I have few questions on chef and some request for videos
Chef question
A) Chef has 3 components Chef workstation, Chef server and chefnodes. Assuming that we created
many Cookbooks and multiple receipes within cookbooks, create roles and bootstap nodes to chef sever.
Cookbooks , Roles are moved to chefserver.
Question :
1) If the Chef Worstation is corrupted or deleted by mistake how can we move the cookbooks and
Roles to newly created Workstation from Chef server. Do we need to keep the code in github
and if yes , do we need to install git in workstation?
2) For High availability can we create 2 workstation which are mirror image and user can work either
on them through will we can run chef commands to move cookbooks, roles to chefserver and runllist.
B) Runlist : You mentioned that runlist shouldn't contain more than 1 receipe in it from same cookbook
Or you have to include the whole workbook. Or use default cookbook which include all the cookbooks/receipes.
So with this we can call all the recipes from one book in sequence and these receipes can't be called
when runlist is calling another recipe/cookbook.
1) But my requirement is I want to call one receipe first from Cookbook1, first receipe from cookbook2 and
then second receipe from Cookbook1 because of the logic dependencies. Can this be achieved.
2) In the Workstation for a node I execute a runlist command let us say Cookbook1 and cookbook 2
and I write next runlist command for same node for cookbook3. Will the runlist be appended or overwrite
