I own a little MOAT. I start off with a small investment to give me an incentive to research a fund further before investing a larger amount. This led me to watch this entire video. The video gives me the confidence to consider investing more when the time is right for me. Thank you.
Good selection of ETFs for the battle. I bought both SPGP and MOAT around a year back. But sold MOAT later as not happy with their performance. But still holding SPGP with same hope of low valuations might perform better in downturn or in market rotation. Let see what happens. But will re consider MOAT in future definitely.
I did a double-take when I learned SPGP had an inception date of June 16, 2011. I kept thinking MOAT was the old dog, when it really isn't. MOAT's inception date is April 24, 2012. Great to see you and thank you for watching ETF Battles. RD
I have a horse in this race: MOAT. Looks like I won't be sending it to the glue factory anytime soon. I've owned it since 2012. I'm going to look at SPGP, just to see if there is another thoroughbred or would it be a nag in my ETF stable. Thanks guys!
@@etfguide I'm always amazed at myself when I get something right. I'm kind of locked into MOAT because of the unrealized gains that have built up. Not a bad thing at all though. I noticed last night about how popular your channel has become. The last time I looked it was only a few thousand, now look! Congrats Ron.

It's Warren Buffett-esque and MOAT's investing philosophy was/is directly influenced by him. For those who're keeping score: 12-year performance numbers (as of 8/31/24 market close) Berkshire Hathaway A shares +461.01% vs. MOAT +425.44% vs. SPY +396.49% vs. QQQ +678.27% vs. TECL +5,881% vs. TSLA +11,094% P.S. Past performance is interesting to look at, but not indicative of future results. Best, RD

I sure like the idea 💡 of MOAT!

Omfl is not good as far as returns. We invest for returns and that's what I want!
Correct. And to elaborate, the investor's "return" is a combination of dividends (if paid) plus equity performance. Rock on Boss! Best, Ron
I watched all of these ETFs and decided to stay with S&P 500 and the QQQ
Ebrahim: See QQQ and SPY's historical performance in my comment to Joanne. RD
