its a toss up between this one or Duane and Aretha...or The Band and the Staple Sisters
How is that I have listened to (& loudly sang along, every word!) The Band, Aretha Franklin, The Staple Singers, Tom Petty, Tom Jones, etc... do this song and have never understood what the song means? Not until I heard this angel singing it as raw and as beautiful as she did... did I get it! No wonder it’s been covered my every good singer there is?! I am officially in love with this girl. So glad she’s getting the recognition she deserves and that she and all the other musicians who do what they authentically want to do without compromising themselves into what mainstream media thinks they should be, have a welcomed, soft place to call their own and that is in our hearts and souls. Glad the independent radio stations are insisting there’s a market (a large market!) for these beautiful talents -

This is what's missing in music today. Not many 30 and below understand. For years it's all been plastic, commercial, money requests. A look of the songs she is doing where big hits. But they were music first, just so happens they made money. To much in life is synthetic now days.

Not a fan! I’m a huge The Band fan and love a lot of covers but this is the most covered tune of theirs and it just doesn’t sit right to my ear I made it halfway through and couldn’t finish.
