I also bought the cheap ones. As you said, it might be cheap for you but for me, in Albania, it almost cost me the liver... now i have a problem with my front doors because of that.. the rubber is out and the space is huge.. i am thinking now of removing them again or try to fix them ... i am learning to weld and hope this time i will do them my self not leave them to other people who hate working on vw buses.. i don't have any rust in my bus side panels but i have many wrapping zones .. I already have all the side panels up to the window but maybe is better to fix the original metal of the bus or just cut the shit out and replace with new metal i already bough 5 years ago.. ( THE PANELS ARE ALREADY RUSTY NOW AFTER WAITING TO BE MOUNTED )
Hi there!! I hear you on the cheap ones not being cheap. They are expensive but cheaply made…. What year is your bus? I have changed out panels removing original metal and was told I should keep As much original metal as possible. So, this time I am cutting the new panels down to keep more original metal. Watch bad Chad on you tube to see lessons on how to weld sheet metal, you can do it! Good luck, I’d love to see you bus too
