is short and it's a still view on one of characters' faces, it can be done easily and quick. But if a clip is long and a character is moving, you'd have his position change with each frame, which there would be a lot of, considering the length of the clip.
