  • When You Have An MBA Degree But No Experience 🤨😔🙁
It’s unfortunate, but this kind of combination makes it very difficult to get hired. On the one hand, you’re overqualified with the MBA because they think you’ll want too much money, but on the other side, you’re under qualified because you don’t have the experience, which makes them skip you overall together. In this video, I talk about how you can work through that so that you can finally get hired and start to work towards a job that’s worthy of your MBA that you work so hard to get.

I took my masters off my resume as well. It wasn’t helpful and it seemed to intimidate managers

Well, I've left it on my LinkedIn profile but removed any letters after my name...with respect to my resume I had left it off in the past and it that has worked when seeking employment....however, if anyone asks about doing a masters I do be upfront with them that I've completed one but for the sake of protecting myself I deliberately play it down so as to not intimidate anyone...from my experience, I would call the masters degree the "kiss of death" because it's done nothing for me but hurt my chances when it's come to employment...would I do another one?, absolutely BUT I'd make sure to keep it a secret from others...

Everybody wants experience but nobody wants to give it

So I have had short term contracts and a Masters. I do get interviews, but I don't get chosen. So would getting more certification and education not help me compensate for my lack of experience? I have tried going for certain jobs to get a foot in the door and they seem surprised I am applying. I know I am getting noticed due to a certain certification. It feels like I get the interview because of my education and certification, but not chosen because of my lack of experience. So how do I get experience?

What you do in this case is that you do, and as much as it kills me to say it, you need to volunteer your services out...I certainly don't agree with it but at the end of the day employers want free labour...and if by giving them free labour to get what you want, i.e. experience I'm afraid it's a necessary evil...

@@iamthegame09 I see what you are saying, but I need money. I can look for something volunteer work adjacent to my field, but I am uncertain that is unsustainable.
