“Brothers”, probably the most popular track from Fullmetal Alchemist… and the most emotional, particularly the internal dialogue between Alphonse and Edward Elric… ;_;
I’ve been experimenting with the microphone placement, and found that ScottBradley’s method sounds good and crisp. With some little editing, it managed to sound really lyrical and powerful - which is what I want when playing a song like this.
Also, to the people who commented about the tuning of the piano, I will have it tuned in a couple of days. Personally though, I find the slightly out of tune sound is perfect with these types of songs.
PS: Had a typo with the lyrics, fixed it with annotations :P

This comment was enough to make me tear up. This show wrecked me the first time I watched it. That part was one of the most emotional. Such a masterpiece.

Same applies with FMA2003 😭 , people are just so much stuck with FMAB they started to ignore this work of brilliance....

@@hooray4paradiddles yes bro but for some reason FMA 2003 felt like a true and actual FMA to me as it maintained its Drama , shonan and fighting genre along with being really dark and mature , while FMAB tries to be more of shonan with childish comedy in most of time and when the show starts to get serious they add forced light hearted jokes to maintain shonan touch...it became an fighting adventure anime bruhh....😣😣
As much as I like it, I disagree. For me, they're gone but never lost because we make promises to see each other again when we reach our own road's end. As long as I keep that in mind my path is clear. We have a "light" that will bring us back to each other.

I'll be honest episode 15 and 37 of the original made it up to me for the most part. too damn funny. (In case I got the numbers wrong, the ep names are Metal Vs Flame and Warehouse 13.)
5 years later and it's still the best cover out there.
This brings back memories.... the good times. Unfortunately I've seen most of the best anime out there. This definitely made my top 15.

A couple of months ago i shared this video with an older cousin of mine, i only did it because i really like this and since we have similar tastes i thought she would like it too. Then i realized that her older brother was killed a short time ago, he was on some deep shit and she was still really hurt by it. I thought i fucked up, she cried. Then she thanked me, it was very emotional and the lyrics meant a lot to her.
FMA:B soundtack was decent, but nothing topped Brothers from the original series.
Actually Brotherhood is the original because it follow the manga...

This is so much more than just an anime; you can hear the cry of Edward's strained soul with every note that is played; his guilt, his anguish, his love and wishes for different. They took it all to a whole other level, the likes of which I have never seen before. This is thoroughly exceptional beyond words... I am tearing up....

The whole atmosphere in the first FMA series is unmatched till this very day. It reminds me a lt of the Damnation album by Opeth: that big nostalghia, melancholy, sadness... all in it. I highy suggest you, people, to look for the song Windowpane by Opeth, maybe you'll like it. Both stuff came in the same year actually.
I'd love to hear you play Trisha's Lullaby with lyrics, just like this. That would be mindblowing!

They are both great; personally I like the homunculus idea behind FMA more (failed human transmutations) but I liked brotherhood's ending more. :P

Y'know, when I first watched full metal alchemist brotherhood as a kid I never truly understood the meaning and pain of the anime. but after listening to the soundtracks you truly understand the pain and guilt Edward felt, yeah they made the anime funny but there was always that feeling of guilt within him. This anime taught me so many lessons about life, and It's amazing really.

Was the original always played at this speed? I feel like I remember it being about half the speed, giving it a more delicate feel imo. Not that this is a bad change!
The original is definitely more emotional and delicate - when it wants to be loud, it introduces the orchestra that sounds grand and epic~ I wish the piano can do that too lol

I always cry listening to this song of fma. Your performance is now held in my heart.
This is amazing. You played it so smoothly and if I'm to be honest, I think it sounds better than the original itself. This version has an element that the original didn't, I'm not sure what it was that you did but it made it sound a lot lighter than the original. It also makes it seem less gloomier than the original (not that there is anything wrong with gloomy) and makes it, in my opinion, more enjoyable to listen to. Amazing Transcription!
P.S - When are you putting the sheets up for this cover? I would love to be able to try this :D

Great cover! I saw the original FMA but not BrotherHood because I felt too lazy to watch 50+ more episodes :/ Still wondering if the endings are different or not..
it is soo different, brotherhood have much much more extended story after the original. watch it dude, well you can skip few episodes though it's mostly recap on the first half of brotherhood
I would recommend watching brotherhood because the plot completely divulges and is in general better than fma 2003. If you really want you can skip to episode 12 because the first 11 episodes are pretty much the same from fma 2003 and the manga. Brotherhood is a magnificent anime and you'd be missing out by not watching it.

The first ten episodes of Brotherhood are almost the same as in FMA03
After that it become really different, and much better
Watch it because it's worth it. But IMHO the first anime was better so please everyone stop to say "Brotherhood is much better" cause it just depends on personal tastes (even if Brotherhood is the "real" one from the mangaka").

I speak Russian too and while these lyrics are correct from a grammatical standpoint, they don't really work when you sing them. Direct translation doesn't really work when you translate song lyrics and then intend to sing them again in another language.
