WILCO performing "Side with the Seeds" live at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, OK From the film "Ashes of American Flags" Directed by Brendan Canty and Christoph Green.
i heard shit load of music, i play guitar myself and i'm always looking for great guitar solos and, man, have i found "the one"! 4:15 - this is one of the best, most original, most unusual and most indie solos i have ever heard.
@livelovelearnlife Magical place on a good night & I've had a couple dozen magical moments from Dylan in front of me playing keys all night, the Black Crowes several times, Bonamassa, Gov't Mule 4 times, Zappa Plays Zappa, Iron & Wine, Buddy Guy strolling next to me playing an unreal solo out the door playing on the sidewalk & back in, catching Dickie Betts pick as he finished a 10 min + Liz Reed and threw his only pick out, & many more. This show I was near the front and it was indeed magical.
He’s a monster behind that kit. One of my favorite songs and so great to see them having fun (particularly Glenn and Nels). Pat kinda gets the short end, in this video.
Reponse to an old comment, but…Jeff had a throat inflammation/infection. The documentary film this is taken from shows him getting examined by a doctor. Obviously he recovered. :)
I remember seeing this film on tv and there was this one song that started out all calm then the band would start going crazy and making tons of noise and then it would be calm again, they did it a couple times...anyway ive been trying to find out the name of the song. Could u guys help me out? Thx
Come on Nels Cline is so much better than Greenwood. I really like Greenwood but Nels Cline is from another world... Maybe that Cline has more freedom with Wilco.
Nels Cline! Guitar genius at work! Such a beautiful solo. A master of different sounds. Wilco. America's most underrated band. Truly brilliant!!!
I’ve read some articles that have them America’s greatest band.
that is a TIGHT roll at the beginning
One of my all time favorite guitar tunes. Such intensity in the emotive quality of the solos. And Jeff looks like he is on all his edges.
When I see that cool jacket, I always upvote!
this movie had some of the best versions of their stuff!!! The guitar at 2:00 is amazing, even on the album version
the volume swells that nels does throughout the verses in this song are mindblowing.
Great Band lucky to have seen them twice they all work hard on stage to create and top sound 👊

America's best contemporary band. Yo La Tengo come in second.
Awesome guitar playing. Great song too.
love the heavy metal solo

blink182USA1 It's called Via Chicago. It's a great tune and I always wonder how Jeff keeps his tempo while everyone is just going crazy around him.
Monitor system.
When I grow up, I want to be Nels Cline.
Dig Nels playing big time on this one
@mynameisjbone Is it not a Nudie Hughes suit ? I'm not sure
Jeff looks sick here. However he has never sounded better

"Via Chicago"
I told my brother once that Jeff sometimes wears a nudie suit. He thought that I meant an outfit that made it look like you were naked !
@slinkyphil tell me about it. greenwood is, imo, the best guitar player alive, along with frusciante.
probably via chicago
Poor Jeff. It must have been roasting in that nudie suit. He seems to have loads on underneath it too !
Steely Dan
Nels is. That is all.
