- Someone recently, kindly commented to a previous video of mine that they liked the way I started this old gospel song, and requested that I play the whole thing through.
I have made videos of this in the past, but like many songs in my repertoire, they "evolve" - even depending on the guitar I use, so I played this about a dozen times recently to respond to the request. I'm ANGRY with myself for not being able to find the name of that person, so, if you see this, PLEASE let me know and I'll credit the video to you. Видеоклипы
Got a bit of a shiver from this one, so nice!! Thanks for sharing!!
Hi Justus, Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Andy for playing this song. Your playing is great as is your singing. Great job. Have a great weekend. Be well.
Many thanks - I found it surprisingly difficult, surprisingly and then my wife fell ill, and we tested positive for Covid!
@@SillyMoustache Andy, I am so sorry that Covid has struck your family. What a huge effort on your part. Thank you for playing under the conditions. You two are in my prayers.
I think I was the one who requested this video, and I’m so glad I did. What a great arrangement and superbly played. Many thanks
Hi Janet, I'm so glad that you made contact again. thank you for your request. I have been doing this song for years ad it has evolved, but I had so much trouble making a half decent version, and then a short while later, I got really ill and discovered that I had Covid. I'm still testing positive, and lost my voice completely for a while. I don't think Ill be able to put up a video next week, but if you have any other requests, I#ll surely try to comply when I' can. thanks again fr your kind request. Regards, Ol' Andy
@@SillyMoustacheget well soon!
Excellent rendition. Loved it. George in Montana
Thanks George, i'm not very happy with it, did it dozens of times, didn't know I had Covid at the time.
Excellent.
Many thanks!

I am glad you were asked to play it again in its entirety, beautiful song....Many thanks!! Well done!! Cheers🙏🤠
Hi Mojo, Thank you for watching as always.
What an arrangement! It sounds like at least two people playing. I read in the other comments that you've come down with covid, so get well soon!
Hi, yes, its true, I was probably running a high temperature when I did this and not thinking very clearly, and then did a video lesson after which I lost my voice completely. Feeling better now, but a few day lost. Thanks for your kind thoughts, Andy
I could hear you play st james infirmary taking doc Watsons as a starting point!
Again, this is great
Hi, I'll have a look at the song again, but I'm afraid I don't/won't copy anyone else's style ...not even DW! Regards,
vibey + lovely, as per .. .

You did justice to an old standard. Love that ending classy. I think its the best version I have heard of it. Inspiring, thanks!

Hi Jerrel, thanks for the good wishes. I didn't realise at the time but I was just starting Covid when I recorded this. Recovering slowly. Keep safe!

Thank you.
That was really great man
Thank you for watching!
Great one, again. And gave me another idea for my playing: change tempo for the last verse or two ( I sometimes sing 4). Thanks, Andy.
That's a great idea! adds "drama" ! Best, Andy
@SillyMoustache and some of your string pucking. Now I have it so I can listen a few more times. It won't be an exact copy, but Andy'-flavored.
Top drawer!
Hi, Thanks as always.
Touching. Is there more where this came from?
Mmm, well I have reduced my repertoire down to 100 songs many of which I've video'd in the past - but Maybe they could bear repeating, and I'll always consider requests. Thanks for your interests.
Great job, guit sounds killer, what is it please?
Hi Ron, that is my 2008 Collings DS1.
@@SillyMoustache Terrific tone from the guitar and your technique, thanks!
@@ronholmes6097 Thanks Ron,
why are using capo? is it the key or ease of playing? thanks
Purely to suit my vocals. Thanks for watching.
