I just got the Brother XR9550. It's fantastic. I am able to sew without using the foot pedal., it has 110 stitches and the alphabet and numbers too for small monograms. I love using this machine, it's quiet, doesn't bounce all over the table. It comes with the table addition so I can make something more substantial if I choose. I have had Brother machines before this one. The last inexpensive machine I knocked to the floor and it was done. It wasn't even a hundred dollars but that one sewed very well too. So Brother does have a range of prices for their machines. I won't ever one anything but a Brother machine. I'm 74 so I expect to leave this one to my daughter. She is 40 and wants to learn to sew. Thank you Brother for making sewing affordable to everyone. This machine is a beauty ......Brother XR9550....get one you will love it

Just an FYI, most sewers are also interested in the throat space on machines. This information can be useful in selecting between two models with similar features. A larger throat space (the space between the needle and the machine tower) allows for ease when quilting on a domestic machine. Including this information in future videos would be much appreciated.

For quilting, I would disqualify any machine that has a small throat space.

@@pocketbookhuntressAnd there is the question! I’m a quilter but I dint do the final quilting because I’m so bad at it!!! But the piecing is something I can do. I have machines from 1926 through around 1960 plus a couple ghet are computerized and are about 2 years old! I love my BabyLock Presto 2 so much but I’m getting old and it’s not a 'ifntweifht machine to get up and down the stairs in our home. So I bought a mechanical BabyLock Zeal - it sews just fine but I find that I do miss certain things that my bigger machine has. But it’s lightweight enough to take to guild days (which I don’t!). I also have a couple large machines that also embroider and I don’t take them anywhere as those of you who also have them understand - they weigh a ton!!! I’m curious what this video is going to suggest but I’m done with purchasing any more sewing machines😁😁😁

Thanks for including the singer 9960 I have it. Love it. Bought it 2 years ago but surely didn’t find it for under four hundred dollar like you said. If I could find it for that price I’d buy another one today. Where do you shop ?

Thank you for the reviews. Would like to see a comparison between manual and computerised machines.

It would be nice if you could pronounce Janome correctly. Do you really know these machines and what they do?

@@grandmajane2593 same for me! I am not a fan of AI voices, especially for sewing videos which should be more personal in my opinion.

I don't trust any review that uses AI to narrate the video.

I agree completely but u fortunately it seems to be the norm with them - nit sure why but I’m thunking that it has to do with the cost - AI being cheaper than a real human voice!!! And some I’d these AI voices are really bad with pronunciation!!! I haven’t watched this particular video till the end but still least it’s some hopefully good information. There are many sewing machines that are perfect for quilters - some are even vintage so I wouldn’t take all this info as correct! Im curious to see if they even mention just one of the around 19 sewing machines I have!!!

I bought brother CS600i and was not for quilting. Had no fresser foot tension, no way to hold horizontal thread and would not do quilting. The throat space sucked. I gave it away, bot it back and gave it away again. Great for sewing, not quilting. Wouldnever buy a brother again.

Don't trust this video. It has random photos and video of various machines that are not the one being reviewed. They don't explain why one is better than another. The number 1 machine is a good machine but awful for quilting as it has very little throat space. This video is cheaply thrown together from random images and based probably on Amazon reviews. The links are here to provide them with kickbacks.

Just took a look at the list of machines for this video and I’m not going to watch! Nothing there I’m interested in!!!
