This is so clutch Paul. That Photoshop -> After Effects -> Premiere Guides workflow is a really effective workaround, it's pretty funny that you had to do such a tour of the Adobe suite to pull that off. Feels like they could integrate some of those features into each of their programs...
Hey Paul ! Your really did an amazing job here ! Seriously, I didn't know how well we could manage guides in PP, not even talking about the multicam stuff taht helps a ton here ! Thanks a lot ! I immediatly subcribed, ofc !
Thank you very much! You helped me a lot. Among so many similar tutorials using the "crop" feature, your video was the only one that presented the solution I was looking for.
This is one of the most efficient workflows I've seen when it comes to split screens. Thank you so much for sharing this spectacular workflow! I just liked and subscribed! U R Z Best!!🤩🤩🤩 Update: I keep coming back to this great and helpful tutorial! 😍
Convoluted setup in the beginning with hopping between multiple programs, but definitely effective and efficient in the long run. Thanks for the tutorial.
7:27 "We do have three other band members that we want to see." Um, those are all the same guy. Good tutorial though! Love how you can import guides, definitely gonna use that.
Congrats on a fabulous lesson. Your inherent skills and knowledge gave me the struggling editor and student of all things great a gold star experience. mega thanks Bob Lee
Glad you found it helpful! To make one screen talk while the other stands still, add a freeze frame. Position the playhead, right-click the clip, and select "Add Frame Hold." Drag to extend the freeze frame. Mute or disable tracks to switch between talking and still screens. Hope this helps!
Make sure you have changed the size of the multicam sequence and that the 'Insert And Overwrite Sequences As Nest' button (above the Timeline timecode) is turned on.
I dont get the green secuence in just one channel when i grab de multicam secuence from the project panel... It just drop every single clip separatedly in the same order as the secuence inside! HELP...
Hello, I have a problem when tried to moving the multi cam sequence into the timeline. When I moved the sequence, it doesn't show any crop of my footage. Meanwhile, I already change the sequence size and turning on 'Insert And Overwrite Sequences As Nest' button, any help, please?
There's a lot to like about Pr but I can tell you, this ain't one of them! LOL. Three different programs to do a split-screen? WOW. DRS has a Video Collage effect right in the program that does this easy peasy!
I hope that Adobe makes the graphics palette more robust as the versions tick by -- but I also understand they don't want to cannibalize AE in Premiere.
Hello master of the masters haha. Any way to have zoom motion effects to randomly apply to my clips once trimmed? I mean, some way to randomly select clips to apply an effect. The first clip and the number 4, 7, 9, 12 and so on ...
Interesting question! The first solution that springs to mind is to use Find in Timeline (Ctrl/Cmd+F) to search for random letters/numbers in the clip names (e.g. a, 3, etc.) then click Find All to select all matching clips. If there isn't enough randomness in your clip names, then you could sort them by any column in the Project panel and apply label colors, then use Edit > Label > Select Label Group to make random selections in the timeline.
Yeah kinda - it looks for what's "salient" in the shot (faces, hands, high contrast, etc.) and tries to keep that within the frame. However, it's only triggered when the footage aspect ratio does not match the sequence's aspect ratio.
i tried so many times , doest work for me confusing , when try to move clips aside after resize them , its show small frame and the clip disappear , but when you do , its the whole screen where you moving , there is something you doing different or some settings that i dont know , i spend hours and hours keep repeating exactly same , but end up , when i move the clip aside , because its divded small part doest show out of that frame area .
When you Pull your Multicam from your media Browser onto the Timeline its one Track when I do it, It still the same amount of Clips I want in the grid What am I doing wrong? sadly I cant send you the projekt because of my NDA but maybe you still know what I`m doing wrong
Hi Rufus, it might help to target the track you're trying to adjust. helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/source-patching-track-targetting.html#track-targeting
I just ran into the same issue and the suggestion to target is still not working. When I press 1, 2 or 3 (I have three cameras) the selected screen goes black. Please help! 😧😧😧 Update: I re-created the multicam sequence and now it works. Thank you again!
If you have 4 screens that are 2 rows and 2 columns, the easiest & simplest approach is to scale down each one to 50% and then snap it to the corners of the frame. If you need to quickly crop and switch the images, this method is better.
There's many different ways, but basically you'll need to mask out the background around each box - you can use a mask in the Effects or Essential Graphics panel. If you created your guides in Photoshop (as in the video) you can just create a border and place it above your text layer.
This may have something to do with your Keyboard Shortcuts - open them up and see if the number keys have been assigned to something else. Otherwise, you can also change angles by right-clicking the clip and choosing Multicamera > Camera #.
@@ThePremierePro Really appreciate your concern. But the thing is, i did check that out, and.the problem was that, i could see the clip name chnaging in the timeline, but on screen, some of it appears, some of it dosent. I thought it might be some rendering issues, since i stacked about 25 clips on top of each other on this project. But that wasn't the case either unfortunately. But still, Thank you for the 'creating guides' tutorial. That helped me with finding out another way. Long... but it did help me get it done :)
@@krunk145 No worries - another thing to check is your track targeting. It might also help to turn on Multicamera View (Shift+0) where you can simply click the video you want to use.
This is such a simple thing to do and you made it so complicated… It’s only 4 clips …you could easily put it together just by listening to it and there’s no reason to go into Photoshop. If you can’t make four clips the same size in premiere. You should be looking for another job.

When i drag the sequence of the multi cam to a new secuence it comes without the crop. What can i do? Thanks

yoza, is there a way to kill the analzying for auto reframe while its going, i believe my premiere is getting stuck on it. Thanks
Restarting Premiere can fix this - otherwise, it helps to delete the effect and replace it with a new one.
wait, so auto reframe also acts as a kind of tracker? But chooses the subject itself ?
