    Since the tomato juice has not been clarified, this is technically not a consommè.

      Still delicious though, also if you chop the tomatoes instead of blending the liquid will be much clearer. And the taste of the raw liquid is so strong, give it a try, i dare you not yo love it.

      @@unclemattscookerylessons Indeed and I tried your recipe and ultra clarified it (add 13g of agar agar in your mix, freeze it and then unfreeze it in a cloth, the result is stunning! it keeps the original flavours and it is totally clear :) )

      The difference of clarifying might have something to do with using meat products. Michelle Roux Jr making his Beef Royal had had to be cooked, clarifying with egg white to remove the impurities from the beef. Raymond Blanc method uses Worcester sauce and doesn't heat nor clarify with egg whites, yet names and serves it as consommé in his restaurant. What impurities are there to purify in a vegan recipe?

    Hello, very nice video, but I don't understand how you can make it clear as water. Do you squeeze the juice out if the tomatoes or what do you do?

      Because I blended it I got a pink liquid, if you slice the tomatoes in quarters for instance, you'll get less liquid but less colour. The flavour should be the same either way.

    I blitz just the tomatoes. make the tomato water. the make cocktails with Vodka.

      Yum kinda like a clear tasting bloody Mary? You could also freeze it into ice cubes i guess? Delicious 😋
