Auxiliary pump it's an electrical pump. If I remember it right it's on the driver side under the hood. On one of the coolant hoses. Probably dead and needs a replacement
The notch on mine was way too narrow to fit a socket through. However, I was able to remove the bolt using a box-end/open wrench without removing the crankshaft pulley. To make things easier on reassembly, I used a slightly shorter M6x1.0-20 bolt instead of the M6x1.0-25.

Mate😫.... BMW notched the crankshaft to remove the last nut on the water pump. You do not need to remove the crankshaft pulley.
I don't remember exactly why I did that. It's just 6 or 8 bolts, but maybe it made the process easier.
