    Coach Han isn't just a badminton teacher, but also a philosopher and master! You always point out the reasons why to things no one else talks about! These days i also realise I never think about my grip, forehand or backhand, I just play with the angle or the direction I feel i should have the racket for the correct swing for the shuttle. I was never sure i was doing things right but at least now I know I am on the right track, at least for now 😄. Thanks Coach Han!

    • @full-swing
      @full-swing  Год назад +7

      If you ask advanced players "what grip do you use", they won't give you a clear answer.
      Because they don't care about the grip. The important thing is whether you hit from the correct distance, not so much how you hold the racquet.

    This is an excellent video on the grip. I have been struggling with my grip, and I began to relax on my grip. I found I can get more range of movement and power from a relaxed grip. And I have noticed that my grip is not forehand or backhand either. This video explains a lot. Thank you Coach Han, and the crew that is making this video.

    • @full-swing
      @full-swing  Год назад +1

      yes, yes!
      Relaxation is more than half the success. More important than forehand and backhand is the reaction of your eyes and quick decisions. The rest are automatic commands from your brain.

      thanks. Coach Han's philosophy is to make a distinction between 'professional players' and 'amateurs'. I'm not saying amateurs shouldn't try. However, it is dangerous to look at the professional players and try to imitate them. We see the splendid movements of professional players. However, they are not curious about the other side.
      Full swing, not full power. This is Coach Han's philosophy.

      I would like you to consider a request. I don't know if you make such content since it is not directly related to improving the badminton game but more of an extra skill part. Would you consider making a video about two things,?
      1. scooping the shuttle with racket
      2. catching the shuttle with racket mid air
      I see many pro players do it very effortlessly. I have been trying to learn to scoop shuttle from ground for 5-6 days but I am not able to do it consistently. Maybe I just need more practice and I will be able to do it consistently. I have seen all the videos about it on youtube. If coach Han is interested then I would love to watch his take.

    It's hard to answer as it's a fluid situation that keeps changing ever so slightly.... And if one is playing at that level, it doesn't need to be taught... But for simplicity sake... N not to get even intermediate players confused, best stick to the conventional way... Thanks for the humble clarification...😉

      It will take years to master your own grip method...
      ruclips.net/video/UppSk0FZORA/видео.html
      Accuracy is technique. Power comes from the physical.
      It's not a good idea to learn a new technique and make a strong stroke. If you want to make strong strokes, you should do basic strength training and weight training. Of course most don't like it.

    the thing about grip in badminton is it is just not as easy as it sounds. you cant expect to have results just because someone teach you the "correct" method per se. people can say/teach you lots of things about this and you still be not as good because you have not yet fully develop your wrist/hand/finger techniques. badminton is a sport where you develop your bodies so that you can do shots that seemed hard easily. you need to lots of hours of training/developing/conditioning your body to achieve satisfying result. cant expect much with just knowledge, gotta put them hours into it. badminton is a feeling sport where you feels the racket, strings, shuttles etc. its a varying and changing sports. fixed knowledge can't explain those kinds of feelings precisely. you gotta feel it with your body. cheers.

      'Technology' is made for the most average person. But just because someone is above average doesn't mean that person is left behind. The young man in the linked video cannot use his index finger. But he is playing his own badminton. As you know, everyone plays badminton differently. You should too.
      Sooner or later we will make a video about the core principles of badminton. I hope you can make your own badminton based on this.
