I was 17 years old, and I had just driven this girl to her house to drop her off. She was like, "I still have some time to drive around, if you want." As I pulled away from the curb, "I'm gonna crawl" came on, and she reached out and held my hand. We've been happily married now for 30 years. Another Led Zeppelin success story.

Dude, what an iconic memory to share with everyone. You knew she was a keeper. I love it when music of the past brings you back to a perfect moment in time. A date dance, a roller skating trip at the rink with your favorite girl, a party, or just hanging out with your buds drinking a bunch of cold ones during a summer's day. PERFECT!

I saw Zepplin at the Long Beach Arena in 1975. They will always be my favorite band. I learned to play harmonica to Bring It On Home when I was 11 years old. I play blues harmonica professionally to this day. People always ask me how I chose it as my fav instrument. (They’re always surprised because I’m a woman). I tell them Led Zeppelin 1 changed my life!

There were 4 different covers for this album as I remember it.
All of them came in a brown paper wrapper. You didn't know which you were going to get as a buyer/fan of Zeppelin until bought and then opened.
That's the way I remember it.
      Now you have the internet.
      It's better than my memory,
most of the time, until things get deleted and rewritten lately.
      Keep your books and magazines.

It did come in a brown wrapper, because there were a few different album covers for this album.
I don't recall exactly, but the covers were all the same scene with some slight differences. Like maybe a different person sitting at the bar. Was so long ago, can't remember exactly

Unfortunately I never got to see Led Zeppelin live but I did get to see Page/Plant in 1995 on their Unleddeed tour which was awesome! I have also seen Page solo (1988), Plant/Krauss (2008) excellent, and saw Plant solo around 2012 which was also an amazing show. I am a guitar player as well & have taught myself many Zeppelin songs on both Acoustic & Electric over the years. I learned the solo to "Fool In The Rain" and never get sick of playing it & it has remained fun to play. I have a Boss OC-2 Octave pedal I stack with a Big Muff Fuzz through my Marshall Tube amp & can get the same sound he gets which adds to keeping the solo fun on that song. It is a fun story as well. Thanks for posting the entire LP here.

I bought this the week it came out. And started a job that paid great but I had to take a train 30 miles and get 5 miles from there to work. Oh, the blues man. I was doing it for my woman. So me and her could make it. "Oh. Oh I need your love." Right before I turned 21. In the Evening and I'm Gonna Crawl, (I was when I finished the week.) were the big ones for me. Odd that the opening and closing tracks would be the best in my opinion. So much feeling there. But it was a messed up time for them. Jimmy on the heroin and Robert after losing his son. Jonesy kept it together for the band. Bonzo was drinking himself to....well. I had tickets to finally see them in Chicago and then, then... Bonzo died. I think they did the right thing by stopping here. A Swan song indeed.

I agree completely. As for classic rock radio, they insist on a playlist of no more than about 400 songs. They are scared to death that someone will change the station if they don't get their daily dose of "fool in the rain" when all the while the audience would f*cking love to hear so many others that never get played on super conservative classic rock radio. Like No Quarter for instance. Or the Battle of evermore. Classic rock radio COULD be so much better.

This album is very good! I don't care what the critics or band members say about it. I think alot of intense work went into the production of it.

It’s funny how jimmy sweats and toils for perfection when it comes to the bands performance but just throws down what sounds like an off hand first take guitar solo that is awesome….genius

Robert and Jonsey wrote this album in the dark. Jimmy and Bonzo were struggling with dependency. Zeppelin still made a great album. They were truly great.
