- On day two of my FIRST trip to Alton Towers Resort in the U.K., we rode the major coasters that we didn't get to on the first day - Wicker Man, Smiler, Galactica (Air), Oblivion, and of course had to ride Duel again because it's Alton Towers' Haunted House! We also had an awesome lunch at the beautifully themed Roller Coaster Restaurant and got a treat with the light and music show featuring major rides and attractions throughout the park's history! I show you lots of queue and ride footage of everything we rode to show you as much of the theming, music and feel of each ride and coaster! I love Alton Towers but it is easy to take so many of the cool things for granted so thank you for pointing them out with fresh eyes and giving me a new found appreciation and respect of what is world class there. Can't wait to watch you BPB vlog 🎢 👍

Last time i was at the park, Air was only a few months old. My absolute favourite ride
You so need to go again, the classics are still amazing. And the new rides are phenomenal.
Mine was too but the change it to Glatica, wicker man I got to try this it’s on the grounds where the old flumeride was time has gone by so quick.

I don't know how Oblivion does it, it should be rubbish, but that drop is just so much better than what you'd expect. Great ride.

I've been going to Alton Towers since I was a little un, I've been on every ride there since the early 90's. You have good taste, 13 is also my favorite, not every ride has to have 50 loops and inversions. As you said the spooky theme of it is great, also that first time ride surprise really gives it something quite unique
I love Thirteen! It's particularly great at night during Scarefest when you get to go through the forest in the dark. Can't wait to do that again!
After being blinded by the camera flash, the dark forest bit of Th13een is darker than dark!
Wicker Man is also amazing in the dark! Wish the park would stay open later more often ☹️

That roller coaster restaurant is super fun!
It's years since we visited Alton Towers so I only recognize Oblivion. The kids were small so we hung out at the children's area mainly - the other rides may have been there! They only remember their 'sweet' room at the Hotel, which dispensed candies from the walls 😂🍬🍭
The Galactica photo was hilarious, reminds me of The Ring haha. Glad you enjoyed it, The Smiler is badass. Great vid again!

Thank you for another wonderful vlog Jackie. I haven't been to Alton Towers since June 2013! My brother and I used to visit twice every year and had such a blast running round and going on all of the rides, I thoroughly enjoy Th13teen too! I had back surgery in 2015 and have suffered from CFS since, the thought of going round the park now is exhausting, but I have many happy memories of it and it was such a joy to see your excitement going around the park for the first time! Thank you so much for sharing it with everyone :)
If I ever go to the UK I’ll try to go to that theme park. Wicker Man and Smile looks like great rides, and that restaurant looks so cool the way you get your meals. I thought that was in the movies. 🙂
Alton towers is my favourite uk Park. And its so lovely seeing you guys enjoy it so much . We take it for granted but it really is a magical place. This has made me want to try the roller coaster restaurent next time i go .
So I live near Chessington World of Adventures, and grew up going to Thorpe Park - I've never made it up to Alton Towers. I'm almost upset at the difference in quality in the theming between Thorpe Park and Alton Towers! The themed music?! The hotel looks amazing - not a container in sight!

Great video! After your first day video was suggested on my timeline, I'm now subscribed! As others have said, as Brits, we take Towers and it's beauty for granted just as you probably do with the Florida parks. It's so nice to hear non-British visitors loving the park and it makes us (well me) realise just how beautiful the park is. Yes, it has its faults, but so does every park in the world. I was told by a staff member of the Rollercoaster Restaurant that they model on the wall was the model the project team presented to the Merlin board and obviously they were so impressed, they approved it!!

Great vlog. So lucky to call this my local park. Managed 18 visits last season....got 22 coaster rides in 1 day on an off peak day. I love seeing Americans react to UK parks.

Another GREAT VLOG... I kinda think it is cool that Alton Towers has alot of scary elements. It is almost like a Halloween park all year round based on some the rides and area themes. Super Cool. I watched a POV on HEX and I COMPLETELY AGREE with your assessment. Thank you and hope you and Sam continue to enjoy your time. :-)
Alton Towers basically seems like a Halloween/spooky park 24/7 365 and I love it.

I’ve been a bit on the fence about visiting Alton Towers, especially as Chesstington and Thorpe Park are only an hour away from my home. But I HAVE to eat at the rollercoaster restaurant!

@@SuperEnthused Yes, I went on it when it opened in 2018 and I'm going back to Towers with my sister for my birthday in June, I can't wait!! It was just what the park needed, it packs a punch when you ride close to the back surprisingly, and the theme is the best in the UK! I would really like to do some of the big wooden coasters they have in the States, especially the RMCs!!
While I'm not a huge fan of The Smiler as a ride, the theme is just delightfully twisted. A very Orwellian feel to the whole thing, that music that's both childish and menacing, and even the cattle-pen style queue fits the theme.

