Hello, and thank you for this great video. Here is a true collector, who is not there to make a profit but simply because he loves watches. Obviously, he has the “stars” of YT and Insta (G shock and Rolex) in his collection. But I particularly appreciate his passion for micro brands (his Baltic is incredible!)
What a wonderful collection with a nice range of prices/styles (and a clear evolution . .. of the heart). This is the kind of collection the majority of collectors can really appreciate.
Another great interview Tim Just your average Joe who’s collected a plethora of interesting pieces of all kinds. So interesting to see the different personalities and what drives their collection Keep up the great work your fans really enjoy the content!
John, your passion shows in every single watch. Very neat. From heavy hitters, micro brands, watch straps- shows your keen sense in design and aesthetic. Keep at it and cheers! (PS: thanks for getting me started on GS and my toddlers watch)
I would rather watch these videos than Hodinkee interviewing celebrities. These are very entertaining. I'm pretty new to the channel and am enjoying myself watching. I love to see people's collecting tastes.
Great collection, and I love your passion for watches, John. Please reach out to me when you are ready to explore H. Moser more! I might be able to help😉
Great stuff John , as always it’s a pleasure hanging out with you, sharing this hobby and talking watches. I really enjoyed the video. I can’t wait to see where you take your collection from here. cheers !
Great collection. I also have a buy anything I like philosophy so this resonates with me. Snoopy watches are fun, and they don't have to be just the Omega Speedy! I love my Studio Underd0gs too - I have the Watermelon and Mint Choc Chip as well. I just love that he collects "what speaks to him." Personally though, I do not get the fascination so many seem to have for the Tudor Pelagos. Design and finish is like so many others out there, but to each their own - buy and wear what you like. To that vein, I just picked up a Blancpain x Swatch Indian Ocean and I'm loving it! Happy collecting all.
He has the best GS watch I’ve seen. When I saw the 300 quantity I was super sad but I’m glad it was brought from Japan for someone who appreciates the brand. Im actually picking up my SBGJ275 today!
Awesome video!! really enjoyed that. the fact that Tim introduces these interesting micro brands on valuable airtime really speaks to his integrity. Watchbox has close to nothing to gain by giving attention to micro brands, if it wasn't for Tim, I would guess that watchbox content would have devolved into hodinkee style ad disguised as content, and discussion of 'the independents' ad nauseum.
I do my best to show respect to my guests and to my audience. So if it's micro brands that a guest enjoys, we're going to get deep into that topic. If I have a collector who finds new and smaller brands exciting, then I know that at least some of my viewers will be happy to see them. Best, Tim
@WatchBox Studios Tim has been very important to collectors, including myself when it comes to enlightenment. I would love a technicla series where he can teach us the practical aspects like how a mechanical watch works, a proper tutorial. How a Fusee and chain works, how a tourbillon works, how a coaxial escapement works, how a breguet over coil is more superior, how a free sprung is more superior etc there is a lot he could get out of the series and teach us because I can bet a good amount of money that 99% of collectors cannot properly describe how a mechanical watch really works. Thanks and I really hope you guys make this happen
His collection would never be complete until he adds a gold tone Rado diastar with a gold brazelet. His hair stylist is a genious - amazing profiling and definition... too classy man!
In general, I put out the word on my Monday evening show, and plenty of folks always respond. It's great that so many people are willing to be featured with their watches. Best, Tim
@@the1916companywatchreviewsCool, thank you for letting me know. For about 4 years I’ve been “mentally planning” and imagining myself doing a collectors interview with you one day. One day. I have a nice collection of meaningful watches, all with a piece of my life attached, but one specific watch has too much emotion, its a happy story of overcoming adversity but still, too much emotion for me to speak about it at this point. Maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to throw my name in the hat. Thanks for all you do for us Tim and WatchBox.
This episode is a rebuttal to the clickbait nature of watch youtube which constantly pits other brands vs Rolex as a binary choice when curating a collection. See folks, you can own Rolex (along with other brands,) and be a class act. Perhaps we can banish the douchebag moniker once and for all. Looking right at you Fed (who sells not only Rolex, but Rolex swag while denigrating Rolex owners.)
Watch collectors who say they love Casio but only have a CasioOAk are posers. I hate to gatekeep but they're just buying what's popular because there are so many Casio modes better than it.
This is become my adult version of Saturday morning cartoons. Please never stop making these collector conversations.
X2
We're grateful to John for taking the time to do this. It takes guts and daring to go on camera when it's not something you do routinely.
Best,
Tim

One of the best collector’s interview.
Johnnie is an incredible collector but most importantly he's a class act and one of the nicest guys I know. Great job on this interview!
Brew!!!I love that he has Brew… so much fun to collect!!!
It's always a pleasure meet a humble and kind person like John, good job Tim!
What a nice fellow! It‘s so interesting to hear his watch journey story, and what a great collection.

Amazing collection and interview
I am a huge fan of John as a person and his collecting style.
Had the pleasure of meeting John, one of the nicest collectors you could ever meet. So happy to see him interviewed.
His capacity to remember reference numbers and names is incredible. Very nice collection 🤌

Great collector with awesome pieces. Thank you Tim and John
Awesome conversation- great to see the passion and broad interest, not just showing off unicorn pieces

My fave is the Right hand Rolex which I am on the list for.
That Panerai is really nice. Great collection.
Ao refreshing to see a everyday man collection
This was awesome, enjoyed it a lot. Seems like a great guy and awesome watches!
I really like John's GS selection - especially the 273. Great classic bang for the buck. Really interesting overall collection.
Very nice collection!

Great interview as always!
The dial on that “watermelon” is BEAUTIFUL!
Great interview!
Awesome collection!
Strap game on point!

Nice to see some actual variety rather than seeing the usual hype watches like aquanauts and daytonas.
Like the old talking watches but every week!
WOW
There is no hulk on that table. It’s a Cermit. Unless it is a hulk, and the pics and description are incorrect?
His collection would never be complete until he adds a gold tone Rado diastar with a gold brazelet.
His hair stylist is a genious - amazing profiling and definition... too classy man!
Great video. How do you guys find/pick collectors to interview?
In general, I put out the word on my Monday evening show, and plenty of folks always respond. It's great that so many people are willing to be featured with their watches.

8:32 What watch club is there in Boston? There was a local MeetUp for watches but it fell apart during the Pandemic.
I was unable to find the square Brew automatic watch that was shown at 11:48. Does anyone know the model number please?
It’s called Brew Retromatic - Copper
Where does he get those custom straps?
Erika's Originals or maybe Zuludivers?
Aaron Bespoke, Erika’s and diaboliq straps

How low your self esteem must be to lecture people about their watch collection choices let alone Casios.Pathetic.
