Honestly, I feel like the guy who sold a series of books written by *Thomas Jefferson* and only got $8,000 got scammed. Yeah they were in poor condition, but they were over _300-YEARS-OLD._ You can't expect books that old to be in pristine condition. Edit: the books weren't written by Thomas Jefferson, but that still wouldn't negate the price

Every single one of those employees deserve a big fat bonus of at least $1000 each. Because to me they didn't just save a few rings, no the y saved precious and irreplaceable pieces of memories of love for these women.
The last one about the wedding bands gave me chills. A few months ago my mother somehow noticed that her wedding band (with a similarly sized diamond and lots of diamond chips) was missing from her hand. She figured it fell off somewhere and that someone "had a really good day." :-(
There's a lesson to be learned here folks. Don't spend so much money on things like wedding bands so if you end up losing them you're not out several thousand dollars

My step Great Great Grandmother was a semi famous artist from france and she found a clay vase in the shape of an owl with Picasso's offical stamp on the bottom in the dumpster of an art studio. The piece is still in the family to this day.

I will say I was a store manager for Goodwill for a while and I highly recommend to always check the pockets of anything to purses, suitcases, and clothes when you shop. You’ll sometimes find some treasures.
My aunt hid diamond earrings behind bathroom tiles, and didn't tell my mother, when she was getting ready to redo the bathroom. The earrings ended up lost for good. If anyone finds, or found them, great find.

Lucky ladies. My rings disappeared 2 years ago. I think they too ended up in a tiny side trash next to the couch but it was to late to try and retrieve them. We looked for months. My husband bought me a new beautiful upgraded set as my 17th anniversary gift.

I work at a denny's and God bless our general manager....an eldery woman left her dentures wrapped up in a napkin and our GM want dumpster diving for them and found them for her. She was in tears, but I'll never forget how awful the woman's son and husband were to her. It made us more determined to find them for her
I saw that dress years ago when it was on display in Vegas. It was made from VERY thin fabric. Back then, many of the dresses were made like that. It was small, too. She was a small size.

I searched everywhere I could think to look where a baby would hide stuff. After an exhaustive day of searching it dawned on me......the trash. I poured a filled 33 gallon bag of garbage, goo and trash onto the kitchen floor. I did not find my rings. As I began the task of putting the trash back into the bag I saw something shimmer at the bottom of the bag. I turned the bag inside out and out fell my rings. I must say, he buried them deep.
I think that when a jeweler's sells a very expensive ring, they should give the buyer two of those ring holders, one for the kitchen sink and one for the bathroom sink. Good P.R.

This goes to show that back in the early 2000s people weren’t just posting dumb ideas, someone threw away a piece of art because it didn’t follow art standards in 90s nowadays it’s called “art” nowadays people don’t try to make art on the internet they just use the same sample and try to make it look new, very sad world we live in right now