Great vlog, I haven't been to Alton Towers for something like 20 years and this made me want to go back and see all the new stuff.
Great video. I need to go back to Alton Towers. I went there with a roller coaster enthusiast group on a tour through all of England's parks about 2 years ago. Wickerman was still under construction then.
If you are thinking of returning some day, early October is best as the park is open until 9pm and you get to do the rides in the dark. Early October is much quieter than the week before Halloween (and if you are lucky, a little warmer!)
I'm with you. Thirteen is my all time favorite coaster. I have never had so much fun, laughter, screams and just sheer childish pleasure on any other coast in the world and I have riden quite a few. I love Alton Towers, know living in Australia we don't get to visit very often but when ever we travel back to the UK it's always a must do. I am so glad you enjoyed the park and thanks for the vlogs and giving me happy memories.
I feel like what Alton towers do with the themes are perfect, theme parks in my opinion are supposed to make you on the absolute edge so it gets your adrenaline going, the videos of rollercoasters don’t do them any justice like when you’re actually on smiler it’s absolutely crazy it’s the best ride in the uk (in my opinion)

Jackie you sure got some awesome photos during the rides. The last ride played with your mind when exiting. Sure loved the restaurant atmosphere, & how the food came out. I like to see a restaurant like that here in the states. So happy for you & Sam getting to spend time together Via Alton Towers. I hope you can enjoy more exciting places like this.

great fun. the rides looked ideal for coaster enthusiasts, which i am. i also appreciated the greenery/ forests & gardens. it added to the effects of some of those rides. thanks

I say this exact same thing all the time. Its got the best collection of coasters in Europe. Very strong top 6 including 3 B&M's. We are lucky to have it here. Just a shame about Merlin and how they run it.
Yes it’s a wonderful world class park, the UK is lucky to have such a thing!! If I lived near it, I’d be there at least once a month.
Despite all the record breaking rides they have (aka secret weapons) it doesn’t get enough appreciation though maybe its because its in Britain and not America…stupid isn’t it some things in Britain dint get popular enough because its…well in Britain but this place has been going on for a long time while being…underrated…ish? Idk just nit as popular as you would expect
I'm getting a dark, spooky vibe from this place. Beautiful gardens but creepy, crazy, daunting rides.
Duel is amazing I do have to agree on that. It was a staple when I used to make regular trips.

I like Rita, thirteen, hex, terra sub aqua, sonic spin-ball which was first thought as spin-ball whizzer and other old rides that don’t exist no more.

It has been so dang long since I went to Alton Towers that I was like, 'What the hell is Galactica?' Then I was like, 'Oh, they rebranded Air.' Last time I went, that was the new ride. *That's* how long it's been. Also, always remember the little ghost girl in the doll house in the haunted house ride.
They called it galactica and added VR but it’s has slowly been removed I actually enjoyed the VR

I haven't been to Alton Towers for years but I somehow got the impression from articles I'd seen that you wear VR googles on Galactica and that is what makes it different from Air but I guess you just proved that to be an urban legend.
No they removed the VR feature. I would not have ridden if they did that bc I don’t like it. Glad they don’t do it!

Fun episode Jackie! That coaster cafe was pretty gnarly. I would LOVE that place! Right up my coaster alley! 🤗 The lift hill on Wicker Man was a bit odd as the train first caught on what looked a curved section on the lift hill before going up the straight section. It also appears like the ride’s elements aren’t paced out compared to rides such as Thunder Head at Dollywood or Gold Striker at California’s Great America. Its’s much more compact which offers a disorienting and shorter coaster experience where you can’t really enjoy the theming making it less re-rideable. But the theming was extremely detailed. I was surprised to see Smiler is still running after the horrible accident that happened 4 years ago that seriously injured two women. I guess that brought more attention to the ride where guests want to ride it and forget about what had happened. Anyway, I look forward to your other park and attractions vlogs! Keep up the up! 🤗
The reason why it's compact is cos the people who live by Alton Towers kept complaining, so the coasters can't be taller than the treeline. The only way they got away with Oblivion is cos they had a taller tree, and tons of people are still pissy with the Smiler, but even though it really fucks my back up, I'll always love it. It's funny how people always focus on that accident when the runaway mine train caused 29 accidents (or at least that's what it says in this article www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/alton-towers-rollercoaster-crash-disaster-5810663 ) or the only rollercoaster fatality in UK was miles from AT, but Nooooo, let's just focus on this one ride and bully the hell out of Merlin... Sorry, got a bit pissed off

The rollercoaster restaurant is giving off chitty chitty bang bang vibes with the breakfast scene, that is so cool though, they should have that here in Orlando dosent even have to be in the parks to enjoy it
