That story about gachamba reminds me of my childhood. I used to sneak around gachamba's garage in my childhood years.

Having read ngugis book Dreams in a Time of War: A Childhood Memoir the book reminded of my childhood growing in Kiambaa Kenya. Great real life story especially for those of us who grew up in kenya. Totally worth reading.
