You might not have time for a huge decluttering project before the Holidays, that's why I thought I'll walk you through little things you can easily declutter now, you won't even miss them in 2024!
Minimalism is a personal journey that taught me to honor the current version of ME instead of the one I was or wish I could be :)

I just did a massive declutter of my cottage. I went from max to min in just a few weeks. I now have empty spaces that my mind is slowly adjusting to. I also have a capsule wardrobe, my entire wardrobe (all 4 seasons) is just under 30 pieces of clothes I actually wear. I’ve saved nothing for ‘maybe or what if’. I’m loving my space now, I feel free. My possessions no longer own me, I own them and they all have a purpose. I kept absolutely nothing that was ‘just for show’ 👌

I had to reach the bottom first, I had to feel really exhausted, frustrated so that I could find out the root of these self created feelings! I had to show up to myself and seeing decluttering and making room for my actual life, as an act of self care!
It helped so greatly with being able to say no to everything that wasn't a firm Yes!
As I was progressing and getting confident at it, my life started to feel lighter, like a white canvas I could write my days as I pleased! I started to feel more spontaneous etc...
It's a silly way to describe it but my point is, take the courage and trust yourself during the process because you'll get to know your true self as you go, your style, what you truly enjoy doing etc..

I tell my husband all the time I could have two cups two bowls two plates. I could have like five items in an empty home lol. Stuff overwhelms me. I like the peace empty shelves and empty space brings.
Oh girl, I truly hear you!! I'm the same way!😅 I'm an introvert, yet very spontaneous person when I'm in nature and with people I love!
Minimalism helped having more resources and time available to go and watch sunsets, take a drive to a new place, sit by the ocean and feel the breeze! It's been life changing to be able to give myself permission to be more and want less❤😊
Oh the everyday joys in: painted nails, using a favorite sweater, drinking coffee or hot cocoa in a beautiful mug, book piles with books you really love. String lights or candles. And you are such a gentle teacher when it comes to everyday magic and finding the joy in the ordinary!!!

🍄 ... Hmmm... The more intentionality you create in your home (and mind, thoughts), the less you look for something to fill that void elsewhere or in the stores. ... We shop, snack, etc, because we are uncomfortable with the moment of stillness. We exist instead of living, because we are comfortable with that. ... Would love to hear more about letting our minds wander. I used to do that so much as a child and teen, until the call to "be productive" became the overpowering voice
Im definitely not a minimalist but I do like simple living and recently went through my closet (again) and also went through a lot of my home decorations. I gave away a lot of really beautiful things but I don’t miss them a bit. I’d rather have space than stuff.

I'll be making a long distance move ~1700mi. Considering cost of movers, and I'm already what some consider minimalist anyway, thinking of just packing my suv and hit the road. Watching more videos for inspiration.

That's exactly how I accidentally became a minimalist! We had to move and realizing that hauling our stuff wad almost more expensive that what we have was an eye opener! We sold everything we could and started to live more minimally and intentionally!
Oh, you'll love that feeling of freedom from realizing you never needed much in the first place! It could be so empowering!😘🤗🙌
@HerCupOfSIMPLE Thank you for the response. Most don't realize what encumbrance belongings are and how it holds us back. Conventional living is indeed a trap. That uncomfortable feeling of major change - the tornado effect - is what they try is avoid. Hardest to make first step, the life-changing and anxiety-inducing decision. Make friends with anxiety; have courage to Let It Be. The accidental minimalist is a new story yet to be written. God bless ✨️
