But it doesn't give option to add text on perticular time like I want to a text after 5 sec of video and it should be ther on 10 sec and disappear, this setting is not available

@@NickyPasquier About canva video editor. By default it opens landscape size. If we open in a square dimension, video editing options are not there. So what if I have a make, say 800 x 800 video? On a related note, is there a control for how much time a text overlay can stay on a video?
@@ambivertcommunications5741 hi there, I don't think you understand how to search for video templates. The video editor doesn't default to landscape, there are lots of differently sized video templates in Canva. I'm happy to show you more about the video editor but it would be on a paid basis.

Her answer is to "split" the video at that part, and the remove the text from the next section. The problem I had is that introduced audio artifacts like popping and clicking.

Split the video clip and then add new text. You can add a Dissolve transition to make the video less choppy but when it's downloaded it will look fine.

Just had a look at your thumbnails, James. You're doing a really great job. Try to keep text to a minimum, no more than 5 words max. Think of what would catch YOUR attention and get you to click through to watch your video. What's likely to interest a viewer?
@@janbottner6081 you're welcome. Essentially you can split your video anywhere, but especially if you want to add new text. Then use transitions to make sure each piece of your video runs smoothly on to the next ;)
You're not the only one to report this. It's best to contact Canva Support so they can get some details from you. Meanwhile I'll raise the issue with Canva myself.
How do you add a text in the middle of a video? For example, you showed a sea video, but what if I wanted to show the sea video and 3 seconds later the "crystal clear" text appears.
I have a video that made on Canva a couple years back. It consists of a slide show with text on each part with music in the background. I would like to edit the phone number on the pages, but when I click on the text section, I can only add new text to a page but can't edit the text that is actually on the page. I've watched a couple of Canva videos but it doesn't explain what it is that I want to do.
If you created this video a few years ago it wouldn't have been done using the Canva video editor as it was launched earlier this year. Are you sure you added the text in Canva rather than a separate video editor?

U can copy the clip and then on the copy make another text. If u have the original and the copy side by side they look the same but with different text.

@@pitero8829 Ah, yes, all you need to do is split the video as I've demonstrated. Once you split it you can then add new text to each separate section. So if you want text to appear 5 seconds in to the video, simply split the video at 5 seconds and add the text.
That's quite tricky because currently there are no tools in Canva to blur information in an aesthetic way. You could add a Canva shape such as a square to cover the info but it's not going to look very good. If you don't mind though this would be my first suggestion to try.
Maybe I missed it, but... How do you UN-split a video section. I'm adding text & need the text to stay on screen a little longer than where I placed the split.
It seems like there are too many steps for adding text. Wish it was more like TikTok text adding. Add text, set duration through the text and not by splitting the video. Did I miss something?
How do you create a text that stays on across multiple pages? Copy and paste gives undesirable result because creates separate text element for each page and if they have effects, they effect repeat for each page, which we do not want...
Please, why can’t we choose the moment the text appears? It only appears in the beginning, we can’t move the text through the timeline to define its beginning or ending. This is simply absurd.

Try finding a better place to split the video and use the Dissolve transition.

Yes, it is available. All you need to do is extend the video clip with text from 5-10 seconds, clip it and start another video clip without the text.

@kateb355 Yes, I know what you mean. However, when you download the video file, this little 'hiccup' doesn't show up. It's seamless.
Every time I add a text, it automatically gets applied throughout the entire video. I don't want that. How do I stop this from happening?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean.
@@NickyPasquier Many video editing apps have what's called a mixer that allows you add a picture or additional video to your page.
For example, while your original video is playing, you may want to show an illustrative picture or video to explain the idea.

Can I make a text to follow something? For example a moving text when someone is moving the text is automatically moving the people.
No, not at the moment. You need to have Key Frames for this effect, which currently aren't available in Canva.

How do you switch out text during the same video? Only way I see possible, is by adding a new clip, which ends up looking choppy...

No not unless you record a voiceover in Canva when you can remove the audio and add another. Otherwise you can't split audio from a video.

Almost certainly not if your Channel is monetised. Otherwise you're generating income from somebody else's work.

You need to split the video so you can add text (or delete it) on the different sections.

Hi Rebekah I have a new quick tutorial out next week which you might prefer. I understand Canva Video editor can be a little confusing.
How do you create a text that stays on across multiple pages? Copy and paste gives undesirable result because creates separate text element for each page and if they have effects, they effect repeat for each page, which we do not want...
It's very easy. Either add the text before you split the video, or use copy & paste. I use 'Command + C' to copy, then 'Command + V' to paste.

If you want to change the text you need to split the video.
There is no duration set of text in canva, it would stuck the text for the whole video.

Please, why can’t we choose the moment the text appears? It only appears in the beginning, we can’t move the text through the timeline to define its beginning or ending. This is simply absurd.
